Sunday stewing today.. i

it is not sh#tting sunday---
that is next week--
so please go online and buy a number or two  THIS NONSENSE  BUYS OUR DOG FOOD  http://www.memsaic.com/app/launch.cfm?sid=0FD1C9B2AAE9D7

ASA OF 1 MONUTE AGO WE STILL  HAVE 271  "BRICKS" TO SELL-- AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE HERE..    $10 EACH NUMBER---BUYS 1/3 A BAG OF DOG FOOD.

SHOULD THE FICKLE FINGER OF FATE  CAUSE  YOUR NUMBER  BE SHATUPON BY ONE OF THE HENS, THEN YOUR REWARD WILL BE  MONUMENTAL... I.E.  $500

WE HAVE TRIED TO GET IT ON LIVE ON YOU STREAM, YOU TUBE ( OR WHATEVER THAT IS)  I WILL RUN IT BY EXPLORE -- I DOUBT THEY WANT TO BE3 INVOLVED-- THO THEIR  PUPPY HILL CAMERA COULD COVER THE AREA WE PUT THE SH#TTING TABLE.

NOW THE FLEA PROJECT-
I WAS GOING GREAT GUNS WITH PLASTIC BAGS  OF  FLEAS , DOG HAIR, AND MISC DIRT..-CAREFULLY CLIPPED TO ALL THE DRAWERS OF MY DESK..... AND I REALIZED THAT I NEEDED TO PURIFY THE  COLLECTION PROCEEDURE  TO BE ABLE TO ESTABLISH A CONCLUSION...
I SEEMED TO HAVE AN UNLIMITED SUPPLY OF FLEAS ON THE DOGS HERE IN THE  HOUSE-- BAILEY LUNA LULU BENTLE.Y  CHAOS  AND OPAL

I HAD GONE FROM THE  BAGFULLS  OF FLEAS  WITH  XXXXEARTH, DAWN ,    FLEAKILLER,,...RAID... AND NOTHING ( CONTROL BATCH)  TO USING THE FLEACOMB  JUST FOR A CURIOSITY COMBING TO SEE WHAT I GOT....AND DUNK IN AN ICECREAM CONTAINER OF DAWN-- WHICH I ALREADY KNEW THEY CAN NOT SWIM... BUT I COLLECTED ALOT.

SCIENTIFICALLY  I HAD PROBLEMS WITH COLLECTION AND HANDILING OF THE SAMPLE FLEAS  FOR VARIOUS REASONS..
? DID I SHAKE THE EARTH TOO MUCH AND THUS CAUSE THE SCRATCHING OFF OF THE ESTERIOR FLEA WHICH WAS PROMISED IN THE AD??  SPREADING THIS EARTH IN CREVICES AND CRACKS  OF THE SOFAS WOULD NOT INVOLVE TOSSING AROUND... AT LEAST MUCH....

AND WAS THERE TOO MUCH DAWN/WATER AND DROWNING WAS INVOLVED  NOT ACTION OF THE DETERGENT...

DON'T GIVE UP.... HERE COMES THE EXCITING PART

SO I LINED UP 2 BAGS-- ONE WITH A PAPERTOWEL DAMPENED WITH WATER AND ONE  DAMPONED WITH A DAWN/WATER SOLUTION

I PULLED OUT MY TRUSTY FLEA COMB AND WENT OVER ALL THOSE DOGS AGAIN
WHERE ONCE EACH SWIPE GOT ME 4 OR 5  ACTIVE  HOPPING FAT ADULT FLEAS---  I COULD  NOT GET 4 FLEAS OFF THE ENTIRE DOG...  MAKE THAT DOG----SSSSS  ALL OF THEM

THAT WAS YESTEREDAY-- AND THEY WERE IN HERE ON THE SOFAS OVERNIGHT--- WHERE I HAVE BEEN LEAD TO BELIEVE TRILLIONS OF FLEAS HIDE  .. SO THEY SHOULD BE LOADED AGAIN

IN THE BACK OF MY MINE IS ALSO THAT CAPSTAR STUDY BY DR.BOB  WHICH IMPLIES  IF  THOUSANDS OF FLEAS ARE KILLED WITHIN 30 MINUTES-- AND THEY HAVE TO INGEST SOME OF THE CHEMICAL FROM THE PILL/BLOOD  THEN I WOULD ASSUME A FLEA MOST OFFEN EATS EVERY 30 MINUTES
NOW IF ALL THESE FLEAS ARE IN THE SOFAS... THEY MUST BE DANM HUNGRY-- AND WOULD LEAP AT THE CHANCE OF A DOG BLOOD MEAL  AND THE DOGSD WOULD- THIS MORNING BE LOADED AGAIN..

WELL--- A QUICK SWIPE ACROSS BAILEY'S BUM PRODUCED NO FLEAS...

STAY TUNED FOR THIS ONGOING SAGA OF THE  FLEA .

***********************IN THE MEANTIME WE WILL GO AT THE SANTA SHOT AGAIN... BILL SEEMS TO LIKE BAILEY AS THE SANTA INSTEAD OF THE REAL ONE...  I TEND TO AGREE-- THIS IS A DOG CALENDAR  AND WITH THE WRAPPED CHRISTMAS PRESENTS   WE OUGHT TO GET THE MESSAGE ACROSS

HE DOESN'T EVEN  WORRY ABOUT THE WHEELS INSTEAD OF RUNNERS
THAT IS A VERY PRESENTABLE WAGON/VEHICLE--- IT IS A BENNINGTON CROSS COUNTRY VEHICLE

PRINCE PHILLIP DRIVES THE SAME ONE-- HIS IS BLUE-- MINE IS RED.

SO ON WE GO AGAIN WTIH THAT PROJECT...   WE HAVE 12 OTHER PHOTO'S WE ALL LIKE ( 12+1 FOR THE COVER)

RE REST OF SUNDAY WILL PROBABLY BE NORMAL- WHATEVER THAT IS.

