There are only 2  main roads  out of florida  95 on the east and 75 on the west- everything else is a spagetti  bowl- i will never understand why people wait to be told to evacuate-- horror stories about  7 lanes on 95 solid northbound traffic with one lane going south with tank trucks trying to get enough gas at the bottom of florida to get people  on teh road... police cruizers running around with quarts of gas trying to get stuck cars off the highway-- granted the probability and possibility do not say 100% where it will land-- but the more relavant probaility is that  if it does land in your back yard there will be a 100% mess that no  sand bag will alleviate.  living in your car  in  the hills of north carolina  will be a far  more comfortable situation than  what may happen in florida.  if you get high enough in the hills,   teh streams of water would probably be as safe to drink as rainwater in florida when they run out of bottles from maine... - just stay upstream from the herd. my father always worried that  most of florida is only 3' above sea level anyway... i don't know about the truth- but he said that enough so i got to believe it.  his basic concern was-- there is no "off" to runoff to. with 15 inches of rain predicted--  and i was stuck there-- i would  not be filling sand bags, but devising something to hold a plastic bag open to  directly catch teh rainwater  before it  ran off some roof that had previously had birds flying over it.  a trash can with a garbage bag tied open with some hay string could  work   at least better than nothingl. **** we are probably going to have to battle kennel cough--not a good thing-- also not usually terrible either...  we had one dog--   carefully isolated  -- now we have  ?3? hacking away...--Usually... with healthy dogs-- which ours are-- it is just a messy noisy  interlude  that will pass... will pass after spreading it to most of the dogs here.  it produces a hacking gaggin cough-- then hopefully goes away.. the only reason to give the dogs antibiotic is to prevent another complication-- like pnemonia -- but filling up all teh dogs with antibiotic is no great idea unless absoluely necessary--   the  vaccine which is promoted constantely is not known to be effective 100%  as apparently there are "strains" of kennel cough... and it is not to be given to pups under 8 weeks anyway. so - other than being super careful with dish washing etc... we can only ride it out..  the akc discription says it is transmitted by.. both  airborne and saliva  anyway- i do know it is extremely contageous-- so expect it. i kind of put it in the catagory of "teh strangles " in horses which are shipped around teh cuntry--- seems like every state they go thru they pick up teh latest strain of strangles and have a drippy nose for 2 weeks. also   like kids in kindergarden. **** a possible impending disaster for sure---  like the heracain why is that not a HIMACAiN????-

gabby is resignign from motherhood---   she really refuses to feed these 9 pups anymore...(lyn will pick her up next tuesday)--- this is the point at which humans can only appreciate what doggie mothers do for their pups as we attempt to keep up with the growing demand-- and i mean that literally'-

not only the incoming food-- but when we start feeding the pups gRUel and canned... mommys stop cleaning up after them--- it is only little cylindars at the moment -- and very easy to  poo pick with our good supply of poo picking devices -- 

instantaneous poo picking  keeps teh place sweet smelling because it is actually the stepping in --and sliding around which distribute that typical puppy odor-- OF WHICH WE HAVE NONE.-

 SOME OF OUR MORE ASTUTE PUPPY SITTERS CAN SLIDE A POO PICKER UNDERNEATH THE IMPENDING DISTRIBUTION BEFORE IT HITS THE FLOOR.-- THERE ARE EXPERTS IN EVERY FIELD.  EXPERTS STUDY TEH THE TILT OF THE TAIL, AND HAVE THE  SPEED AND AGILITY OF A PROFESSIONAL TENNIS PLAYER.

THEY ARE NEARLY READY TO AT LEAST GO OUTSIDE  IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE....

You said that going to PT & doctor’s appts, etc wasn’t enough, and I had to go out into the community if I were matched. It was a rather scary thought at the time, because I was trying so hard to get better that it took almost all my energy, so I had little left for fun. As it turns out, I just needed the perfect partner to help me walk better - to regain strength & renew my confidence. Well, here we are, almost 3 years later :) Last week, we went to a musical at our community theater. Here is something that should make you  and the trainers proud (as well as everyone who played a role in raising Seagram): after the show ended, as people shuffled out, two women cane up to us. The first said,  “There is the other star of the show.” (this is my favorite recent quote about Seagram) And her friend added, “She was so good! She was the best behaved dog I have ever seen!” They were interested to hear about how Seagram helps me walk, since they are physical therapists. I explained that I needed a walker or a cane for a few years before we were matched. I gave them one of Seagram’s business cards, and explained about the puppies on the Explore cameras. In addition, I suggested that they consider if they have any patients with mobility issues. One of the women commented about Seagram’s height, and I explained that is one of the reasons we were matched together. Not long after, I stood up with Seagram’s help. As the woman walked away, she said approvingly, “She (Seagram) is right at the greater trochanter.*” *the bony bump at the top of the outside of the leg, just below the hip. (Apparently this landmark is used to determine the proper length of a cane.) I thought you would be happy to hear that we are indeed out in the community regularly - and not only that, but so many people recognize us. The best part about this recognition is that it is not just since Seagram is noteable for her size, but because of her excellent manners and helpfulness.  Thank you so much for Seagram! Amy

