dec 31 2020 cov & gas

 2020 12 31

I am willing to bet good money that not one of you would expect this daily doggie to have the main topic of coughing and passing gas .. however as the last day of 2020 I think it's quite appropriate .

my observation yesterday about how doctor Pol swings baby cows around by the hind legs to empty any fluid from the lungs at birth .....Was the only reference I used from anyone with any kind of advanced degree in medicine ==== it was veterinary medicine .. after that,    it's pure Isaac Newton .. I think it was Isaac...  Studying gravity watching apples fall out of trees .. There is a purity about science that is sorely lacking in the printed or Internet words .. apples never fall up .. so sticking with pure science ....Whether you are moving  a heavy object or trying to cough up phlegm , Gravity is a major issue .

I certainly Would never assume anyone should take my word for any of this .. except I told Janine if I get in a bad shape coughing to put me on my stomach with my head over the side of the bed the scrap basket underneath .. So what you all choose to do is your own business ..but I certainly had a lot of comments about this .

so I will let some of these people write today's daily doggy with minimal editing....

Your DD triggered an old memory for me!!
I remember having pneumonia and being in the hospital 65 years ago. After I went home, I had to hang my upper torso off the side of the bed for 5 minutes every hour.  My mother was a nurse and she put a pillow on the floor because I was a short 5 year old and would slide off the bed and end up doing a headstand.  It definitely helped me cough the phlegm up. I’ve never had any problems since.

GOOD MORNING CARLENE,

REGARDING THE DD AND GRAVITY,
I HAVE READ THAT THEY HAVE BEEN TREATING COVID BY LYING PATIENTS ON THEIR STOMACHS  W/ HEADS AND BEDS  POINTED DOWNWARDS W/ EXCELLENT RESULTS!

ALSO PENS..EVERY NURSE CHERISHES HERS AND I USUALLY CARRIED EXTRA IN MY WORK TOTE FOR THOSE WHO DIDN'T, SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO LOSE MINE..

MAY THE NEW YEAR BE HAPPY ,HEALTHY AND FRUITFUL FOR YOU AND YOURSAND SDP

TAKE CARE,
KIM

Hi Carlene!

I agree with your theory about draining lungs
Upside down...

I am 60, but I had very aggressive asthma
for my 1st 25 years of life.
My body instinctively "told" me to put my head down, to help my lungs breathe. I was too young
to actually know, that what I was doing was correct. I just knew I felt better.
Recently, it was proven that many children with asthma store a bit of water deep down in their lungs. Who knew. Of course asthma is real and involves other factors, from allergies to physically restricting bronchial tubes literally. I had it all.

I would be the kid who could be found outside, standing on my head all the time. Or walking on my hands, or doing hand stands up against
our farm brick house. (Even leaning over a foot stool in the winter or sleeping like the Danes do, with my head hanging off the bed.)
Most of my family thought I had a few screws loose anyway, but I only knew what felt better to me.

Furthermore, I have assisted in whelping pups myself. It is absolutely life saving to carefully
"Swing" a few pups upside down, to clear nose and bronchial area. As you said, holding the head and neck carefully. I was trained how to do it and it works. I would never have done it, without seeing it done right though.

Lastly, look at giraffes! Dear me,
They weigh 150 lbs at birth and are dropped 6 feet in a thud. Vets claim that is nature's way of breaking up the crud in baby giraffes lungs,
So they can start breathing :))
THANKS, Barbara

Face down, inverted increases the chance stomach aspiration into lungs in sick patients and there is no easy way to safely do that at this point. Hope this helps!

MANY OF THE MDS CARRING FOR COVID PATIENTS ARE HAVING THEM LIE ON THEIR ABDOMENS AS IT EXPANDS THEIR LUNGS AND LETS GRAVITY DO ITS JOB! WHEN ADVISING PATIENTS THAT ARE AT HOME WITH THE VIRUS, LYING ON THEIR ABDOMENS IS A LOT EASIER WITHOUT ALL THE TUBES

MARTHA .  ga..
======
I just read the DD as I do every day.
While it's true the lungs drain better with head down, expanding the lungs to take a breath is more difficult.  In order to fully expand the lungs to take in air/oxygen, the lungs would have to push the stomach, small bowel and large bowel with all it's contents upward.
When you raise the head of the bed to help a patient breathe you are actually lowering the  contents of the abdomen giving the lungs more room to expand.
Thanks for all you do