September 29, 2012

it reall;y is anne's fault-
- and she isn't even here-- but in rome -- or someplace like that--
we-- the SDP bunch had dinner  at her house-- lovely meal- graciously served--and the coffee was exceptionally good.
of course i asked her what kind--- and mid stream the phone rang and all i got was costco xxxxxxx
armed with insufficient informatiomn- i bought the little packets of coffee which were the only  KIND  sold at costco   i had not tried. it is quite good. that is not the problem

problem is... i am annoyed that someone studied humanity and discovered they could charge more for coffee prebagged in attractive little packets designed by someone who probably makes $500,000 a year because they have discovered the secret of what makes people buy things..

and they are right.  i have become addicted to the  funny little (expensive) premeasured packets which save me the excruciating chore of scooping  one and a half scoops of coffee grinds   into the pot.

those little expenses can creep up on you/me--
change the label- give it a fancy name and the buying public won't think.   i find that annoying
******************
now to apply that  to dogs.....

when you have too many lemons you make lemonade---
well we don't have too many lemons-- but we certainly have too many  fleas..and as i set up little jars of healthy live fleas and apply different "cures" so far dawn liquid is pretty high on my list---...

i can see that label now  "WASHES DISHES, REMOVES OIL FROM WATERFOWL AND KILLS FLEAS"
LIKE SKIN SO SOFT AND WD40-- THE LIST IS ENDLESS

but i need to figure out is it the detergent -- or are they simply drowning

i ordered a dozen flea combs-- which certainly work-
this business of giving them something and assuming it works has  apparently faulty logic.

to be continued.

that  diaxxxxx earth-- those did die in about 48 hours-- which is enough of a reason to spread that sand stuff into sofa's etc...  plus it is cheap  $11 a gallon for the food grade ( yes-- it has to be food grade)

renee took sir thomas home and they are doing famously---

Dear Carlene,

I've been enjoying the reports of the December calendar shot. I can picture the sleigh and eight Dane deer, Santa off-screen voicing her commands. To me, the scene sums up what the Service Dog project is all about. Danes, yes. Teamwork, yes. But beyond all the skilled trainers and trainees lies a bigger story. The real story of Rudolph.

As a kid, Rudolph topped my list of TV Christmas specials, second only to the Grinch. Frosty had no real issues and the Peanuts gang aaw-shucked their way through life - not very realistic. But, despite the sometimes disturbing claymation expressions, I could relate to Rudolph. He was different.

As an adult, however, the TV special has lost its ranking. Rudolph was different. So diifferent that others laughed and called him names. In fact, they bullied him. At one point, even Santa asked him to tone down that unfortunate nose.

But Rudolph forged on. He found friends who saw past the nose. Meanwhile, when everyone back home (including Santa,) discovered that Rudolph could be useful, they wanted him back. Yes, yes, they'd accept him and his funky nose. No one seemed to notice that he'd already accepted himself.

Perhaps they were too busy exiling anything else 'different' onto the island of misfit toys. Square wheels? Unusual name? Off with you! In the TV special, Santa - the same guy who cast off the toys that were not 'normal' - dipped down from the sky with a jolly Ho, Ho, Ho in some reversal-of-conscience to set free the misfit toys. He hadn't noticed that they'd already stood up, square wheels and all, and found a way to dance.

In reality, the island of misfits is no island at all, but a haven in Ipswich. And Santa may be white-haired, but I've never heard you burst out in a jolly Ho, Ho, Ho. Even so, at the Service Dog Project, those of us who are different/balance-challenged/minus a wheel feel welcome.

And, you don't sweep in to save the day like the TV Santa. Instead, you honor the part of us that forges on by reaching into your sleigh and giving us a four-legged dance partner.

Thank you, Carlene. You'll go down in history.

Renee & Sir Thomas

FROM RENEE AND SIR THOMAS  WHO ARE NOW HOME TOGETEHER
Good morning,

Sir Thomas is quite the presence in the house. Not sure how people can ignore an elephant in the room because it's pretty evident when a Great Dane is walking through one!

Good news:
- Sir T LOVES his bed. It seems to be cushy as well as safe (lots of new stuff around - he's curious but at times nervous but relaxes in his bed).
- I have become the Tommy magnet. He follows me everywhere (but appears to like the kitchen best).
- He instigated play time with Elsie (our 13-yr-old Border Collie X). They've enjoyed a few romps through the yard.

Working on it news:
- The vet put him on another antibiotic (7-day) for his toe and recommended soaking it in Epsom salt 2x/day. That will be interesting to try...
- Brave Sir Thomas is quite shy with Andy. I keep telling Tommy that he'll never meet a nicer man but he remains unconvinced.
Looking forward to commuting in today for some time with Megan and the gang!

Renee

SINCE I WASTED SO MUCH TIME WITH THE FOOL RADIO  I WILL CUT ANRD PAST THIS FROM THE EXPLORE Q&A  ABOUT FOOD DISHES

WHOA--- I FORGOT TO MENTION-- WHY THE FOOD HOLDER IN THE FIRST PLACE- WE NEVER PUT A REGFULAR OLD DOG FOOD DISH ONTHE FLOOR-- THEY ARE DANGEROUS-- TRY THIS... PUT A DISH ON THE FLOOR AND JUMP UP AND DPOWN LIKE A HAPPY PUPPY/DOG AND JUST CATCH THE RIM OF THE DISH WITH YOUR TOE-- THE THING FLIPS UP AND WILL WHACKYOU IN THE SHINS WITH GREAT FORCE.. THAT COULD BE THE PUPPY'S FACR SO DON'T DO THAT ALSO I NEVER USE THOSE FLYING SAUCER PUPPY FEEDERS---- I WORRY THAT THOSE DISHES TEACH THE PUPS TO PUSH AND SHOVE FOR FOOD AT AN EARLY AGE.. THE VERY YOUNG PUPPY DISHES I USE TO START HTME ON THE FLOOR AR THE ONES WHICH TAPER OUTWARDS SO THEY CAN NOT BE TIPPED/FLIPPED. THEIR VERY EARLY WATER DISHES ARE THE SAME. WHILE ON THE TOPIC OF DISHES--- THE NORMAL "TIPPABLE" DISHES WE USE FIT PERFECTLYT IN THE 15 # BUCKETS WE GET RECYCLED FROM THE BAKERY DEPT IN COSTCO- THERE IS A LARGER DISH WHICH FITS PERFECTLY IN THE NORMAL 5 GALLON PLASTIC BUCKET... I SAW ONE OF YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT THEIR DOG EATING MUCH TOO FAST--- TO SOME DEGREE, FATST EATING IS NORMAL-- BUT THEY CAN BE SLOWED BY USING A TRAY INSTEAD OF A DISH-- WE ALSO DO THAT WITH A FAT DOG--SO IT TAKES THEM LONGER TO EAT- I AM NOT SURE THAT HAS ANY EFFECT ?AFFECT??? DARN ENGLISH MAJORS.... THAT IS A BINARY DECISION--- AND I

HAVE TROUBLE WITH BINARY DECISION UP/DOWN RIGHT/LEFT THINGS LIKE THAT.. 21 minutes ago

HEY GEORGE--
HERE'S ANOTHER PERSON WHO HAS FOUND THAT THE CANINE TOOTH GROWS   HAIRS...