let me get  at least one thing strainght- i do not  twit,  link, face books, drop boxes...,or any other of the miriad of complications to sending a simple letter.  i send this daily doggie out  in bulk with constant contact- --CC-- only because aol would not send it out to teh number of emails on sdp list-  there is some spam law- ( tho from the #$%^&* i get,   i can't say the law is very effective.)

    CC has some way of  "unsubscribing"  from the constant contact-- and they apparently do some checking for duplications... i don't.,, ocaSIONALLY ONE EMAIL GETS DROPPED AT RANDOM AND I/ OR YOU HAVE TO SWEAR YOU WANT TO RECIEVE IT .. STATISTICS??? OVER 1000 PEOPLE OPEN AND READ IT  DAILY--- AND I CAN  CALL UP EACH ONE BY EMAIL ADDRESS... AND I DO EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE -- LIKE WHEN I AM "ON HOLD" AND CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE TO DO.  I HAVE A FEW HIGHSCHOOL FRIENDS I KEEP TRACK OF BY SEEING JUST WHEN THEY GET UP AND  READ THE FOOL THING.

 teh contents of teh  "shop"  physical size has been reduced by  50%- by just throwing out  things like  bent NAILS OR  pieces of string too short to use...--

case in point --  mondaay being trash day----  janine came home with a huge  sign holder upper-- made of 4x4's-- i used it to mark where i thought the  4 foot shop extension would go-   thus making teh  space between teh donkey cafe and  what may become  teh blacksmith shop pretty narrow...  so i made a plywood sign telling the driver i was planning to build out the shop  that would make his access to the dumpster more of a challange-- so i clipped a $10 bill to the sign-  the trash is gone. the $10 is gone  and he left a note saying he would try darn hard to  manage.

in the process i detected a need...  the plywood was too heavy for me to lift to that 4x4 sign holder upper--  the solution... 2 pieces of  hay string !  a loop in one end- and that simple quick release knot we use all over here- and i could raise teh sign alone  about 1 foot at a time  til it hung at teh height of the trash truck's door.

soooo.... i have added a chore  to the laundry folding volunteers.... of hay string preparation.  assuming the string around teh bales has been cut next to the knot ( an absolutely critical detail----)  it helps teh general farm function  to be able to grab a  KNOWN  PIECE  OF carefully twisted  stong  stuff-- to hinge a gate, hold up a fence-- or yesterday raise up a sign for my friend teh trash truck driver.--

THER SHOULD BE A  4" WAD OF BLUE HAY STRING IN EVERY VEHICLE/ TOOL BOX  -- THERE ARE SOO MANY TIMES YOU  CAN SOLVE A PROBLEM WITH A "ROPE WITH A RING" AS TEH SCOTS WOULD SAY.

6 MONTHS AGO I WAS IN THE OPERATING ROOM HAVING ONE OF MY ORGANS REMOVED. MY TEAM AND I FOUGHT AS HARD AS WE COULD, WE TRIED ALL THE MEDICATIONS BUT MY SITUATION WAS RAPIDLY DECLINING. I COULD NO LONGER EAT OR DRINK, WE COULD NOT RUN ANY TUBE FEEDS, I COULDN’T BE OUTPATIENT FOR MORE THEN A WEEK AND WHEN WE TRIED I WAS HEADED STRAIGHT BACK TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. I WAS LEFT GOING TO THE OPERATING ROOM EVERY 2 WEEKS AT LEAST, I HAD TO HAVE ALL MY NUTRITION DIRECTLY INTO MY BLOOD STREAM BECAUSE MY DIGESTIVE SYSTEM STOPPED FUNCTIONING. MY SURGEON AND MY DOCTOR MADE THE DECISION THAT WE HAD NO OPTION BUT UNDERGO A SURGERY THAT ALMOST DOUBLED IN LENGTH DUE TO THE EXTENT OF DAMAGE.