I received this from a friend yesterday. After seeing today’s Daily Doggie, I thought you might find it interesting. Both she and her husband (late 70’s, early 80’s) had Covid early in the pandemic. Her sister, who is a nurse, mentioned some of these tips but she said wished she had, had all of the information. She also said she wondered why the media didn’t get this info out. Both of my friends recovered but it was a long haul. Stay healthy!
------
This was shared on a Covid survivor group...have heard many of these before but it seems helpful:
HOW TO FIGHT COVID AT HOME
No one ever talks about how to fight Covid at home. I came down with Covid in November. I went to the hospital, running a fever of 103, a rapid heart beat, and other common symptoms that come with Covid. While I was there they treated me for the high fever, dehydration and pneumonia.
The doctor sent me home to fight Covid with two prescriptions -  Azithromycin 250mg & Dexamethason 6mg. When the nurse came in to discharge me, I asked her, "What can I do to help fight this at home?" She said, “Sleep on your stomach at all times with Covid. If you can’t sleep on your stomach because of heath issues sleep on your side. Do not lay on your back no matter what because it smashes your lungs and that will allow fluid to set in.
Set your clock every two hours while sleeping on your stomach, then get out of bed and walk for 15-30 min, no matter how tired or weak that you are. Also move your arms around frequently, it helps to open your lungs. Breathe in thru your nose, and out thru your mouth. This will help build up your lungs, plus help get rid of the Pneumonia or other fluid you may have.
When sitting in a recliner, sit up straight - do not lay back in the recliner, again this will smash your lungs. While watching TV - get up and walk during every commercial.
Eat at least 1 - 2 eggs a day, plus bananas, avocado and asparagus. These are good for Potassium. Drink Pedialyte, Gatorade Zero, Powerade Zero & Water with Electrolytes to prevent you from becoming dehydrated. Do not drink anything cold -  have it at room temperature or  warm it up. Water with lemon, and little honey, peppermint tea, apple cider are good suggestions for getting in fluids. No milk products, or pork. Vitamin’s D3, C, B, Zinc, Probiotic One-Day are good ideas. Tylenol for fever. Mucinex, or Mucinex DM for drainage, plus helps the cough. Pepcid helps for cramps in your legs. One baby aspirin everyday can help prevent getting a blood clot, which can occur from low activity. "
Drink a smoothie of blueberries, strawberries, bananas, honey, tea and a spoon or two of peanut butter.
We always hear of how Covid takes lives, but there isn't a lot of information out there regarding how to fight Covid. I hope this helps you or someone you know, just as it has helped me.
Copy and paste please.

?ivermectin? (     ED: IS WHAT WE USE TO WORM THE DOGS FOR HEARTWORM.)
------------
Ivermectin acts by inhibiting the host importin alpha/beta-1 nuclear transport proteins, which are part of a key intracellular transport process that viruses hijack to enhance infection by suppressing the host antiviral response.3 Ivermectin is therefore a host-directed agent, which is likely the basis for its broad-spectrum activity in vitro against the viruses that cause dengue, Zika, HIV, and yellow fever.3-6

THANKS FOR STARTING ME DOWN THAT RABBIT HOLE  J

  • iVERMECTIN FOR HUMANS AS AN ANTI-VIRAL….APPARENTLY IT INHIBITS SOME PROTEIN PRODUCTION THAT CERTAIN TYPES OF VIRUSES USE TO MULTIPLY AND INFECT MORE CELLS. IT HAS BEEN USED FOR ZIKA, HIV AND YELLOW FEVER. HERE IS A SMALL BLURB FROM ONE OF THE REFERENCES THAT CAME UP WHEN I GOOGLED ITby Drugs.com

    • Ivermectin has been trialled in treating the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which is the virus that causes COVID-19.
    • The trials so far have shown ivermectin reduces the number of cell-associated viral RNA by 99.8 % in 24 hours. This was an in vitro study which means they were testing cells in a laboratory and not in a living organism.
    • Studies are now needed to be done on ivermectin on people or animals to see how well ivermectin works against COVID-19. This is in vivo testing.
    • Ivermectin is currently a FDA approved medicine for treatment of intestinal worms, Strongyloides stercoralis and Onchocerca volvulus. It has been established as safe for human use.

and on  a slightly different tact
Carlene,
I laughed my head off at your email and still laughing. All you said is so logical and brilliant.
Back a few years when I could do this:
I had severe gas in my guts and could not get rid of it... I could not burp or throw up.
So:  I said to myself.... " what does gas do?"    Well, myself said:   it rises to the top!

I went to a wall in my house; did a handstand with my back against the wall and stayed there
for a few minutes!!    Dr. Pol and you would be laughing your heads off!!!
It worked!!   Gas:    gone!!

I love your ideas and especially hospital patients that need a different solution..
Best ever,
Nancy

AND  finally

to relieve gas, get down on hands and knees and put your ear on the floor....

dec 30 2020 gravity

gravity... as in  the relationship with me,  mr newton ,and  an apple.

forget the  bit about  inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers.
lets go with   ----stuff falls down.
now when puppies are born here, we often hold them head down.. and while supportng their body neck, and head, slightly swing them
to let grsvity  remove any muscus  or whatever all thagt is that may have got into thier breaqthing mechanizm

Stuff  Drains out---- the puppy squeals ---  and life goes on ..   then as I watched doctor Pol  constantly pulling calves out of cows .. he very often ---with help --will pick up the calf  by the back legs and swing it so that the collection of fluid stuff draines out--- they flop it down and the calf can breathe ..  now .....  on television I saw a  people doctor hold up A 60CC syringe-- which is big---   half full of pink fluid that they had just gotten out of the patient lying on the bed ..  now the patient is  on his  back and the top of the bed is raised ..  so correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that put fluid gravitated to the bottom of his lungs which means that he would have to cough that up 14 inches uphill to get rid of it out his mouth ...  and all these patients are lying on their backs .. I'm no doctor obviously ... well I don't understand why these people aren't on their stomachs with the bottom of the bed raised and head down overall bucket of some kind and wouldn't that make gravity be working for you instead of against you ..

all these patients lying on their backs certainly looks very neat and tidy but I don't understand why it wouldn't be better to have them on their stomachs head down .. I don't know as I go so far as to swing them by their feet like doctor Paul but the concept I think is an interesting one

I know there are several doctors who read this but they're probably too busy now with COV to give it a thought .. with the possible exception of doctor  tom Nugent ..  who does like to entertain the unusual so maybe I can get a reaction from him explaining why put all those people on their backs ----  it's against Newton
I can remember when  my kids we're very young ---  and I had to go to the pediatrician's office ..  which was usually crowded ...
if I had Janine  carry a coffee can .. and tip over at the waist like she was going to throw up ..  the nurse usually would let us in before everybody else ..
My point being .. I never saw anybody try and eliminate anything from the top part of their body without bending  over at the waist to give gravity a chance to help ..