 Carlene,
I was reading today's doggie daily and it is funny that you should mention hair at the canine tooth under the gums. That happens to Teal all the time.It is on the right side. I noticed this while trying to get him use to brushing his teeth!
Mandy, Jocelyn and Teal

IMAGINE THAT---AND HE THOUGHT I WAS NUTS

COME ON YOU LOT--- HAVE DAILY TOOTH INSPECTION--- WE NEED SOME  MORE STATS.
MAYBE WE COULD GET A GOV'T GRANT TO STUDY THIS  PHENOMENON  HAIRY TEETH

I THOUGHT ONLY PEOPLE WITH HANGOVERS HAD HAIRY TEETH.

MANDY ALSO WROTE A VERY NICE PARAGRAPH FOR AN WRITER WHO IS PREPARING A MAGAZINE ARTICLE ON SERVICE DOGS...
AND IF I CUT AND PASTE.. IT WILL FILL UP THIS DD

0F COURSE IF IT WAS A DISASTER I WOULD NOT COPY AND PASTE

Jocelyn is not a typical teen. She has Friedreich's Ataxia which is a progressive disorder that destroys muscle tissue. Walking has been getting very hard for her for the past 3 yrs. She has to wear leg braces at all times and always needed to hold on to someone to keep her balance.

She stayed up many nights just wanted to be "like other kids." Most of all she just wanted to be able to go to the mall with only her best friend. Until 12 weeks ago, that wasn't possible because she also has osteoporosis.
I got some information on service dogs for mobility and found Carlene at the Service Dog Project. I filled out the application and wanted to hand deliver it, so my family went to visit.

It was amazing to see so many people dedicated to such a cause. Carlene immediately gave Jocelyn and I pointers on having her hold on to a pocket on my pants while walking because that would be the level that she would be holding a harness on a service dog. From then, Jocelyn dreamed of walking by herself.
All the while, her condition was declining and her school was trying to push me into having her in a wheelchair. She was falling more and hurting herself and ended up using a wheelchair quite often. She was losing muscle due to lack of use.
Then, 4 months ago, Carlene announced that Teal was going to be Jocelyn's dog. She was so excited. Carlene and her team made sure that Teal and Jocelyn would make a great match by having us stay there for a few nights in order for Teal and Jocelyn to bond. Carlene, Megan and all the others made sure this was going to work, because Teal would also have to go to school. They even traveled to Jocelyn's school to do a presentation about service dogs to the students and staff to answer questions.

Teal has been with us for 12 weeks now and is so loved at home and school. Jocelyn's first trip to the mall with her best friend lasted 3 hours! In and out of just about every store, all by herself! A new record for her to be on her feet. She is doing more things by herself. It wouldn't have been possible without Teal.  Carlene is always there if we have any questions in regards to Teal since this is a new chapter for us. We love going to visit Carlene and the crew. Teal loves to go to play. It is so amazing to see a team so passionate for such a wonderful cause. Carlene and her team worked very hard with Teal to have him prepared to be with Jocelyn.

Jocelyn is gaining strength in her legs and is becoming an independant young lady thanks to Carlene White and the Service Dog Project. We will be forever thankful.

I HAVE A CONSTANT WORRY---
I AM GIVING PEOPLE THESE DOGS THAT THEY WILL PROBABLY OUTLIVE...

WHEN YOU GET INVOLVED WITH ANIMALS-- YOU GIVE THEM A HAPPY LIFE AND WHEN IT IS OVER IT IS OVER-- YOU HAVE TO ENJOY  THAT LIFE    AND GO ON TO THE NEXT.

I WISH I COULD FIND ANN'S LETTER WHEN THEY LOST HOMER TO INTESTINAL CANCER-- ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED-- COULD NOT POSSIBLEY GO THRU THAT AGAIN...
THEN A WEEK LATER I HAD A NOTE "LIFE WITHOUT A DANE IS NOT AN OPTION"  AND THEY HAVE GONE ON TO ENJOY KARMA.

AND TO HAVE OTHER PEOPLE ENJOY KARMA
THIS IS JIM  TAKING KARMA  TO A 102 YEAR OLD'S BITRTHDAY
SHE USED TO RAISE DANES AND WISHED FOR THIS VISIT.
WE FOUND OUT ABOUT THE MAKE A WISH THRU THE DANE COMMUNITY.

September 26, 2012

in the thank heavens department

Teal has done VERY well the past few days at school with Jocelyn . Although, he chewed the rope of his chain. I have no idea why. I assume he was bored ( in school). Pete made a make-shift one to go on his chain, but it isn't as good as yours.Jocelyn wanted me to ask if she should bring something for him to chew on at school or if that would take him out of WORK mode.
Thanks,
Mandy, Jocelyn and Teal

for newcommers ... one year old teal weighs 140 pounds jocelyn weighs 57 pounds and she just started school with him-- up til now the school preferreed to treat her like a sack of flour with an aid pushing her around in a wheelchair... and once forgot to take her to lunch

they don't forget her now. and she is walking !!!!
other big excitement of the day---- we are getting a few new donor names on the chicken sh#t wall-- i think some of these explore, org viewers have started to donate the $10 for the next sh#tting which will be October 7th ..
i am not too sure where we will do it this time-- we can do it within range of the puppy hill camera if they swing the camera around to the left-- which would put the scaffolding full of laundry in view----( scaffolding is perfect for hanging heavy bedspreads-- of which we use plenty)
i am not sure if explore would want to broadcast this fundraising project.
we-- theresa--- has attempted to broadcast it live--- with random success
for you newcomers... rather than describe the intricacies of this... there is -- on our web www.servicedogproject.org a link to chicken bingo and under the funny chicken is a link to a short video of an actual sh#tting.
before anyone says anything --- first step in this process it to catch 3 HENS WHO ARE FREE RANGE CHICKENS- THE HENS DON'T SEEM TO MIND BEING ASKED TO PERFORM.... HOWEVER....
---THE FIELD CONTAINS A ROOSTER WHO IS A REAL SOB.. WOULD BE CALLED DANGEROUS IN MOST ANY OTHER SITUATION.. HERE HE TEACHES RESPECT TO PEOPLE WHO DISMISS HIS DIMUNITIVE SIZE. IT IS ALWAYS GOOD FUN TO WATCH SOME CITY SLICKER TRY AND PICK UP A HEN WHILE DODGING A ROOSTER IN ATTACK MODE... WE GET OUR KICKS...
JUST TO BE SURE WE KEEP ALL BASES COVERED-- WE HAVE ONE PERSON -- DESIGINATED "FIRST AID KIT HOLDER"