WHILE THE PAST 6 MONTHS HAVE DEFINITELY NOT BEEN WHAT WE EXPECTED INCLUDING HAVING A NUMBER OF URGENT ADMISSIONS DUE TO CRITICAL BLOOD WORK RESULTS. I HAVE BEEN RUSHED INTO THE TRAUMA ROOM. I HAVE HAD CONVERSATIONS WITH MY TEAM ABOUT WHAT WE WOULD DO IF I HAD A HEART ATTACK AND TRIED TO UNDERSTAND THE COMPLICATED THINGS MY BODY KEEPS THROWING AT US. BUT 6 MONTHS LATER I CAN SAY THAT I HAVE BEEN ALIVE FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS BECAUSE OF THOSE TWO DOCTORS WHO FOUGHT TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH FOR ME. IT’S BEEN A JOURNEY AND CONTINUES TO BE BUT I AM SO PROUD OF LIFE I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LIVE THESE PAST 6 MONTHS. THE OPPORTUNITIES I HAVE BEEN GIVEN, THE PEOPLE I HAVE MET AND THE GOALS I ACHIEVE MAKE THESE TOUGH MOMENTS WORTH IT.

TODAY I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT I HAVE BEEN AWARDED THE RALPH AND THERESA ANSELMO RESILIENCE AWARD GIVEN TO A NORTHEASTERN STUDENT WHO SHOWS RESILIENCE AND PERSEVERANCE. ❤️

SO ELVIS AND I WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE LIFE TO FULLEST AND APPRECIATE THE GOOD MOMENTS, AND WORK THROUGH THE NOT SO GOOD, WHILE WE CONTINUE ON THIS CRAZY JOURNEY! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN APART OF THE PAST 6 MONTHS!

YOU MAY NOT THINK CRISIS-- BUT THAT IS ONLY BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT SEEN " WARM,  DRY, CLEAN, AND FED" DOES NOT DEFINE ANY DEPTH OF CARE.  WE THINK TO GET THE EXPLORE CAMERAS SET UP IN THESE PLACES... WOULD BE A GREAT THING FOR THE ACTIVITIES PERSONELL.

LET ME EXPAINL HOW WELL ELIN  UNDERSTANDS TEH PROBLEM.... SHE TALKED WITH BRYAN AT THE DAY CARE CENTER.- I DID NOT UNDERSTAND A WORD (AND BLAMED IT ON BECOMING DEAF- WHICH WAS REALLY NOT THE PROBLEM)   SHE WANTED TO GET A PIECE OF "EQUIPMENT"  TO BRYAN- WHICH WAS AT MY OFFICE... SHE TOOK A PICTURE OF WHERE SHE LEFT IT IN MY OFFICE- WITH A NOTE "THIS IS FOR BRYAN"   TEHN EMAILED HIM TEH PHOTO..L. SO SUNDAY WHEN HE ARRIVED AND I HAD NEARLY FORGOTTEN THE WHOLE THING, HE HAD THE EMAIL TELLING HIM WHAT AND WHERE----  NOW THAT IS EFFICIENCY !!  AND SHOWS AN UNDEERSTANDING OF LIFE AT CRAZY ACRES.

AMID ALL THESE VERY ACCOMPLISHED, HIGHLY EDUCATED PEOPLE,  I MUST REMIND THEM THAT WE ARE HELPLESS WITHOUT MY FRIEND THE GARBAGE TRUCK DRIVER.  ( I AM THRILLED TO SAY   A CP ANGEL HAS OFFERED TO BUY HIM A DOGFEST SHIRT !!  I AM ASHAMED I DID NOT THINK OF THAT MYSELF.)

LIVELY NIGHT----I WORRY--- LAST NIGHT--- I WAS SURE KITTY HAD PRINTED UP  3000 CALENDARS USING  PICTURES OF CARTOON CHARACTERS--AND I WAS ... SHALL WE SAY ... VERY ANGRY--

TEH PLAN IS TO USE 12 OF WILLIAM HUBER'S  "FAVORITES"  FROM TEH PAST 5  YEARS- KITTY IS SUCH A PERFECTIONIST SHE CAN "DISCUSS" FOR HOURS TEH SIZE AND SHAPE OF THE PRINT THAT SAYS 19TH IS CAKE DAY.  HOWEVER THE CALENDARS SHOULD BE READY FOR DOGFEST !!!

MY OTHER  2AM PANIC WAS THAT  THERE MAY BE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW WHY WE GIVE CAKES TO LOCAL FIRE DEP[ARTMENTS ON THE 19TH... INSTEAD OF EXPLAINING--- AND TEHRE REALLY IS NO SANE REASON TO EXPLAIN.. JUST SIMPLY   WHY NOT PRESENT YOUR FIREFIGHTERS WITH A CAKE ON TEH 19TH.