now you all may make fun of that ... I can  hardly wait
My other way of jumping a queue in an office .. is to be friendly   to the receptionist by giving her a present ..  I don't know of any office where everyone had a pen immediately available ..  the  highest paid person in the office -- Was often seen wandering around looking for a pen ... so I got out on eBay and found that you could buy 1000 pens for $40 ... good pens nice pens always something wrong printed on them ... like Harry's Funeral Home or something .. but if I gave a shoebox full of pens to the receptionist , that put me in good graces and very often I be invited in “ out of order “  --- An my $40 worth of pens was ezeli 8 shoeboxes full .. I probably still have some

Now about our two new puppies --- many of the camera people are asking why we don't do this that or the other thing .. but these two pumps need to be educated a great deal before we even dare turn him loose . if we turn them loose now they would run and hide someplace and freeze to death .. they have not been in the world as we see it .   to simply have chaos bark at Bentley for lying in her place on the sofa sends them running into a corner .. we have a long way to go with these two
--
along those lines someone asked me why we feed one puppy at a time of those 15 of  our puppies .-

there again the camera people are expecting the perfect behavior of four or six puppies all eating at the same time at the same table and we'll get there ... but we're not there yet and they have to be educated // and have some notion of proper behavior before they all jump on the table and knock everybody over .. so be patient we're working on it .
I must admit seeing them out in the yard when they practice loading into cars and then walking around up to the house and back on leash that they are looking amazingly well .. so if everybody would please cool it .. and not try and rush us  we will probably get there ---  but you can't assume  that any small problem we have means the end of the world .
every training program needs  fiddling  2 fit the exact situation .

chicken shatting sunday is next sunday.... if you can ,  buy a number for  $10, please do that.... the hens will be choosing the e shatting  winner at 3:01 sunday afternoon... probably in the arena...

dec 29 2020 food

these  pups and  their ears.....apparently it is a variation of normal dane... because one of our pups  amethest has ears just like that

AMETHYST BUCKEYE'S NATURAL EARS, they seem quite similar to the two girls.
Amethyst is a Perfect Pet with Jeri and Steve and Amethyst's mom, Audrey Starlet, an SDP Dane.
amethest is wilbur x audry... wilbur is jasper  x mischa and audry is bentley x  scarlott  sp that is the 100% from our breedings...of course 11 generatiosn back you could have something show up.

here's one for you  re breeding true.....
my sister and i have a birthmark behind one knee  pretty much the same.... and my daughter janine has one-- same place very like mine...
---
moving.  on..
yesterday in a effort to drive my car somewhere... anywhere.. i ended up at the local small plane airport, wandering further i had seen a large collection of grey something off the highway.and decided to see what it was... turning ina driveway that clearly said a bunch of things i did not understand.. i waved at the guard in the little box at the open gate and drove on...finally being stoppend by another gate andf a usps truck .  she explained to me that the first guard was actually a  manequin....
2020 12 29

The driver of the post office truck stopped at ask if she could help and I explained I was just wandering around and wondered what that Gray mass was off in the Woods .. she said that's FEMA project  and she noticed I had Bentley and sizzle in the back and said oh I know somebody in Ipswich that raises those --- I said    do you really ???  and Turns out she has worked for 30 years for the post office and she's a friend of tracy's who works here ..  and this woman ---I forgot her name ---said that she was retiring next year and our ultimate goal in her life is the come volunteer at the Great Dane place in Ipswich so we talked for a long time .. she then told me there was a dog park kind of across the driveway which I didn't know so after I talked to her I went there just as a man with a Great Dane was coming out of the dog park so I had to give him a calendar or two it ended up talking to him for a long time his Dane was bought in New Hampshire and it was of a grand championship line or something like that it definitely was a black it could have been black out of blue because it had no white it's hard to find a harlekin bred Dane with no white it does happen but .. at any rate I realized if you want to sit around and talk to people your local dog park is an perfect place to go ,... generally the people are very friendly ---well they certainly seem to be ..it was a very interesting thing to do

on the rest of that trip up and down this driveway I went through a quarter of a mile of shipping containers some labels things I didn't understand and some not labeled ..  the Postal employee told me that's where emergency equipment was stored ,I always wondered how every town in the United States seems to be able to come up with emergency equipment pretty quick .. and certainly in this Beverly area there's a lot of it stored in shipping containers ..
  ------
I don't know how the town of Ipswich feels about shipping containers I probably shouldn't ask seeing as we have one already without asking .. in which we store our dog food which we get from purina thank you---- in the amount of 8 pallets of dry food every two months for three or four years and counting ... it's a wonderful food of course .. it's the food I was feeding when I had to buy it so now that it's donated it's an even better food ..

with very little exception the 450 dogs in my master list of dogs I've bred have been raised and maintained on pure rena pro plan I can remember going up to Sam's with Megan and loading up the  Cart with as much dog food as would fit in my car .. almost on a weekly basis ..  Even before that ... when I lived in Lynnfield .. I bought purita ,--   and at that time I was in some kind of program where if I collected the  weight circles I would get a Bose radio .. I had so damn many Bose radios that all my relatives and friends had one and I still had a couple in the closet .. so when I talked to the officers of furina to try and get donated food ..they could tell I was a bona fide pure rena user by the number of Bose radios I had ordered //.

there's only two places where I don't use that pro plan ---  one is chaos and Bentley are inclined to gain too much weight  on the regular so I get 2 bags of purina weight management through the pure rena store online ..
the other place I can't use pierina is in my yuppy puppy ..  because the normal pro plan that I feed the pellets are just too big but probably 1/2 inch maybe .. and the small dog purina is too small probably 1/4 of an inch diameter .. so I will use anything else that has the right size to fit through the yuppy puppy .. which at the moment I find chicken soup for the dog lovers soul .. has the correct size pellet ..  seeing as that's hardly what are dogs get for nourishment I really don't know what the nutritional contents of it is .