WHICH REMINDS ME THAT KIT IS OUT OF BANDAIDS---
WE HAVE A PERMIT TO RUN A XXXXXXXXXXX--- I THINK.. BUT THE PERMIT IS 5 PAGES LONG WITH WORDS LIKE RAFFLE.. BINGO.. .PRIZES.. PERCENTAGES .. DO THIS ... DON'T DO THAT...
YOU ARE ACTUALLY DONAting $10 toward the purchase of puppy food.. should a hen deposit a plop on your number you will be rewarded by me personally a sum 50 times your 10.. i figure that is so convoluted by the time the attorney general's office untangled that and puts it on some judge's calendar .. we will have folded our tent.... and if we are really lucky we could get Dr Bob 's wife as the judge ( remember dr.bob of fly IQ fame)
******************
now for the educational part of this daily doggie....
nearly every pup of the harlequin bloodlines has a white tip on their tail. sometimes it is only one or two hairs.. so check that from the video cameras

now for the hypothecated argument with george (DVM)
IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO CAN ADD ANY STATISTICS TO THIS study....
when i clean a dog's teeth---which is not often enough i admit... i find-- very often a black hair lying on the tooth and into the gum of the dog's eye tooth. i happened often enough for me to notice it..
so i told george---- they grew a hair out of their tooth..-- he rAaved on about RIDICULOUS -- FROM licking-- black dog-- picked up a hair which landed there.
i did not believe him for one minute-- he was looking for the easy way out
but i went along with him UNTIL--- I WAS STANDING AROUND WITH HIM -- I HAD BAILEY WITH ME-- AND I JUST NOTICED She had one black haIR IN HER CANINE TOOTH. BAILEY IS ALL WHITE--
HE HAD NO ANSWER-- GEORGE WITHOUT AN ANSWER IS A VERY UNUSUAL THING .
SO NOW IF I FEEL THE NEED TO RILE HIM UP ALL I HAVE TO DO IS SAY "BAILEY HAD A BLACK HAIR"

September 25, 2012

do not expect any  stroke of brilliance today

but i can explain what it is like to live with a pregnant dane  named chaos----

last night we had our 9pm walk around ( which is very late for me) spoon fed her 1/2 can of food....
and  at midnight i woke to a whimpering.. got up and let her out -

she went out the door-- turned around -- came in immediately and went for the 55 gal; drum of food..  hungry...
i gave her 2 cups of dry  and a tiny dribble for lulu -- went to bed---

3:00  more whimpering-- she has the conversation down pat now-- i let her out and she disappeared- pushing the door open to come back in  about 5 minutes later-- and went straight for th e icebox--- where i had left the 1/2 can of food...

absolutely no question... she wanteed the other 1/2 can--- so i fed her that
by 5:00  the 2 buckets of fresh water in the kitchen were not up to her standards and she needed them refreshed-- so i did that and stayed up.
********************
today will be a ride around in th golf cart day--
thT WILL WORK
bud2 said he would be around-
and if i  fall asleep at the golf cart wheel-- he can drive.

paul goes to boston today to try and get his broken arm fixed.

if any volunteers want to come do quiet walkarounds  with dogs today-- they could stand some attention

get some private instrucxtion from megan about never tighten a leash...
or if i am awake... ask me

September 24, 2012

writing this thing is getting more difficult as it is now posted on our web to be read by people who do not know me/us-- at least yet--

they have not heard my tiraide about how you can not peal a boiled egg if it is not 3 weeks old and are not used to the fact that there are frozen dead rats in the guest house freezer.

for people who have asked to be put on the daily doggie list, i try and send them an introduction which i will cut and paste at the bottom of this DD

that leaves me explaining how the rats got in the freezer ---
****************
it is a bit of a story---
if you have not thought about it... we use a lot of food.- and this is basically a farm.
we had a food storage room---- IN THE LAUNDRY BUILDING... so if we were fortunate enough to have someone donate a pallet of dog food--- we could handle it.

last fall - we were doing fine til mother nature saw fit to donate a nice young newlywed couple of healthy rats--- who were very prolific. they then invited some of their friends to join them in this bonanza of stored dog food buffet......- to the point that the bottom bag of a stack was empty-

we had to change our system and moved the food storage to an ambulance which was once our main transportation vehicle ( don't knock it-- i could find it in the parking lot at the mall)- so we loaded up the food-- and weekly would move the ambu-- - hopefully to keep the rats from finding it.

looking for new rodent apartments, they moved into the house-
giselle was the first rat tenant... and we could deal with one--- but when one of giselle's friends ran out of the file cabinet and across my lap- i realized we needed to send an eviction notice

great danes consider rat chasing beneath them-- they were   bred for wild boar -- they just watched these silly things

so we called in a specialist.. a jack russell named kelly from a rescue outfit in north carolina.
kelly was truly a specialist--the size of 1/2  a great dane  head.... she promptly terrified all the danes----, bit all the volunteers-- and caught rats.
these rats were very fat and healthy-- no garbage eating for them !!- getting the trophy rat from kelly was tricky--- but she was anxious for the next chase- so we bagged them -- froze them- and started
the frozen rodent delivery company..... delivering the fresh frozen critters to george--- our veternarian-- who rehabs owls and hawks -- he was delighted-- knowing we have no poisons on the property they were just what he needed.

and to take advantage of every possibility... george preferred that we did not waltz into his waiting room with a bag of dead rats--  we use the back door..    so now if we have a sick dog-- we use the back door.. or better yet .. get george to come out the back door to our van without having to go into his hospital..

so that is why the dead rats in the freezer

i said it was a long story.