THEN I WAS ANNOYED WITH THE  "WHY DO I HAVE TO EXPLAIN A SUGGESTION OF DOING SOMETHING NICE FOR SOMEONE ???" - THAT IS A SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS.

A WINDMILL WAS MY NEXT PROBLEM-- I OFTEN LEAVE TEH SCIENCE CHANNEL RUNNING-- AND THEY SAID TEHY WERE GOING TO SHOW WINDMILL MAKING-- I  KNOW HOW HUGE TEHSE THINGS ARE AND WANEED TO SEE HOW TEHY GOT THEMN TOGETHER... SO I STRUGGLED TO STAY AWAKE  WHILE THEY PUT DOWN LAYERS OF  WHATEVER THEY WERE LAYERING, DRILLED HOLES AND THINGS-- THEN THEY SHOWED THEM OPERATIONAL--- I STILL DON'T KNOW HOW THEY GOT THEM TO THE LOCATION AND THEN 200 FEET UP IN THE AIR. UNLESS MAYBE I DOSED DURING THAT PART.... SO I GOOGLED ( 2AM)  AND FOUNG THEM TURN A CORNER IN SCOTLAND WITH A 200' LONG TRUCK...   HOW COME NO  ONE HAS  FILMED THIS PROCESS HERE-- IT MUST HAPPEN ALOT-- SINCE THE MAKING OF ONE TAKES A HUGE BUILDING AT LEAST 200' 1 INCH LONG-   WHY DON'T THEY SHOW THAT INSTEAD OF ALL THE DRIVELL THAT IS  "THE NEWS" 

SO I LOOKED UP LM WINDMILL PRODUCTION- JOB OPENINGS-- I THINK A DANISH COMPANY- WITH MANUFACTURIONG  IN TEH US.... BUT IT DID NOT HAVE A JOB OPENING  WHERE I COULD APPLY FOR  A  TRANSPORTER OF WINDMILL BLADES-- SO  I DO NOT HAVE THAQT INFORMATION  TO SHARE.

I SHURE AINT NEVER SEEN ONE ON THE HIGHWAY-- AND IF I DID, GETTING ONE UP THE WINDY ROAD  TO WHERE ONE  IS IN GLOUCESTER WOULD HAVE BEEN WORTH REPLACING 6 HOURS OF  NEWS.

TORTOISE CREATING HAVOC......-- i bet in your lifetime you have never seen the words tortoise and havoc in the same sentance... FROM JUDY---- CRAZY request, Tortoise created havoc at home while I am gone and driving my husband crazy.  Don’t hesitate to say no. Any chance he could go in the little strip area til I get back. IF so I would ask Haley to pick him up. Again don’t hesitate to say no. See you soon.  Judy judy bought a little tortoise 20 years ago and took  very good care of it-- it now weighs about 40 pounds- she had it here  for a few hours because teh local art class wanted to draw it.---- i found out....   if you are not use to handling and managing a tortoise it can be a challange.  hers moves  so slowly that it causes you to become interested in anything else- and when you do  he is miles from where you thought he ought to be. and even at 40 pounds, he is not easy to find. apparently her husband had that problem. i of course offered to cope- but she did find another rescue situation... **** as for my discription of the difference between teh adding machine and the computer is an "if" statement.....a few people liked it.. but a more astute, younger person told me  the new computersLEARNED... by  assembled millions of pieces of data- tehy made a decision about the number of angels on teh head of a pin-  then  consulted those angels  for decisions-- which is why when you ask a  modern computer to play music, it will give you teh driving directions to fairbaks alaska-- with corresponding traffic reports..and toll charges. in my 80 year old world- a computer would deal with  one "if" statement at a time..  where with the improved sysem   it has  complex overlapping  "if's"  rendering a  logic problem nearly impossible for me to understand.   take this morning-- i wanted to hook up my laptop to the bedroom computer so i could watch the donkeys overnight- i am so used to having a problem that  it took me 1/2 hour to figure out i had not plugged it in.  once i corrected that .  thisi smart tv showed 1/2 the picture of donkeys- aND THE OTHER 1/2 SOMETHIGN COMPLICATED  JANINE WAS WRITING-- WITH NO LITTLE RIGHT HAND  "X" TO GET RID OF  EITHER... I JUST GAVE UP AND LEFT IT THAT WAY.  I TOO LEARN.... I WILL LOOK FOR SOME 12 YEAR OLD TO FIX IT. **  today just has to be dump day -- or rather transfer station day **  we have a guest here who looks capable of lifting and loading-- so maybe we will get those 2 huge  stainless steel cages in some convenient / usefull location-  one of them  has 36.25 as theri smallest measurement-- and the icu doors are 36"    unless we remove the door jam... see -- nothing is simple. so that might be todays camera entertainment--- over by the donkey cafe