100 years ago ,  one of the volunteers took 20 different bags of dog food and made a spreadsheet of the top or the 1st ten ingredients of each one ..  I do have that on my computer .. and I get a kick out of a dog being taken off period of pro plan because they're allergic to something or other and they must now eat some kind of dog food that the person sells who was offering the opinion that they are allergic ...
dog food can be a religion to some .. it is not to me---   it's dog food .. and purine is a big company I know damn well that if there was a better dog food to be made they would make it --  and charge more for it or whatever -- they have the ability and the staff to know all sorts of nutritional things ----well I am far more inclined to listen to them than  the person who tells me I shouldn't feed anything besides raw chicken necks ..  Or that granulated seaweed  which is pushed by the company out of Poughkeepsie NY .
I don't think our dogs  could look any better than they now do.

I will be the first to admit the great Danes have a very fuzzy gut .. but I  heare about a dog being allergic to pro plan , I think whoever---   usually a vet ---is saying that as a diagnosis of last resort because they haven't figured out what is the problem ...
which I think is usually a combination of some bug or worm ..   And if you try enough of the cures for diarrhea you will eventually find 1 that so far has fixed  every dog I've ever owned .. it can be pretty exciting in the meantime .

p.s.  FYI   our shipping container cost $2500 delivered.

dec 28 2020 training 201

 2020 12 28

Two big topics puppies and training

the two new puppies are cute as can be and certainly 99% Dane it may not be 100% ---- I've never seen ears like that on a regular Dane .  at first I thought the ears were cropped and they just hadn't put on the brace to make them stand but on closer examination I don't think they were cropped for a couple of reasons--- number one==== the funny little flap at the bottom of the ear is still there which is often removed when they crop 'em and the other reason is they don't go to a point as they would if they were cropped .. there are a lot of other things about the puppies that are different than ours .. our usual Danes are exceedingly large heavy boned and things like that and even though these are babies and will grow tremendously I don't think they are the bulk the dogs are but that could be just typical American Dane--- at any rate ..Our ghost of the left hand drawer has seen it proper to give us these dogs so we will work on them and work them into the service dog training program in one way or another .

Until we get them to the point where we can turn them loose on puppy Hill because of this COV , I don’t  really want any visitors to them .. you can also see them on camera right now in the kitchen which is working well ...  and I will graduate them to the condo in a few days ..

it was a shock for them to see a bunch of big dogs ..   I have only put gymini in with them so far I can't see I ever will put chaos in with them at least for six months ,

--

now As for training ... All training is a learning experience for both the trainers and the dogs because every situation is slightly different and might require a different set of eyes to look at it ..   those  Extra set of eyes should be mine but I can't be everywhere ..  although I did see the feeding fiasco and already discussed it with the trainers by the time 642 camera people send me emails about it ..

I love comments from camera people because I can't be everywhere --  and I do like to have them be constructive .. don't tell me the Sky is falling when it actual facts there's just one small adjustment that needs to be made .. there was one camera person who picked it  up------- the basic problem was .. and it is one of my original mandates ..  don't use traeits to try and train a dog ..    because then their mind is on the treat and not what you're trying to teach them ...

unfortunately in this situation of trying to feed them breakfast you had the ultimate treat which was their basic nourishment which they'd already been trained to approach by jumping up on the table and waiting ... and the trainers were saying no you can't do that /. The dogs were not wrong.... they were doing exactly what they were trained to do

taking it from the top.....

it was a great hullabaloo when someone said to the traiinrs “you need to get the dogs to stop and wait at their feeding tables before you put the food down “  and that certainly would be very true ... except we have the A- B problem .. the trainers and other handlers figured they walk out with a dish of food  in  their hand tell the dog to stop and they dog should    and everything would be fine because eventually that's what's possible....   however ...

It was a perfect example of why I say you cannot train a dog to do a thing if there  is food or treats  involved... .. because the dogs were being driven nuts by someone telling them to stand still well they know darn well that they were supposed to run out to the arena get their front feet on those tables and they would get food that's what they were trained to do and that's what they did .....to have a person to be standing there with their food say you can't have it yet ..  with the poor dog saying but I'm supposed to get up there and---- I'm supposed to get up there and =====I'm supposed to get up there ...demonstrated their mind was on the food and you can't blame him ----they're hungry ..what needs to happen is .... feed   their breakfast normally---- run out get up there and feed 'em don't withhold their food .. then after they've eaten and had a nap and maybe a run around invite them back into the arena to go up and down the stairs and get up on the bench  and do all sorts of things -----and one of the things would be to stop-- whoa --and then tell them to --wait --and not move...... it should be very easily trained if they're paying attention to you which they seem to be you want to a good wait  in their head ..  Before you get anywheres near that food table ..

once they have a good wait in their vocabulary then go over in front of the tables and have them wait ..

next step would be to wait in front of the tables and stand there while you walk around behind .. and ask them to jump up and give them a great big Pat for thank you and hopefully ..they've got the directions in their head . with no treats involved...