p.s.  kell;y is now with a jack russel family and we borrow her back if needed on a daily basis...
******************************************
yesterday----
the santa dress rehersal needs some work--
we need to work the dogs  more and  better.  most notably-- when you  are dealing with a dog who is balanced on something-- you must not push them sideways to try and balance them  you should not even touch them----- that makes matters worse and  they will really push sideways and knock  another dog off the ramp.- there are two dogs who may not be recoverable--- so we may have santa's hitch of 6 dogs and 2 photoshopped heads...

also they need collars to hold the harness forward-- having a harness slide off the dogs rear - tangling inhei feet was not conducive to standing still

by far the best dog was lulu--  who was thrilled to run up the ramp and pose for beef----- whether we needed her to or not...
we were using all black dogs--- bailey stood in the rear thinking "idiots i know what is needed."

santa is a great  santa--  all natural white hair and beard with jolly belly---  his car license is    ST NICK--  i wonder what explore thought of santa with the pups--- we got some good still shots...
***************
chaos was thrilled to have earlene  here cutting beef--- and paul- with h is broken arm took a nap with her in the sun -- she is devoted to them in spite of the fact that she lives here because they can not take her  where they live..... she is getting round...  we will place bets as to how many--

and   here we go  -- for the newcomers-- that is how many  nursing...  sometimes........

chaos is now living  in the house  --- in prep for whelping...  not that she needs it-- she has lived in the house before with the  last litter... she now gets the priority sofas...
*****
food wise  we had a lovely time--- but in respect for our general health-- people should be bringing more salad  or casserole  type stuff..   we had desert overload--- not that i minded... but......  sugar overload  big time.
*****
today schedule--

no polly and bob-- they are  away..

i will do the chaos waltz  in front of the camera after megan feeds the pups  - i am told their breakfast takes 18 seconds.

and i will go and mark th e  new deagle house for electrical install-- all the elect will be on one side  so we could go ahead and  insulate the far 6' x 30' which is where the kennel beds will go.

there will be a 12 x 12   "reading room"
why not. !

HERE IS THE  DAILY DOGGIE INTRO  WHICH SHOULD GO TO NEWCOMEERS

the daily doggie is supposed to be an email to keep the many volunteers

many times it is the 1/2 awake rambling done pre coffee before 8am...-- *****just hit that delete button/
some things need explaining
the cast of characters
Mary --- is not a volunteer--- but a 750 pound donkey who wanders loose on the property looking for treats--- a piece of bagel---lump of carrot-- apple core--- things like that.. you want to stay on the good side of mary- she can carry a grudge for 10 years--- like--- don't give pony rides on her unless you have treats. she understands a paycheck. and keep your fingers away from her white nose--- the black part is usually fine.
ginney the jenny from virginia is a new- spotted smaller donkey of unknown origin and temperament. ( rescued from the kill pens) seems agreeable but worried..
megan-- full time trainer ---also chief cook and bottle washer
( day off is Saturday)
colleen trainer part time tues wed thurs afternoons
hillary- pre med --friend of megan- Saturday chores and sometimes more days ---typical college student--- bright and broke. a good thing.
theresa- office and paper department - she remembers things really well tues -fri 10 to 2

supervised children are welcome--- you must be within 2 feet of a 2 year old and 5 feet of a 5 year old- etc on up-- this is a working farm and is basically a dangerous place--- keys in tractors--golf carts-- stone walls -- plus puppy toenails etc..
happy dogs flattening unsupervised children so they can clean off their faces licking them is not a fun thing.

IT IS AMAZING WHAT WE  HUMANS  CAN BE TRAINED TO DO...
BUGS-- MY MOTHER USED TO SAY "IF IT AIN'T ANTS, IT IS FLEAS"

SOMEWHERE I FOUND AN ARTICLE ABOUT "WILL YOU STOP THE PANIC ABOUT FLEAS"-- AND WITH OUR VARIOUS  ANTI FLEA ACTIVITY  WE STILL HAVE A FEW....I CAN HEAR GEORGE NOW  "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FEW FLEAS"  THEY ARE PROLIFIC LITTLE BUGGERS TRUE.. BUT I HAVE DONE A LITTLE EXPIRIMENTING WITH  FLEAS-- AND I KNOW THAT IF I PICK A FAT LOOKING HEALTHY FLEA OFF THE DOG AND DROP IT INTO A SOLUTION OF DISHWASHER ( DAWN) THAT IT DOES NOT SWIM WELL AND ALL MOTION CEASES QUICKLY.   .

HAVING BEEN BATTERED WITH THE "THERE ARE MILLIONS IF THERE IS ONE" OF THE FLEA PRODUCT PEOPLE,( AND GEORGE) .... LAST NIGHT  I WAS CONVINCED I HAD A FLEA IN MY HAIR. I COULD FEEL IT-- I WAS SURE...

SO I WENT INTO ATTACK MODE---- BEING ARMED WITH THAT ONE DISHWASHER FACT....-- WHICH I KNEW TO BE TRUE-- BECAUSE I TESTED IT . I WENT THRU AN AMAZING GYRATIUON  OF TRYING TO GET ONLY  MY HAIR SUBMERGED IN  A BUCKET OF DAWN --  LIVING ALONE DOES HAVE IT'S VIRTUES...  NO ONE WAS HERE TO TELL ME HOW RIDICULOUS   THIS ALL LOOKED

EVEN DUNKED AND SOAKED... I FACED RINSING-- AND THE ONLY PLACE I COULD DUNK, RINSE AND INSPECT WAS THE WHITE  TUB...

I AM HAPPY TO REPORT I DID NOT DROWN AND THERE WERE NO DEAD FLOATERS---
IF THERE IS A FLEA LEFT IS IT AN AMPHIBIOUS FLEA.

WHICH MADE ME WONDER .... IS THERE AN AMPHIBIOUS FLEA???

