NOW THERE IS A STORY-- WELL....A COUPLE OF THEM-
I WAS THERE TO TRY AND FIND A DANE OR TWO TO IMPORT---- I HAD A LIST OF KENNELS FROM THE DUESCHE DOGGIE SOCIETY( GERMAN AKC) SORTED BY ZIP CODE--- AND I HAD ONE OF THOSE EUROPASS RAILROAD TICKETS- MY ROOMATE FROM EDINBRGH - GWEN- WAS WITH ME-- OUR METHOD WAS TO GET ON A NICE LOOKING TRAIN- AND THEN TRY AND GET THE CONDUCTOR TO TELL US WHAT ZIP CODES WE WOULD BE GOING TO---WE SPENT A WEEK - A VERY DIFFERENT WAY TO TRAVEL/.... HAD A GRAND TIME.
WE CAME TO REALLY APPRECIATE THE TRAIN SYSTEMS IN GERMANY-- INCLUDING SEEING A VERY YOUNG CHILD ON THE PLATFORM WAITING FOR THE TRAIN-- SCHOOL BAG-- JUST LIKE AMERICAN KIDS WAIT FOR THE SCHOOL BUSSES--- HE WAS TAKING A TRAIN TO THE NEXT TOWN TO SCHOOL.. IN THE US, WE WOULD RUN A YELLOW BUS THAT COULD NOT POSSIBLEY KEEP A SCHEDLUE
FYI THOSE GERMAN TRAINS RAN WITH A NOTATION OF 30 SECONDS--- 10:14:30 WAS 14 AND A HALF MINUTES AFTER 10-- AND THEY MEANT IT. AND THEY RAN SO OFTEN--- - ALONG WITH CARRYING BIKES, CARS WERE NOT NECESSARY- MANY TIMES I LOOK AT ROUTE 95 COMMUTEERS AND WONDER WHY CAN;T WE???? BEST WE CAN DO IS A ZIP LANE FOR A CAR WITH 2 OCCUPANTS...THERE IS SOMETHING MISSING HERE.
GWEN WAS FLUENT IN FRENCH-- WHICH GOT US SOME POINTS-- BUT ONE NIGHT -- WE WERE IN SOME SMALL TOWN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHEN THE NEXT TRAIN LEFT THE STATION AND ALL WE GOT WAS "NINE" WHICH WE THOUGHT WAS NINE O'CLOCK--
BUT IT WAS THE NEGATIVE NEIGN -- LIKE THERE IS NONE.. THAT WAS A CHALLANGE... OTHER THAN THAT WE DID WELL

George and I are having a wonderful vacation. He is being so good. We go out everyday and work together. Last week we went to NY and stayed at a hotel and George was so good. Everyone loved him. He didn't like when I jumped into the pool though. He was laying down and once I jumped he jumped up. Once he knew I was ok he went right back to laying down. We are having so much fun together and I am so happy that he will be with me for a few more days. This weekend we are going to visit my Oma And Opa and they haven't meet George yet but they are super excited. Thank you for letting George spend vacation with me! Bella

Hello Carlene and everyone at SDP!

So much has happened since we last wrote to you. In late October we were very fortunate to venture to Savannah GA, and St. Augustine, FL, both are places that have been on my bucket list for quite some time. We traveled with two friends and had a great time. Lola learned to work with me and a wheelchair for the first time and she was perfection! Somebody pushes my chair and she walks right beside me and I hold her harness handle like I would if walking. We went on a few trolley tours and everyone got such a kick out of her sitting in the seat next to me with her head hanging out of the window. It was hysterical to see her head move “right” and “left” when the tour guide would point things out to us. We went to a restaurant and the owner had just lost his Dane. He sat with us and told us all about his furbaby and cried. He said (and I agree) all dogs are wonderful, but there is just something special about a Dane. So many people stopped us during our travels to ask questions about Lola and take pictures with her.