at that point maybe----- just maybe after they've had their dinner or breakfast and aren't starving you can do your part of the feeding exercise which is to have a small snack in a dish and then go out and have the m wait  in front of the table---- you walk around while you're saying stay stay stay or whatever else you're going to say wait whatever ------get the get the dish into the table and say OK get up there or whatever you say at that point .and they will get a little snack in a dish . After you've done that a couple times with the food dish .. then maybe you can get away with doing it with their breakfast when they're hungry .

let me also remindy ou all ---When I say “   do it a couple times “I do not mean just standing there and repeating their performance .. I don't find immediate repetition effective at training ....do it once then go play on the stairs ...or the ramp and then come back and do it again ... and then the third time you do it make that  the next day ..  So this whole performance of rushing out to dinner may take 10 days ... but those same 10 days you're either going to be teaching or reinforcing a lot of other training things like can I get  in a car ..   so that can be a goal 10 days from now let's reassess how all the pups are doing with this

tiny adjustments in training can make for huge  end results,,,

My dogs carefully taught me this procedure becausw I started with just  sizzle and Bentley and going through the front door 2 ----150 pound dogs  And me just don't fit through one door i.. add Gemini -- and it could be downright dangerous . so before I put my hand on that doorknob I tell them to wait .. in no uncertain terms .. you may see it on camera but Luckily you can't hear it because they are not going to nknock m e over  .  They will stand motionless until I say their name at which point they will dart out the door .

I am sure that these three dogs would stand motionless in front of a table till I put the food down because they know darn well what wait  means     We have 15 puppies who have yet to learn that .

dec 27 heat

pups are doing fine... (aka eating peeing pooping)   two different personalities  .. settled very nicely overnight with heather... wild color  a great relief from all the blacks....  a little wild yet...  not to turn out on puppy hill yet...  we would have trouble getting them in again.... so we will start with the condo/back deck...

2020 12 27
COV is educational----- "To heat or not to heat-- that is the question"
Instead of just having builders build houses that they think will sell well ... we really should back off  and calculate what we really use and need .. it breaks into three groups ...  heated (and I do love my heat )   ,,,   a room that could possibly be heated ,,,,,  and  an area that will never be heated ... The next town boxford is full of huge houses where you could run a full sized orphanage .. and right now there's two people living in them .. I know people who own these things .. They maintain   the five bedrooms three bathrooms just in case the kids come home for a visit ...  or nowadays more probably they can't find a job anywhere else ..  but mostly cov has certainly taught me  To live in one room and a bathroom... as long as I have enough storage room to put all the things that don't need heating ..

all of these big houses have at least A2 car garage into which you could no longer fit a car ... or if you did you could not open the doors ... because of things like bicycles ladders and stuff .

I have several friends with huge houses ... who's every waking moment is spent in one room ..that room involves some sort of food preparation ----a table,  spread with papers.... A TV .... a couch or 2 ... plus a fireplace .--- And they have to heat the whole place because all those bathrooms have pipes that would freeze otherwise .
next time  i build a house, it would be in 3 sections.... heated,... not heated, but could be,....does not need heat......
, the houses would be diminutive , and attached to the equivalent  of our 30 x 40  “G”tent as a “  project room.” , unheated, . ... the house  would have a main room, plus   what is called the “other” room in Scotland....- and a utility room... (with water and  pipes)
Where the sides  of the project room were lined with stuff never needing heat... like file cabinets. Of  IRS records ( one of my favorites)

I am fascinated  with the tiny house concept..... but I would need “significant storage”  as my instinct to collect is historic... I conceivably Could live in a shipping container but there are words I would have to eliminate from my vocabulary ... “I might need that”  and  “I could  use that”  and  “ later”-would have to be forbidden.......plus... -I would have to realize there is no difference in    not owning something , and not being able to  find it.

My  car has become my ----”other, sometimes heated”--    reading room..- of my  redesigned living accomodations... I spend maybe 2 hours a day in my car.. with 3 danes  well heated,, stereo equipt   comfortable seating.... minimal internet connection, but telephone..
Sometime people bring me one of the chef meals --    plus this car has  a 911 button.  Which wouold tell the operator where I was...... what more do I need ??

The builders who build these huge houses for two people give the same argument as the guy who took a passenger seat out of the back of my car so the aging dogs could get in easier...    .. “you're going to ruin the resale value .”    ..  yeah?   At my age   I ain’t gonna deal with that.... I'm going to enjoy it  better in the meantime .

RE:---PPP-- PAYROLL PROTECTION PLAN
MY BOOKEEPING SYSTEM   IS BASED ON  ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING IS RUN THRU OUR CHECKING ACCOUNT   THIS GIVES ME A real total to work with... WHICH IS BACKED UP BY A HAND WRITTEN "BOOK"-- YOU KNOW--- THE PAPER AND INK KIND OF BOOK...LINDA KEEPS THAT
RUMOR HAS IT THAT  A NEW PPP WILL BE based on a quarterly report  where 2020 is 25% less than the corresponding quarter on 2019 .

.. we do have  2 quarters like that---  greatly influenced by the "charlie's challange"  where he generously offered to match  a 24 hour period  of donations....and you all swung into action and he offered to extend it another 24 hours--  that got into really big money.... which was a huge help in 2019   which made that quartter in 2020  40% less !!!  ===  WHICH IF THE PRESIDENT SIGNS WHATEVER, MEANS WE MIGHT GET ANOTHER $87,000. THAI HAS BEEN SUCH A HUGE HELP...
AND WE MUST PROVE THE $87 WENT TO PAYROLL AND UTILITIES... WHICH WITH MONTHLY PAYROLL $33,000 AND THE ELECTRIC AND WATER BILLS INFLATED BY THE LAUNDRY THAT WE DO,  MEETING THAT PERCENTAGE   IS NO PROBLEM.
? GOLDIE WINS AGAIN???