I COULD NOT ASK DR. BOB ABOUT THAT
-- HE HAD ALREADY GIVEN ME HIS DISCERTATION  ON  FLEAS BEING ELIMINATED BYONE PILL-- CAPSTAR--" WHICH CAUSED THEM TO  FLING THEMSELVES JOYOUSLY FROM A DOG IN AN ORGIASTIC  RIOT OF HYPEREXCITABILITY BEFORE EXPIRING"

HERE ARE HIS COMPLETE NOTES

Pretty intriguing about Capstar killing all those fleas. Took a few
> minutes to look it up. Like lots of pesticides it's a neurotransmitter
> mimic. It mimics natural neurotransmitters in the flea's little nervous
> system so it pretty much screws up all the neurons in their little bodies.
> Then they get paralyzed. Then they die.
>
> The good news is that it does not mimic any puppy neurotransmitters so it
> doesn't bother them at all.
>
> I liked this line though, "Capstar produces hyperexcitability in fleas
> prior to death." Most pesticides just paralyze the fleas so they curl up
> and pass away somewhere buried deep in the fur. But with Capstar,
> apparently, they fling themselves joyously from the dog in an orgiastic
> riot of hyperexcitability before expiring. Hmm, do you think that part
> might be fun for the fleas? You never know. Maybe that's why she found

> need the blood to be exposed to the Capstar.
>

Let us know how your experiment goes. Would be most interested if

I AM GLAD YOU ALL ENJOYED DR.BOB'S DISSERTATION ON THE IQ OF A FLY...
A COLLEGE FRIEND  OF MY DAUGHTER GWEN... HE AND I HAVE SOLVED MANY PROBLEMS OVER THE YEARS...

THE ONLY TERRIBLE DISAGREEMENT WE HAVE HAD... WAS THE DAY I BECAME VERY AGGITATED OVER THE TIDE CHART IN TH E BOSTON GLOBE.

HE HAS A PROBLEM WITH MY CONVICTION THAT WATER FLOWS DOWN HILL-- AND SEEKS IT'S OWN LEVEL--

ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE TROUBLE WITH THAT -- ESPECIALLY THOSE IN NEW ORLEANS --

CASE IN POINT--- AS OF 15 YEARS AGO--( AND SORRY TO SAY   I WAS SO UPSET I HAVE NOT CHECKED THE TIDE CHARTS SINCE....) IF THE HIGH TIDE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BANGOR MAINE AND BOSTON IS 6 MINUTES, WHAT IS GOING ON IN NEW BEDFORD WHERE TOWNS AROUND THERE HAVE 3 OR 4 HOURS DIFFERENCE IN HIGH TIDE.?

ROBERT BURNS SAID  "NAE MAN CAN TETHER TIME NOR TIDE"  AND I BELIEVED HIM--
WELL  SOMEBODY ON THE  CAPE IS SCREWING AROUND WITH  IT-- THERE HAS TO BE A BIG PILE OF WATER SLOSHING AROUND FULL OF ENERGY...

FORGET THE WINDMILLS-- WATER IS FULL OF ENERGY-- ESPECIALLY IN A PILE.

I NEVER LIKED BOB'S  EXPLINATION--
HE TRIED TO SIDE TRACK ME BY SAYING HIS BIG CONCERN ABOUT THE ATLANTIC WAS  THE "BALANCE OF NATURE"-----THAT ALOT OF FOOD IS GROWN IN CALIFORNIA- THEN SHIPPED TO THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ON THE EAST COAST - WHO CHEWED IT SWALLOWED IT AND PASSED IT INTO THE  ATLANTIC  WHEN IT'S ORIGIN WAS WEST OF THE ROCKIES--I.E. PACIFIC ORIENTED..

I DID NOT LIKE HIS SOLUTION THERE EITHER.

SOOOOOO... REALLY GOOD NEWS
Teal and Jocelyn went back to school on Wed. this week. He was a little timid going in ( like" Oh, we're HERE again"), but he did great. As for today, Jocelyn said he was even better today. There was a fire drill again at school ( it seems like they do them weekly) and Teal walked about 15 feet farther than before. The school is working with Jocelyn and Teal with the fire drills instead of complaining. I thought for sure they would be complaining more or trying to find Teal's faults, but they all love him!! He is broken from his bathroom fear for the most part. The cat still wears the pants in their relationship!! We are hoping to be down to visit either this Sunday or next Sunday!!

Thanks,
Mandy, Jocelyn and Teal

SHE IS WALKING !!  THAT 7 SECOND VIDEO SAYS IT  ALL... IF I CAN FIND IT I WILL ATTACH IT-- IT IS SIDEWAYS-- BUT THAT IS THE BEST  I CAN DO.
************

MEGAN AND I STOPPED IN AT THE IPSWICH MIDDLE SCHOOL WITH FIONA AND LULU--  WHAT A PERFECT CROWD TRAINING PLACE-- IT IS FAR BETTER THAN CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
JUST TO GO THERE AND STAND AROUND AT CLASS CHANGING TIME--- WAS GOOD FOR A MONTH OF NORTH SHORE MALL VISITS.

I CAN REPORT THAT LULU HAS GOOD RECOVERY TIME
SHE GAVE ONE HS (HOLY SH#T)  AND THEN SETTLED TO WORRY MILDLY...
MEGAN AND FIONA TALKED WITH THE PRINCIPAL WHO SEEMED TO ACCEPT US.

IT IS USUALLY A CASE OF -- BY THE TIME THEY FIND US  WE HAVE ACCOMPOLISHED WHAT WE NEEDED TO DO. ... EXPOSED THE  DOGS TO CROWDS..
**************
SO NOW...   HAVING DEALT WITH THE TIDES....THE WEATHER IS OUR NEXT PROBLEM.
IN AN EFFORT NOT TO TURN ON THE HEAT ANY SOONER THAN WE HAVE TO... WE NEED TO GET WOOD PILED NEXT TO THE VARIOUS STOVES=.

AN OIL COMPANY CALLED TO OFFER ME A SPECIAL DEAL  $3.89 PER GALLON OF HEATING OIL  - WHEN I PUT IN ALL THESE FURNASES OIL WAS $1.15--  BESIDES THAT -- OUR FURNASES USE KEROSENE-    BARN--LAUNDRY--GUEST CABIN-- 2 INTHE HOUSE.  THEY ARE GREAT--- BLOWING HOT AIR  VENTING THRU THE WALL.  BUT HEAT IS A CONSTANT WORRY.

THE PUP'S ROOM HAS A SIZEABLE ELECTRIC HEATER-

NOW THINK--- BLIZZARD AND LOSS OF ELECTRICITY--   THESE DOGS HAVE NOT WINTER COAT --- AND I CAN NOT PUT JACKETS ON THEM AND LEAVE THEM TO GET TANGLED SOMEHOW--- WE NEED TO GET  OUR EMERGENCY SNOW CHAIN  SET UP.. SO  IF A STORM IS COMING-- EVERYONE NEAR HERE TAKES A DOG OR TWO SO THE REST CAN GET IN WHERE THERE ARE WOOD STOVES -- LIKE MY KITCHEN-- THE LAUNDRY-- THE TRAINING ROOM -- GUEST HOUSE--NUTT HOUSE AND DEAGLE HOUSE.