i today-- friday.. 8:30 to 10 . cam WILL NOT BE OFF  as previoulsy announced ( to hook up the  auto generator,.)  *** plan of the day is to go round to 2 more sample adult day care centers so elin can get a more complete idea of  what is  'out there" --- yesterday we did danvers and wakefield for those who are counting,,,  - danvers is a paid nursing home- wakefield is an adult day care  drop off -- i managed to call  home while bud was puppy sitting and asked him to wave---    the crowd (of maybe 40 people) was beyond  thrilled.. the RN  who seemed to be in charge there made several astute comments-  "we would looovvvvveeee to have something to watch besides game shows"  "?no commercials?? how great is that !!"  "last time you were here with the dogs it gave us something to talk about for  a week" " this man has not smiled in years til bentley put his head in his lap" "arlene has been terrified of dogs til bentley stood quielty in front tof her."  the interactiojn with the cameras was amazing--with a white board there are all sorts of posibilities ** conflict begins --- even if we can get google etc to get this going  there is a huge difference beteween these adult day care centers and teh "homes" where someone is paying huge sums for "care"  so we have to figure that one out. we are concentrating on the  one big room with a smart tv drop off--  type...  there is the local residence where people have private rooms and if you want your relative to have tv, you have to pay for it... even if those are sometimes about as grim,  someone is making money on them--IS THIS SOME SORT OF PROGRAM FOR THE ELDERLY- PAID FOR BY TAXES??? INSURANCE???  OR A PROFIT BASD COMPMANY we/i/somebody.. has alot to learn about thei whole project. and- a huge factor--- is the staff... most often they are thrilled themselves as many are bored with the lack of activity in general. soooo many pieces to put together--- our minds are flying---and janine and elin speak the same tech language- which will be a help.... now...with luck--- i hope----  "grumpy" ( our CP retired lawyer) is up to speed on this project and can keep us legally in mind... we need legal feedback--things like ..our cameras  more than any other explore cameras- are inclined to have regular people appear. the gate does say  that  by entering this gate you will be on camera-- and all regular staff and volunteers sign a photo release,,  but-- what are the complications there..??? a good idea is never easy to implement  the technology is there. GOLDIE ( GHOST OF THE LEFTHAND DRAWER) IS ASSEMBLING A CAST OF CHARACTRS ******* good morning all -- there was one thing that I forgot to add to my recap -- the whole time I was at the farm I NEVER once took my panic/anxiety medicine.  that in itself was awesome. if I came upon a situation where there were too many people I was able to just walk around or go back to the guest house.  This was amazing how the farm takes away all the fears and replaces it with calmness. what more can I say    THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL TRIP SAM K

i must make the most of the time with elin-- this bit about gettting all the idle smart tv's working so these adult day care centeers can watch the nature camersas  commercial free is  taking priority of almost anything else. between elin and judy--- they are a quantoum leap ahead of me in working toward success... i just go along with the dogs to entertain people while we try and get these idle smart tv's operational... it is sooooo simple if you understand-- which i clearly do not.    if we/she  can just standardize teh process into a simple routine

if--- that is the word that makes an adding machine a computer- maybe i can explain that --

when you haev an adding machine and you hit 2+4 it will give you  TOTAL = 6---when you add anotehr 2 you will get TOTAL= 8 ... not a problem in the world....  however....

now with a computer  you can say 2+4 AND GET A TOTAL=6  .... THE COMPIUTER CAN "DECIDE"  IF TEH TOTAL IS =6...... NOW  WHEN YOU  GO TO ADD ANOTHER 2  IT WILL THINK "IF THE TOTAL IS ALRADY 6, THEN DO NOT ADD ANY MORE, INSTEAD  GO  DO SOMETHING- LIKE PRINT ALL THE WORDS TO THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER 14 TIMES... IN GREEK.

