July 6.

This goldie person  Who lives in my left hand drawer constantly presents things to our environment which usually deserve considerable thought.  from the purple frying pans.. to sketcher shoes.... to different volunteers up the driveway... To FedEx delivery of bed frames I never ordered... To FedEx delivery people themselves.  (as in the case of puppies stuck in the fence.). there are times when Goldie presents things that we've learned to pay attention to.. So one of these  Unexpected things. Appeared in my laundry in the most peculiar way .     a week or two ago there appeared a sports bra which I used to wear all the time -----it was made of slippery stuff and. it really was very comfortable... Today I decided to try that instead of the usual service dog project T shirt that I wear underneath this 100% sunblock shirts..( three of which are teal in color because I seem to buy teal shirts when I'm in a hurry-)--- however--today I tried the sports bra... and it was a little difficult to get into it but I finally did and got everything straightened out ...it was tight.... and I found out by the time I got my socks on I really couldn't breathe very well  ----the fact I couldn't breathe  may be due  to the fact that I'm down to one and a third lungs Got serious.. and rather than push the button that says I've fallen and can't get up I just took a pair of scissors and cut off----AAAHHHHH  the relilef...  in the process I delivered a scratched to the a most peculiar part of me... this is going to present problems as I'm due at the pulmonary doctor tomorrow... and it's going to be hard to explain how I could have a scratch in that location.  This pulmonary doctor is a male and would probably start the conversation by saying “why didn't you just.....” And will not understand “I was in a hurry”...

Medical issues---- Mark  had some kind of medical procedure yesterday and needed transportation of One Direction or another which Jamie did... but it occurs to me we probably should have offered him a place to hang out for a few hours recovery... what the heck ----Donna sets up recovery rooms for all the dogs coming back from the vet we could at least do that for mark... or a couple other of our very standard volunteers.

As for dog issues... I don't wanna say Pete has recovered...  but he may be well on his way as his temperature is 101.2 and he eats 1/2 a can of dog food anytime anybody offers it to him.. and right at the moment he's barking  to complain about something.

As for jiminy’s  laceration- I did take him to Newburyport for a quick look because it is swelling and I wondered if it needed a drain.. Nikki the number one vet there said it probably could have used a drain or a hole left open...and she could knock him out and put a drain in now which would speed up the recovery but since I was not going to a dog show with him we may as well leave him with the lump...  I did tell her my approach to lacerations is if they can lick it and it's not spurting blood it probably will get better by itself.. which she did say was not always true.. although sometimes.   She also commented that service dog project was getting to be one of their best customers as were there just about weekly between the  the neuters and the fever of unknown origin which they did refer out.

they also apparently referred out jimenes. Laceration-- The details of which I was not Privy to.

my big example of that lick/squirt detail.....was deaggle who was attacked by a German shepherd and lost about four inch circle of skin on his rib cage which very slowly filled in and what amazed me was it filled in with spots..  being a harlekin Dane I wondered what in his gene pool made that particular 4 inches of skin produce spots to match the rest of. Him..

deagle was a great dog.  We had a problem with mosquitoes in his diegel house which I attempted to alleviate by putting in a 24 inch box fan in the door with a piece of netting to catch whatever we blew out of his house... that proved to be extremely useful at eliminating mosquitoes...   most significantly one night there was about a cup of mosquitoes in the net so I twisted it and set it up on the roof of his house and sprayed it with raid..  couple hours later the raid hadn't killed anything so I put it on the ground and stepped on it.  that killed the mosquitoes------ so much for the chemical-----this year we don't seem to have the number of mosquitoes we have had in the past -----not too sure why...  can't say we've had too much drought -----our swamps have always been full.