WHICH IS ALOT OF WOOD LUGGING...  BETTER WE DO THAT NOW.,

THANKS TO BUD1'S  WOOD SPLITTING TALENTS  WE HAVE A HUGE PILE OF FIREWOOD..

ACTUALLY -- I HAVE ONE UNTRIED COAL STOVE-- BETTER GET THAT TRIED...

ALONG THOSE SAME LINES---  PLEASE   --- EVERYONE WANDERING -- EVERY DOOR IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER NEXT TO IT... AS YOU GO THRU, GLANCE TO BE SURE THEY ARE ALL  OK--- AND IF YOU ARE REALLY ORGANIZED-- WRITE THE DATE ON THE TAG.... MAKES US LOOK GOOD.

*************
I NEED TO FUGURE OUT WHY THE PUPS SLEEP NEXT TO THE DOOR IN THE PUPPY ROOM---  WHY DO THEY PILE THERE-- IT HAS TO BE THE COOLEST PLACE IN THAT ROOM--
MUST GBE A REASON.. IT IS NOT MORE PADDED...

NORMAL SCHEDULE
 I THINK...
OUT LATE MORNING IF POSSIBLE

September 20, 2012

what?  no cut and paste.??

that doesn't leave me with a supply of morning cheer.... leaving me only with the business of the day...

what better to start with than
the STOOL REPORT--  we have not had one of those in a long time..

now about the puppies---( who's pooping area is sometimes visible with the explore.org camera...)we expect to see a bit of "spagetti" in their stools today as megan poured the wormer in their supper--- we are a week late in doIng that-- so the results could be spectacular.. other than that-- they have been perfect cylindars piled up very nicely
..... with hardly any trod-upons.-

as for the rest.... i have heard minimal complaints from megan aBOUT ANY PANCAKES -- OR PROJECTILE POOS...  I AM NOT SURE WHYNOT.. ALL THE EXCUSES WE USE----LIKE GIARDIA IN THE GROUNDWATER BECAUSE OF THE GEESE---   A RE STILL THERE--- AND  NOT ONLY HAVE WE NOT HAD ANY FLAT PANCAKES, WE HAVE HAD SOME REAL ANKLE TWISTING GOLF BALL TYPES !!!

LIFE IS GOOD.

COULD BE THAT WITH  THE SLIGHT  INCREASE IN THE CHICKEN SH#T BINGO MONEY (SEE  THE BOTTOM OF THIS EMAIL AND GET WITH THE PROGRAM)  I HAVE  BEEN ABLE TO ATTACK THE VARIOUS WORMING MEDS BY BUYING "ALLWORMER" RECOMMENDED BY AN AUSTRALIAN  TRAINER WE MET AT AN ADI CONFERENCE IN VANCOUVER..

IT COSTS-- ALOT--- EVEN IF IT IS SHIPPED FREE---
THE COMPARABLE  IS AVAilaBLE IN THE US  BUT THE COMBINATIONS OF MEDS AND THE MADISON AVENUE APPROACH TO THE LABELING  MAKES IT MUCH EASIER TO JUST BUY THE  STUFF FROM AUSTRALIA-

THEIR  LABEL IS SIMPLE-
CONTROLS A LARGE LIST OF KNOWN WORMS ---EXCEPT HEARTWORM
TREAT YOUR DOG FOR FLEAS
DON'T LET THEM EAT OFFAL  ( THAT IS AUSTRALIAN FOR  SH#T)
OK FOR PREGO'S
ONE TABLET PER 40KG OF BODY WEIGHT.  THAT IS THE ONLY HARD PART   APPARENTLY 40KG  IS ABOUT 80 POUNDS.

SO WHILE I WAS AT IT-- WANDERING AROUND THE AUSTRALIAN SUPPLIER-- I LOOKED UP CAPSTAR  and bought some.-- I HAVE HEARD INTERESTING THINGS ABOUT CAPSTAR

"GAVE MY DOG ONE PILL AND PUT HIM  IN THE BATHROOM- 15 MINUTES LATER THE FLOOR WAS COVERED WITH  HUNDREDS OF DEAD FLEAS."

THAT IS WHAT I SHOULD HAVE  RUN BY DR.BOB

HOW DOES CAPSTAR WORK..?? IF All those fleas were  biting the dog and ingested  the capstar that way the dog would be covered with  hundreds of little blood marks - this apparently was not true.

apparently the stuff does work-- apparently-- i hear-- not from george  that it is used in vet hospitals for the dog that comes in covered with fleas as sort of the instant flea bath-- it has no residual effect- the only thing i did hear from george was that he only had a few pills LEFT   .... hmmmm interesting.

so i went online and found many sites i  searched had "out of stock til oct 15th"    more  hmmmmmm
so back to australia catalog--- they had the  brand which could not be shipped to the usa-- but they had their brand duplicate which was about 1/2 the price of the brand in the usa-- and shipping was free

so we have a package coming from australia-- takes about 5 days-

should be interesting to play with ... we have a huge supply of hotel sheets given to us-- so i have visions of giving a dog a pill and see how many drop off...

to be continued--

other news-- maria came last night and picked up vanilla to work with
she found- once again that a home without a dane is  very lonely-- she is a great trainer-- and she has 5 kids-- so a dog in her house becomes bomb proof--- ( so faR ANYWAY--- SHE  HAD ?7 OF MY DOGS SO FAR??) WE GO  WAAAAAY BACK---
INCLUDING OUR FIRST TRIP TO THE GALA IN NY WHERE WE ENDED UP CHECKING INTO A MOTEL WITH 4 PUPPIES STUFFEED UNDER HER JACKET.

ONWARD...

September 19, 2012

WITH ALL THE DISCUSSION AT EXPLORE.ORG ABOUT FLIES AND THE PUPS.... THERE IS A VIRTUAL CLOUD OF FLIES THIE YEAR....

SUNDAY--- IF YOU WANTED TO EAT A CORN ON TH E
COB-- YOU HAD TO RUN AROUND THE YARD A 25 MILES AN HOUR TO KEEP AHEAD OF THE FLYS TRYING TO EAT THE SAME EAR OF CORN....