IF ANYONE OFFERS YOU BRAINS OR LUCK... TAKE LUCK !
----
WE HOPE TO GET THE DONATION OF  2 NEW PUPS TODAY... PLAN HAS IT FOR ME TO TAKE MY ( BATTERED UP PUPPY PROOFED  ) CAR  TP BE FOLLOWED BY EITHER LYNN  OR HALEY  TO DO THE ACTUAL LIFTING...  THE PUPS  WILL THEN COME HERE== PROBABLY ON THE USUAL HOUSE CAMERA TO START WITH .. AND THEN MOVE TO THE "NURSERY" CAMERA... THE CONDO... FOR OVERNIGHT.
I EXPECT NO PROBLEM  WITH THE INTRODUCTION  TO THE BOSSY FEMALES OF CHAOS AND SIZZLE, ONLY BECAUSE ALLIES ARE PEOPLE WITH A COMMON ENEMY..    WORKS WITH DOGS TOO I FIND...

HO HO HO EVERYONE. HOPE ALL IS STAYING HEALTHY AND WARM.

THERE WAS A NURSE HEADING TO WORK ONE EVENING A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND WAS KILLED (POSSIBLY RANDOM SHOOTING). IT SHOWED A PICTURE OF HER ON THE NEWS AND SHE HAD A GREAT DANE WITH HER IN THE  PICTURE.
I RECEIVED A EMAIL FROM THERAPY ARC THE ORGANIZATION WE ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ASKING IF WE WOULD CONSIDER TAKING TUMBLER TO SAINT THOMAS HOSPITAL WHERE THE NURSE KILLED WORKED. IT TOOK SOME HARD CONVINCING BY THE PERSON GETTING IT APPROVED TO HAVE A  “GREAT DANE” THERAPY DOG COME SINCE SHE LOVED GREAT DANE SO MUCH. I ADMIT I WAS A LITTLE NERVOUS BUT KNEW DEEP DOWN IN MY HEART WE HAD TO GO.  TUMBLER DID BEAUTIFULLY. SMILES, WONDERFUL COMMENTS ON HER MANNERS AND OF COURSE MANY THANK YOUS. IT DID TAKE US A WHILE TO GET TO THE ACTUAL FLOOR BECAUSE SO MANY WANTED TO SEE HER. A NURSE SAID BEFORE COVID HIT THERE WERE LOTS OF THERAPY DOGS COME TO SEE PATIENTS BUT NOT SO MUCH FOR STAFF SO I AM GOING TO MAKE IT A POINT TO VISIT NURSES AS SOON AS IT OPENS BACK UP.
REST ASSURE TUMBLER IS LOVED BEYOND. I WILL ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL FOR HAVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE HER MOM AND WILL CONTINUE TO PAY IT FORWARD WHEN THE OPPORTUNITY OPENS BACK UP.

ya learn something new every day...--heatehr was overnight.. and made  breakfast..-
historically,,,,  i used to make sweet rolls ON CHRISTMASS..... you know those rolled up
things...... yEAST AND FLOUR -- BUTTER AND BROWN SUGGER... YUMMY STUFF THEN  LET RISE AND ROLL OUT.. BUT THEN I USED THE EXCUSE OF DOG HAIR ON THE COUNTERS AS MY KITCHEN WAS NO LONGER CONDUSIVE TO  UNADULTERATED FOOD ON ANY COUNTER --- SO I QUIT.   UNTIL HEATHER... LAST NIGHT ... SKIPPED THE YEAST FLOUR BIT AND DID THE SAME PERFORMANCE WITH  SLICED "?FRENCH? BREAD...
BAKED THEN FLOPPED UPSIDE DOWN SO THE GOO IS ON TOP.  WOW...
I REMEMBER.. BUTTER..MELTED IN THE BAKING DISH....LAYERED WITH BROWN SUGAR.. THEN DUSTED WITH CINNAMON THEN DROOLED WITH KARO ( PREF,, DARK KARO)..THEN YOU PUT IN THE BREAD /ROLLES WHATEVER...
I WOULD BAKE... THEN SIT TH E PAN ON SOMETHING COOL?SNOW?  TO SOLIDIFY THE GOOP A LITTLE.. THEN INVERT THE DISH ON A PLATE SO THE GOOP WOULD DRIBBLE DOWN  THRU WHATEVER BREAD/ROLLS YOU HAVE .

WAY TO GO !!!
======
LAST NIGHTS  INSOMNIA  IDEAS

BIG TV ON THE 1918 FLU AND HOW IT WAS CARRIED AROUND BY THE SOLDIERS AND  HOW it  RELATED TO THE ww1  -- I DECIDED   IF THEY HAD DISCOVERED A VACCINE  shot THAT ALSO INCLUDED BIRTH  CONTROLL -----  WE WOULD NOT NOW BE IN THE MESS WE Are.
-----
NEXT---AGAIN ---  HOW MANY AND VARIED ARE THE OFFERS OF A COLLEGE DEGREE... WELL ACTUALLY THE HUGE NUMGER OF COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES THAT ARE OFFERING SCHOLLARSHIPS...  - RIGHT-- TEHN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU WOULD HAVE TO SPEND MONEY AT THEIR COLLEGE...WITH A JUMBLE OF  CREDITS THAT DONT TRANSFER --  EVEN RESPECTABLE UNIVERSITIES     UNH... BENTLEY  UNSNH  SO HELP ME LAST NIGHT GOOGLE HAD SOME COURSE... DEAL FOR $49 PER MONTH. CRAZY ACRES NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO AWARD DEGREES.
WE DO HAVE SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE WORKED HERE WH O HAVE ENDED UP WOITH AN EDUCATION THEY WILL FIND USEFUL, AND THEY COU ND NOT LEARN THAT STUFF...ANYWHERE ELSE.
----
THEN I GOT INTO " matter may not be created nor destroyed"  and how Sweden  has only 1%  trash... meaning  99% recycled.. making me question why we are so far behind when plagerizing thier ideas might be a great idea..

we are far behind on a LOT OF THINGS-- THE COV IS ANOTHER...  "THE AMERICAN WAY" ALSO HAS AN ELEMENT OF " THE HARDHEADED WAY"   WHICH ON  OCCASION IS THE BEST WAY... HOWEVER......