So today I picked up 2 dozen cupcakes to deliver to our local Butler county fire department and also two dozen that happened to be blue and gold that I decided to drive down to Corning, Arkansas. A small town of 3377 people. Only problem I discovered when I arrived was that the volunteer fire department is not staffed, but the police station was next-door and they really appreciated receiving the cupcakes and the flyer. So hopefully it counts even though I do not live in Arkansas!   Longtime cp, Marge "singsmom" ****  i got to  my designated firedepartment...  in georgetown with 24 cupcakes ( they are 3 miles away-- the ipswich dept is 8 miles  so i hope betsy did them..BETSY?????).. *** erica sent a good report-- so have at it ---- she met with riz and heidi   in washington dc ** ASHER AND I MAY HAVE LEFT NEW YORK CITY, BUT OUR TRAVELS DIDN'T END THERE LAST WEEK! THE LAST EIGHT DAYS HAVE BEEN QUITE A WHIRLWIND OF ACTIVITY, AND I'M ALWAYS SO GRATEFUL TO ASHER FOR BEING SUCH A CHAMP AND SO THANKFUL TO HAVE THE BEST ADVENTURE PARTNER OUT THERE! I THINK WE BOTH REALLY ENJOYED OUR SEVERAL HOURS AROUND THE WHITE HOUSE, MY FIRST TIME SEEING IT IN PERSON, AND A NICE OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY THE DAY AS WE SAT UNDER A TREE ON THE GRASS IN A NEARBY PARK. WE TOOK THE METRO BACK TO OUR HOTEL TO GET THINGS READY FOR FRIDAY'S EARLIER MORNING, THE DAY OF OUR MEETING. I HAD SUCH A GREAT DAY LEARNING MORE ABOUT EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS, MORE ABOUT MY ROLE AS A COMMITTEE MEMBER, AND EXCHANGING IDEAS ABOUT WHAT WE CAN DO OVER THIS NEXT YEAR TO SUPPORT OTHER LAW STUDENTS IN PURSUIT OF PUBLIC INTEREST LEGAL CAREERS. AFTER SPENDING JUST OVER 24 HOURS IN DC, WE JETTED DOWN TO FLORIDA TO SEE FAMILY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, WHICH WAS REALLY NICE - I DON'T THINK I'VE BEEN DOWN THERE SINCE CHRISTMAS. THIS WAS REALLY FINALLY A CHANCE FOR ASHER TO ENJOY A BRIEF SUMMER VACATION - HE GOT TO RELAX IN ANOTHER ONE OF HIS FAVORITE PLACES, AND RUN AROUND THE BIG BACKYARD WITH HIS COUSIN PIPER. IT WAS A SHORT TRIP DOWN THIS TIME, BUT ALWAYS GREAT TO SEE FAMILY! NOW THAT WE'RE BACK, I CAN'T DENY THE FACT THAT MY THIRD YEAR OF SCHOOL IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING - OUR FIRST CLASS IS TOMORROW NIGHT, AND WE'RE BACK FULL FORCE ON WEDNESDAY. I'M NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER YEAR IN THE LEAST, BUT IT'LL BE NICE TO SEE SOME FAMILIAR FACES AND I'M TRYING TO TAKE COMFORT IN KNOWING THAT THIS IS OUR LAST FALL SEMESTER OF LAW SCHOOL EVER! WE HAVE GRADUATION TO LOOK FORWARD TO THIS YEAR, AND IT'LL BE EXCITING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE I'LL GET TO PUT THIS HARD-EARNED DEGREE TO FIRST USE COME EARLY FALL NEXT YEAR. WE'LL BE TAKING THE NEXT 24 HOURS OR SO TO UNPACK AND UNWIND AFTER SUCH A BUSY WEEK, AND THEN IT'S BACK TO IT. HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GREAT START TO YOUR WEEK, AND AS USUAL, WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO SHARING OUR LAW SCHOOL TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS WITH YOU THIS YEAR FOR THE THIRD AND FINAL TIME!  *** i hope she plans on running for president in 2036

I HEARD THE PA SAY TO THAT PIXIE IS THE MOST SPECTACULAR SERVICE DOG SHE HAS EVER MET.  PIXIE MAKES MY HARD DAYS SO MUCH EASIER KNOWING SHE’S KEEP ME SAFE WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED AND HER LOVE AND DEVOTION TO ME IS OUT OF THIS WORLD.

 I WAS KNOWN MORE FOR MY DONKEYS THAN DANES FOIR YEARS-

I DROVE 8 LIKE A MINI  BUDWEISERS HITCH- EVERY WEEKEND All summer

i paid my  kids tuition with teh $1000 per parade. 

the list of what went into these parades  ---

harness--- made tby sam freedman of toronto of leather superior to any coach leather bag.

wagon---- bennington vehicle from england-- in red-- prince phippip drove the same kind... in blue..

huge trailer-- size of a moving van -pulled by  ford 350 

8 donkeys-- DONQUI, SEVEN WERE LEAD TEAM -- THEN OMAR, TIMMY, PARROTT, SQUIRREL, LEROY AND WEEKIE.