THEN -----YESTERDAY -....I STARTED "TOYING" WITH THE FLY ON MY COMPUTER SCREEN TO SEE IF I COULD GET HIM/HERTO REPLICATE ANY MOVEMENTS RELATED TO MOVING MY CURSER.-- AND I SEEMED TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT..

THIS MADE ME WONDER IF THERE HAD EVER BEEN A GOVERNMENT GRANT TO STUUDY THE  IQ OF A FLY.

THIS MADE ME TURN TO A FRIEND --- DR. BOB--- DEAN OF SOMETHING SOMEWHERE-----WHO HAS ALL SORTS OF FANCY DEGREES AND A SUPER INQUISITIVE MIND----HE HAS NEVER LAUGHED AT ANY QUESTION I MIGHT HAVE ABOUT THE ORDER OF SCIENCE AND NATURE.
***************************
HIS REPLY

Ah, I see it’s the old fly and the cursor question. It’s an interesting
question, but I’m not so sure if you can get a grant for it.

First off, flies do have brains. They’re collection of neurons called
mushroom bodies. I think they call them mushroom bodies because when they first found them they didn’t know what they did. They were just these
clumps of cells in their heads that were mushroom shaped so they called
them mushroom bodies. Later on someone figured it out – “Hey, that’s their
brains”.

Flies can do some learning with these brains. They can remember smells
they’ve run into before (flies like smells) and they can memorize parts of
the landscape which helps them navigate. Interestingly people who study
this do so by comparing normal flies with a mutant fly called “*amnesiac*”.
Amnesiac flies have a bad gene and so they forget stuff. It does raise the
question – if a fly was forgetting stuff how could you tell? I guess you
would need to get a grant.

Which leads to the cursor. Flies have enough brains to see it and remember
it, but I don’t think they would play with it. Flies don’t play. What they
always say is that if a bug is doing something unusual there’s two
possibilities; it’s either about food or it’s about sex. So, the fly shows
inordinate interest in your cursor and cursors don’t smell good and they
don’t taste good, in fact there’s nothing food like about them. Given this,
I think we are drawn to one inescapable conclusion about this fly and his
feelings toward your cursor.

Remember, it’s real to him, inside of his little mushroom bodies. Perhaps
the other flies don’t understand his feelings toward cursors, but I hope
that you do and will take the time to nurture and support this budding
relationship.

Or else you could swat him.

Sincerely,
Dr. B.

this is the next   HELP project-- kitty that means you specially  as set designer......
for the December photo of santa's airborne sleigh pulled by 8 danes....

i have gathered the pieces---  santas sleigh-- 2 very long ladders ( one still needs 14.25 plywood cut)  concrete blocks-- because those ladders sag with 4 danes on them... white curtain ---  tracy wrapped a bunch of  boxes as christmas presents-- i have the coat hangers. and fuzzys to make them antlers,  the harness has red pads...

we need a beard and red jacket for bailey on the seat

4 dogs have done the one ladder----  we need to get the other 4 in line ( literally)  but two are bumpy and luna   who are  steady...

today being rainy-- megan can get 2 more blacks ?pumpkin or stanley  maybe jade can bring over sammy??? for a dry run  so that i can then line up william to take the shot... maybe sat or sunday--- --

we tried this with harlequins-- but the harness etc was too "busy"  the black dogs look better.

bailey and chaos in the tree with the cat at the bottom is such a great shot   we need to make this  as good.

Good news. I have a designer on board to put together the SDP calendar for us - her time is pro bono and I will confirm incidental costs are also pro bono. Getting pro bono print production is a little trickier. Printers don't do that so much these days. I will keep pursuing.

Do you want to meet next week to select your favorite 12 images? I know there are some images to be shot (i.e. Santa), so we could put a placeholder on some months.

I'm LOVIN' "Puppy Hill" and "Puppy Room"...we watch the puppies being fed every morning. The comments are pretty funny too.

today i will set up the roving camera again itn the arena in case it is too rainy

and i need to do that before 8
so i am out of here.

LESSON   #975  IN DOG  MANAGEMENT  FROM SERENA
flopper/ben/guinness had that anaplasmosis tick carried disease and started having STRANGE  nose bleeds  i took him to the vet , they had him on some major meds and he was fine after that, alive and happy for another 2 years!
i was lucky that it presented first with nose bleeds.

I ALMOST HAD THE PROBLEM WITH PURPLE  - NOT DUE TO TICKS BUT SINCE SHE WAS 10+ AND GETTTING ARTHRITIC.. I PUT HER ON ASPRIN-- WITHOUT GEORGE'S ADVICE--- AND I NOTICED  PINK DROOL AS SHE CHEWED A PIECE OF PVC PIPE-- IT WAS A TINY LACERATION-- BUT IT WOULD NOT QUIT..  GEORGE HAD TO BAIL ME OUT...  PURPLE WAS MY "BAILEY" ---  TRAINED TO DO NOTHING  AND COULD DO  MOST ANYTHING.
*****
AND THEN FROM PINK'S JOB---

Carlene,

Serious question about Pink - how does she know how to stop me from falling? And how does she know how to do it in exactly the right way? Last week while we were still in the hospital she stopped a fall in a way that was remarkable and has left me scratching my head.

We were outside and I was walking down a very slight hill on a sidewalk when I lost my balance and started stumbling downhill. This is absolutely the worst type of fall for me as I am picking up speed before I actually fall. I have broken my elbow in this type of fall before. As I was stumbling I dropped Pink's leash and just had my left hand lightly on her harness. Every person with a balance disorder knows this feeling - you know you're going down you're just wondering how bad it's going to be.

But I did not go down and it is because of Pink. At this point a human would have tried to stop my fall by grabbing my arm and stopping my forward motion. This usually results in a wrenched arm as well as broken bones. Pink, leashless and pretty much on her own began to lean gently against my left side, supporting me, while she moved with me. This slowly slowed me down while her support helped me to regain my balance. As we reached the bottom of the hill I was upright and totally balanced!

Here is the other cool thing. Pink knew just what she had done and what a very good girl she was. She immediately began wagging her tail and looking up at me with that drunk with happiness look dogs get - tongue hanging out pupils dialated as she leaned against me. As I hugged and patted her with many good girls and thank yous I don't think I've ever been so grateful to anyone as I was to her in that moment.

So, how in the world did she do this? And I must pass on my thank yous and good girls to all of you!

Michele and Pink