BACK TO THE FLU OF 1918-- THERE WAS AN ELEMENT OF "NO ONE IS GOING TO  TELL ME TO WEAR A FACE MASK"
THOSE WHO DO NOT STUDY HISTORY ARE DOOMED TO REPEAT IT ????  THERE WERE ALOT OF SIMILAR SITUATIONS...
I AM CERTAINLY NOT QA STUDENT OF MUCH OF ANYTHING, BUT I DO BELIEVE THE MYTHBUSTERS WHEN THEY DEMO'D ..  A SNEEZE WITHOUT MUSTACHE GOES 18 FEET-- WITH MUSTACHE  11 FEET...
WITH THAT FOR A PROOF OF A BENEFIT OF AN OBSTACLE. I WILL GO FOR WEARING A MASK...
-----
6 MORE DAYS OT GO TO BE  OVER THE  OBSTACLE OF THE 2020'S
I AM AFRAID TO SAY .. "IT CAN'T GET WORSE"     BECAUSE IT CERTAINLY COULD..

BUT LETS HOPE..

 2020 12 24

Training problem of the day---- at the trainers meeting the other day all 8 complained about capricious and how she really is having problem lying down and staying there that's really my fault 'cause I haven't worked with her---- she was e always the different puppy -- out of the two litters she was the one to be alone and just watch the others begging for food or whatever .... one of the reasons I wanted to keep her well I wanted to see what what that meant in the long term she is certainly very observant and very quick to learn to do things she wants to do she's also very hardheaded when she doesn't want to do it for example she learned the yuppy puppy very quickly but lying down in the staying there is not in her vocabulary yet so we're going to work on that today probably in the condo room which is warm and I can lock everybody else out which is also called on camera I think it's the nursery camera ...We don't teach our service dogs to sit specifically ..becausw weather in harness and somebody is holding on to them we really don't want them sitting down as a routine exercise as the rest of the service dog world does however in her case sitting here with cookies in my hand and not wanting to move too much I thought I'd teach her to sit on command to get the cookie the little bit Contra two are ordinary traiding procedures .. quite definitely she knows what I mean when I say said but she clearly says  “why can't I just have the cookie “ approach to life ---hopefully starting this morning   we're going to have to have an adjustment to her ..

I know it's dangerous for me to say I'm going to do something because there's 1000 people who will be checking up on me see whether I accomplished what I said I was going to do this can be a problem well I have problems but all I can say is I'm gonna work on it

I'm also working on our friend Gemini regarding the basket--- I think the problem is if somebody puts the basket on the table in the Hall he doesn't think he's supposed to get it off the table and comes running back and says I can't find it or is not there I don't know what's going on or whatever we put it on the floor he gets it every time it's interesting that he had I think that's the reason the fact it's up on the table near where the we keep cookies and I think he's been scolded for trying to get the cookies out of the jar so he figures he's not supposed to take things off the table I've got to play with that one and try and figure that out too he certainly learned very quickly not to chase the chickens

This business of telling you  CP’s what may be going to happen ..has its ups and downs ...the two puppy project has been put off till Saturday .. the fact that it's put off at all makes it in a little bit different probability but we go on

----

Some might find yesterday's logic problem amusing .. a cowboy  arrived in the driveway with a great big trailer—oklahoma plates....  and he got out his cell phone and said he was to pick up mule  and a donkey . Now the facts as I know  them ---- we have a bunch of donkeys that are ours and we have one mule bea  who is also ours unless I make an official change. I tried calling Janine but since she works offsite she's often on her telephone for long stretches of time .I couldn't get her --  But the cowboy had somebody's phone number in New Hampshire .. who he thought my be able to help .. turns out she knew about the project but didn't know where the animals were .

that left me with the two animals  that Janine had dropped off the night before .. that I had yet to go look at ------all I knew was the blonde one might be pregnant .

that was clue number one because it was obviously not a donkey I could see from the cameras and you could not have a pregnant mule ----it doesn't work that way -----being a hybrid between a horse and a donkey you can't breed mules .. let me rephrase that you could breed them but it doesn't work they don't get pregnant ... so that left me with the spotted animal which might be a mule but I still didn't have a donkey that I could give the guy .. so he started through his cell phone to find out what other things he knew and one was to pick up the donkey at a place where he should take a right hand turn at a stone house .. well that would be ann’s but I still was minus the mule so I asked him when he got these directions from Janine and it was two days ago well.....  the two days ago I still had that second  part partially blind mule .. but she had taken it out of here because camera    people were complaining it was kicking at my donkeys .. but I didn't know where she'd taken it ..

with referenced toi the stone house, I opted to lead the cowboy to ann’s  where we did find the mule with sight problems.... and a bunch of donkeys.    I finally got Janine on the phone and asked her which donkey and she simply said the wild one .. let narrowed it down so the cowboy went into the barn where these donkeys were and five of them came roaring out and one didn't come out at all and it was quite a while before the cowboy came out because he was pinned in the corner by this wild donkey ..

so he backed his trailer up to the barn which wasn't easy---   tied  one end of a 30 foot rope to the trailer and managed to get the other end the rope to the wild donkeys halterb  and then just stood back for awhile while that donkey ran around and around it around .. and finally the cowboy constantly shorten the rope to the trailer so the donkey was standing right behind the entrance to the trailer and the cowboy then just chased him in ..  he was experienced animal handler ..