8 rubbermade tubs  for the harness LABELED WITH THIER NAMES

 4 one hundred dollar bills to pay for my kids college friends  as sidewalkers.. etc (spending money for them and $600 for me) 

to this was added 8 antlers- which extencded us  into the santa season.WITH ANTLERS  AND SANTA WE DROVE THE 8 INTO THE BALL ROOM OF THE WESTON HOTEL - UP ON THE 4TH  FLOOR.

during teh ?8 years i did this we made absolute every combination of errors one could make with those 7  "items" 

including---

 7 trained donkeys and one very young one never driven before-- (put him in the middle and push)

7 tubs of harness for 8 donkeys ( take a piece of  the 7 and make it look good.) 

leaving all teh reins behind ( put a stuffed bear in teh drivers seat and chase the donks up the middle of the road) 

a huge problem with  parades is teh truck was usually  - rushed to teh finish while THE  DRIVER (ME)  RAN BACK TO THE START  TRY PARALELL PARKING A TRACTOR TRAILER IN A HURRY..LEADING TO SEVERA L $90 PARKING TICKETS FOR TAKING UP 3 SPACES...

LAST NIGHT'S NIGHTMARE WAS A COMBINATION OF ALL THOSE ERRORS --  STARTING WITH  THE  ANIMALS WERE 6  HIGH STRUNG SADDLEBREDS,  TEH HARNESS HAD NOT BEE4N PACKED IN TEH TUBS CORRECTLY- TEH COLLEGE KIDS HELPING THAT DAY HAD NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE ( HORSES ARE DANGEROUS-- DONKEYS FAR MORE FORGIVING---) WE HAD ONLY ONE REIN TO STEER THE 2 LEADERS- AND NO BRITCHING..

SO TODAYS LESSON IN USELESS INFORMATION....  TEH 2 REINS NEEDED FOR THE LEAD TEAM ARE SPLIT --- TEH REIN FOR THE RIGHT HAND HORSE  IS SPLIT  AND TEH CROSS REIN GOES TOTHE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE LEFT HORSE-- SO WHEN YOU TURN THE 2, THEY TURN TOGETHER....  THE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR  NOT HAVING TEH CROSS REIN...

AND TEH BRITCHING-- THAT IS TEH STRAP THAT GOES BEHIND TEH 2 HORSES NEXT TOTHE WAGON  WHICH BASICALLY  KEEPS THE WAGON FROM HITTING THEM IN THE REAR END.    THERE IS NO  GOOD  SUBSTITUTE FOR THAT EITHER---

Seagram & I had the pleasure of seeing Erica & Asher again last week.  I am so grateful that Seagram has made me more independent (so that we feel confident to go to NYC together on a last-minute trip and to explore the city together), plus that I have made new friends because of her. Seagram’s Story: Catching Up

I have so much to tell you about what we have been doing together lately, but I first want to share the BEST part - we went to see my favorite brother, Asher, and his Mom last week before they left NYC. 

This was an impromptu trip. A few days before we left, I had implored Mom to take me to see him because I ADORE him. Plus, he needed our help. His Mom had planned a new adventure for them - going to a concert - so he needed Muttmuffs, and I really wanted to share mine...so it all worked out, and we went to the city. 

We met up outside the Met, where Mom had been enjoying the art and I was just trying to do my job, despite the crowds (more on the Met later). Anyway, Asher & I were SO EXCITED to see each other! I gave him kisses as soon as I saw him. Actually, our Moms were a little worried about our enthusiastic greeting & sniffing, and didn’t want to get knocked over, so they asked us to wait until we rounded the corner to Central Park. 

While in the Park, I ran zoomies with my brother, and danced with him, too. It was a warm day, so we didn’t run as much as on previous occasions, but we were still SO HAPPY to be together. 

As we had fun in our own way, I heard our Moms catching up, as well. There was lots of talk about human stuff, including law school, and the upcoming concert, and things that didn’t really interest me...however, there was a hole that REALLY interested both of us, kinda like the holes we would dig on Puppy Hill. Each of us took a turn at digging, much to our Moms’ consternation. To distract us, and because there was increasing shade as the sun dropped in the sky, we walked over to Cedar Hill. Mom took some pictures of Asher & Erica. Then my brother started rolling around in the grass, sharing all of himself for the world to see - even though we are all grown up & almost 4 years old, he is as silly as ever! This reminded me of a fig leaf that we saw at the Met (check out the pictures, since this is pretty funny). 

All in all, it was a great reunion for pups & people, and I am SO PROUD of my brother helping his person get to her first rock concert like this!

