 JULY 11 2022

WELL... ALL OUR PICTURES FOR THE CALENDAR WERE TOSSED TO THE BREEZES BECAUSE NOT OF THE PROPER QUAL;ITY..   STRAIGHT FROM CAMERA TO CALENDAR WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE...  CAMERA TO INTERNET TO  SCREENSHOT  TO CAMERA TO CALENDAR IS NOT.    BACK WHEN WILLIAM HUBER DID TEH PHOTOS, THEY WERE A THING OF BEAUTY... I KID YOU NOT....  AND I AM SLOWLY  MATTING THOSE INTO FRAMABALE ARTWORK SOON TO BE ON THE DOGGIE BAG... BUT THESE ARE MORE THE HUMOROUS TYPE PICTURES WHERE I CERTAINLY AM WILLING TO SACRIFICE PIXELS FOR CONTENT... BUT APPARENTLY THAT IS NOT GOING TO WORK FOR THE "BOARD".. I AM SORRY TO. SAY THAT SAME CONCEPT IS SOMETHING I DEAL WITH IN THE NEWSPAPER TOO. THE EDITOR SEEMS TO REQUIRE REALLY FINE TUNED PICTURES... DARN

I really wanted to get a picture of three danes in the bathtub..   We tried the other day with three of the younger dogs and handlers and got absolutely nowhere.. so I tried with larkey and Germany.. who pretty much got right in the tub  when told to get in there..  it's not a bad picture with me sitting on the edge of the bathtub but then I realized I wanted three great Danes in a tub so my option was to try and stuff in -----sizzle if I could find her and then I thought anNE. is Danish so she could be the third one in the tub..  I haven't gotten her to agree to this yet but it certainly would be an amusing picture and probably easier to do then again sizzle in the tub although I could try.... actually the one that get him trained to do that  ( i was so  pleased with myself. to get two of them in the tub)  and then Lynn told me that last time they were at some corporate function which produced bathtubs she had had larkey in A bath  tub already -----I wondered why he stepped in so willingly---  Although Gemini never questioned well when I asked him to step into the tub. also. .

I did have 3 Danes in a bathtub in the commercial in New York so it can be done-----but three danes  is a lot of dog... Actually about 450 pounds of dog..  so that stays in the end process mode..

Sooooooo.. they ( this board) said  we can bring a camera  and you can set up the wacky ideas with the dogs...  like   ok... now be creative..

as far as I know ... creative is not like that--- creative is or happens most easily when lively people sit around and drink coffee and talk strange ideas and then some creative both of lightning may enter into the conversation that's how you get creative ideas---you have to have things happening around you to see some peculiar slant...   .

 ****

the entire service dog project entourage went to a farmers market yesterday and apparently with so many dogs of ours there ----we put out a lovely display of perfectly behaved service dogs..  we received a lot of comments about how perfect the dogs were..   this is also accentuated by the cartoon character of a Great Dane that misbehaves...   or there are so many in real life that actually do misbehave.. but when you have 150 pounds of dog it's so much nicer if they respond  to  general conversation. without a great show of obedience commands..  I've said many times that our dogs are educated.. I suppose that means that the people who handle these dogs on a daily basis are educators not the typical trainer.  I've also said many things like great Danes seemed to me to be born with a certain responsible personality and if you could just develop that a little bit they really are quite delightful..

I've also said anytime you handle a dog or child you are training them.. sometimes good sometimes bad..

I do approve highly of the AKC. canine good citizen program..   it started out to be a dog version of 4H..  and it does have realistic goals.. so a child starts the dog in that kind of program generally you end up with a better dog and sometimes a better child in the process..   to go on into strict obedience trials where you do things like call a dog and stick your hand up in the air to tell a dog to lie down in the process of coming toward you that dog is supposed to drop instantly... that's a bit heavy for my liking...m when I ask  a dog to lie down I am saying to them "we're gonna be here for awhile get comfortable "....and I expect them to be lying down within 5 or 10 seconds.. and I expect them to relax and stay there until I tell him to get up.. Germany and larcky did that perfectly yesterday... but it was amusing to watch other people decide I really should have a leash on them and hold them

even at my advanced age I was ready to jump on them if they moved and they knew it.. it takes 2 seconds for a Great Dane to gather up his rear end and get his feet underneath him to stand up and go chase another dog.. which means that my eyes were glued to those two dogs lying in the grass and I knew in those two seconds I could make a very loud noise and they would probably lie down again but it is a split second thing and you do have to pay attention but once you go through that kind of exercise they're awfully nice.

NOTE LARKEYS PAW OVER HER NECK.... OVERNIGHTER.....