I have his card .. apparently this is what he does for a living is ship animals around the United States---- he had a nice trailer it had a lot of miles on it just as there were  a lot of miles on him and he could back that trailer up  with great  precision .. I had a dozen eggs in the car so I gave him those as a special treat for doing such a good job ..

And I kept his card....-----Around here you just never know.....

That is the  best I could do for excitement...

---

FY I --apparently constant contact has eliminated some emails in error and it's a little complicated as to getting them installed in the proper place so they get the daily doggy ..

so if any of you are having troubles I do post it on our website if you click on the coffee ----I prefer to have people read it in their email because then it goes into our pile of statistics which is helpful to know ---I will work on that today ---- it's not my favorite thing to do

Another favorite thing to do it is too deal with applying for another PPP loan getting the numbers ready for that episode they want specific numbers from 2019-2020 which will be find a dig out I don't know why I should complain they're offering to give us money  so I better do it .

Good evening,

Hope everyone at SDP is doing well and is ready for the holidays! Since Tin and I have been together for almost two weeks now I wanted to send you guys an update. First off Tin is doing great and seems to be loving his new home! Tin and my pet dog Bailey get along so well and have so much fun playing outside together especially when it’s snows! In the back yard as soon as Tin sees snow he gets excited and his head drops to the ground and he licks the snow everywhere he goes. Tin and I are still learning each other and we learn new things about each other every day which is helping the bonding process. Tin and I are so happy together! He loves to work! Whenever he sees me get his harness, vest, or chain his tail starts wagging and you can just tell that he is excited for whatever is to come. Tin and I have been going out everyday since we’ve gotten home. Mainly to stores like Kroger, Costco, TJ Max and Doctors appointments. He does such an excellent job when we are out I am truly so proud of him for going through every store like a champ. This past Sunday Tin and My family went to our local zoo to see the Christmas lights (the zoo does an amazing job). Every since I was a little kid we have gone and every single time I would have to use my wheelchair but thanks to Tin I was able to walk the entire zoo (with taking only a couple short breaks)!!! He did so good!! There was a lot of people at the zoo and Tin did an amazing job and the amount of people never bothered him. He also did a great job with the animals he noticed them but as soon as I told him to leave it it was like the animal was no longer there. Tin is such a fantastic service dog (and dog) and I am so very grateful and thankful that SDP was able to bless me with this amazing match!!

If you please forward this email to Carlene and Lynn that would be awesome!

Happy holidays to everyone at SDP

With Love,

Team Gabbey and Tin

THSANKFULLY ANNETTE WROTE A LONG EMAIL   TO CUT AND PASTE...SO HAVE AT IT.

GOOD MORNING CARLENE,

I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE THIS PICTURE WITH YOU OF AURORA YESTERDAY. I HAD WENT INTO THE BATHROOM AND CLOSED THE DOOR. MY SON WAS HOME AND SNAPPED THIS PICTURE.
OFF TO THE LEFT YOU CAN SEE LYDIA LAYING ON THE DOG BED . AURORA STANDING AT THE DOOR WITH HER HEAD PRESSED AGAINST IT.
I AM BLOWN AWAY AT JUST HOW QUICKLY SHE HAS BONDED WITH ME! IT IS AMAZING. SHE HAS BEEN GREAT WITH BOTH MY SONS AS WELL.

SHE IS DOING WELL. LITTLE THINGS ARE STARTING TO SHOW THROUGH. NOTHING THAT ISN'T MANAGEABLE.
WHEN I AM COOKING AT THE STOVE OR FIXING SOMETHING TO EAT SHE HAS HER NOSE RIGHT UP THERE AT THE STOVE OR COUNTER, SO REINFORCING THE "LEAVE IT" STRONGLY AND SHE DOES LISTEN.
SHE DOES PLAY VERY ROUGH SO I CANNOT BRING LYDIA OUT WITH HER AFTER THEIR FIRST OUTING IN THE MORNING. LYDIA CANNOT MOVE FAST ENOUGH AND WILL GET HURT.
SHE HAS EVEN HURT MY SONS DANE CAPONE GOING FOR HIS EARS SO AGAIN REINFORCING "EASY" STRONGLY AND SHE DOES LISTEN. THEY ARE NEVER UNSUPERVISED SO I AM HOPING WE CAN GET HER TO PLAY A LITTLE NICER.

I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO BRING HER OUT IN PUBLIC AS OF YET GIVEN THE STRICT GUIDELINES IN VERMONT WITH A 14 DAY QUARANTINE RULES IF YOU'VE BEEN OUT OF STATE SO I HAVE 7 MORE DAYS TO GO. VERMONT HAS ONE OF THE LOWEST CASE RATES IN THE US SO I WILL ABIDE BY THOSE RULES EVEN THOUGH EVERYONE AT SDP WERE ALWAYS MASKED. BUT I CANNOT WAIT TO WORK WITH HER AND HAVE OUR MUCH NEEDED OUTINGS!

THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO!
FOREVER GRATEFUL,

ANNETTE, Retired SD LYDIA & SD AURORA