THAT SCIENCE CHANNEL IS TROUBLE...--SO OFTEN TEHY DELVE INTO THE BOWELS OF TEH PYRAMIDS WHILE EXTOLLING HOW EXACTLY THE PHARAOH  DEVISED A WAY TO KEEP THE PUBLIC AWAY FROM HIS FINAL RESTING PLACE BY PILING ALL THOSE BLOCKS ON TOP OF ONE ANOTHER.   THEN THEY ADD THINGS LIKE  " IT TOOK 35 YEARS" TO FLOAT BLOCKS DOWN THE NILE AND RUN THEM UP A RAMP.... MADE ME THINK OF BOSTONS  MONUMENTS TO  INSANE ROCK PILING  -- THE 2 BUILDINGS-- HANCOCK AND PRUDENTIAL- BOTH INSURANCE COMPANIES--    THEY HIDE THE BLUE CROSS offices  IN THE PRUDENTIAL TOWER  SO YOU DON'T STAND  ACROSS TEH RIVER AND POINT TO  WHAT YOUR MEDICAL MONEY IS PAYING FOR BESIDES BANDAIDS AND ASPRIN. INSURANCE COMAPANIES- ARE SECOND MAYBE TO BANKS AS MY LEAST FAVORITE- THEY ARE SOOOO WELCOMING TO YOUR MONEY WHICH TEHY THEN PUT TO GOOD USE DEVISING WAYS  TO HAVE YOU FALL IN THE   CATAGORIE OF... "NOT COVERED" REMEMBER ---I HAVE BEEN THRU A HOUSE BURNED PRETTY MUCH TO THE GROUND... TOTALLED--  I WAS FLABBERGASETED AT THE CREATIVITY USED TO EXCLUDE ITEMS -- LIKE I was insured for  some kind of living expenses --- but they did hot pay any of that because i did not leave teh property- and just quickly moved in a house trailer so i coudl take care of the barn and all teh animals...  they didn't  cover  that kind of living expense...  it went on and on...  actually i have 2 pieces of that house left.....  one is the 6 foot  hardwood counter in the kitchen on which sits the coffee maker...-- teh other i just  re-discovered- it is the  hardwood workbench in the shop... if you get down on your hands and knees, you will see both are charred on the other side... not that you would want to. what confuses me is that i had a house between the fire and ipswich-- and i can not remember how i managed to deal with those 2 huge  chunks of wood for the ? 10 years  between the fire and ipswich-- they must not have been nailed to the "new house"  because i don't remember  prying them loose.... i did sell that house and 11 acres --- without a realator --- AS IS WHERE IS.    ---that was th  house where i had drillrd  a hole in the floor for  a funnel to direct the leak in the roof  into the cellar,. where there was a race horse recooperating from his last race.  i left  there--- literally  in a rocking chari  on top of a pile of "stuff" in the back of a pick up..   i just could not resist ! those were the days..

HAD TO SEND THIS EMAIL  AND MY RESPONSE-- IN A EFFORT TO GET MORE DANE SERVICE TRAINING FACILITIES  STARTED.. -   **  FOR FEAR SHE WOULD THINK I WAS JUST THE USUAL NUT.....  I DID NOT DARE TO EXPLAIN HOW GOLDIE MIGHT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR  CONTACTING US ABOUT THOSE PUPS...  BUT THAT WAS NOT FAR FROM MY MIND.... ***** HERE IS HER EMAIL-- WITH NAME WITHHELD TO PROTECT TEH OUTFIT.  I have watched your live cam for many years and I know that you breed Great Danes for training as most service projects do but I have a question related to Great Dane puppies? I am the CEO of the board of a no kill animal control. In an unfortunate incident we seized a number of Great Danes and litters of great Danes as well as multiple other breeds that were being bred without a license. We have a number of great Dane puppies that are six weeks old and I was not sure if you or your organization ever used puppies that were not bred at your facility.   I am the former owner of a great Dane who was the love of my life and I raised him from a three day old pup because of some complications with his mother. He was just like a child to us. I know how special they are and we are working extremely hard to make sure that these great Danes end up in the right place and of course not in the wrong hands. They are just at the point of weaning and the court required that she surrender the puppies in the past few days. The adults are not yet surrendered but they are in our custody. These puppies (and parents) have been in our custody since they were days old.  I am also emailing a number of great Dane rescues but I would love to see the Danes utilized in a project that gives back. ( EXCEPT FOR THE   IRS and their 501 c 3 bit  but that is a different story.)  to finally answer your question...  i have tried rescues,  with  one out of 7 successful-- and i thnk that was because they were not started OUR  way...  with teh spoon bit... - made true furthere by teh fact that we are having our hands full with penny-- born in germany and imported with her sister paula- both of which lack that  concentration we have in our spoon fed bunch./ to succeed also  you must be able to withstand aLOT OF COMMENTS.....