A few weeks ago Lola and I were invited to a local elementary school to do a presentation on service animals. A friend of ours coaches young inner city girls in track and field. They were learning about people with “differences”. Whether it be skin color, backgrounds, disabilities etc. We sat in a room with about 12 girls ages 8-10. We showed them all the wonderful skills Lola has to help me daily. We taught them how to approach somebody with a service animal and how people with disabilities are like everyone else. They were all very attentive and respectful. At the end they each got a picture taken with Lola. Two weeks after our meeting, they ran a local 5k. At the end of the race a man was there with a large dog in a vest. The girls got very excited and ran up to him to ask if they could pet him because they can’t pet Lola. The man said his dog was a therapy dog and they were encouraged to pet him. The girls began to tell him all about Lola and the wonderful things she does for “Miss Michelle”. My friend said it was a great feeling to watch her girls talk about Lola and the feeling of pride that they understood how special she is.

We are doing so many things I wasn’t able to do before, my sweet girl and I, and I am beyond grateful to all of you for these life changing experiences I am able to have. We hope you are all well and look forward to coming up soon to visit!!

COULD YOU SEND ME YOUR FULL NAMES FOR HER LIST? THERE IS ALSO BONNIE-- WHO IS A VETERNARIAN... WE SHOULD ADD HER TOO...

MY PROBLEM-- PER USUAL-- IS TO CELL PHONE 911 AND GET THE AMBULANCE HERE WOULD BE ABOUT AS QUICK AS TRYING TO LOCATE A RESIDENT MD/RN/EMT ON THE PROPERTY-- THE AMBU STATION IS 2 MILES DOWN LINEBROOK RD --BY THE CUMBERLAND

I KNOW THE LAST PART- THAT COUNTS ---IS SUPPOSED TO BE MILKY...... IT COULD HAVE BEEN- BUT IT DID NOT LOOK THAT WAY TO ME- AND I DID NOT HAVE A CHANCE TO STUDY IT UNDER A MICROSCOPE FOR "SWIMMERS" . SO THE REASON MARIAH IS NOT PREGNANT IS UNKNOWN...- MAYBE THERE WAS SOME LEFT OVER BALONEY SANDWICH LEFT IN THE SANDWICH BOX WE WERE USING FOR COLLECTION... WHO KNOWS... WE HAD TO IMPROVIZSE...

Hello Carlene!!
We hope all is well at SDP this winter. Harry and I are doing well. Thank goodness he loves the car so it makes trips up and down the coast as painless as possible. Harry has been a saint dealing with travel between our two homes. We have missed the farm and can not wait to visit soon. Harry could use some big friends to run around with and play with. We look forward to meeting the new people that visit sdp and can not wait to see our friends there!!! We wish you all a happy new year and all the best in 2015!! -

THAT CAR THAT DEB AND INGRID DONATED IS LOVELY--... NOW THAT WE OWN A TRUCK FOR CARRYING THE C-R-A-P AROUND... MAYBE WE COULD KEEP IT IN THE EXCELLENT CONDITION IT IS NOW IN... I.E. CLEAN-- CONDITION... NOT ANOTHER STORAGE SHED !!!

WE DO HAVE A VERY LARGE PROBLEM KEEPING EQUIPMENT WHERE WE NEED IT-- IT IS THE OLD "KEEPING BANDAIDS IN TEH BATHROOM" PROBLEM-----THAT IS ONLY LOGICAL IF YOU KEEP THE CARVING KNIVES AND CAN OPENERS THERE ALSO..

THERE IS A CONCEPT HERE-- WHICH IS DEAD SERIOUS---THE PROCESS OF GOING OUT IN THE CAR WITH BENTLEY . LETS SAY 20 DEGREES.. I WANT TO FIND A JACKET FOR BENTLEY- ( A FICTITIOUS STORY-- NO WAY AM I WALKING AROUND IN TH E COLD WITH HIM -BUT I MIGHT WANT HIM TO PRESENT SOME LOFTY IMMAGE )--- BECAUSE HE FITS ALL THE OLD DONKEY JACKETS, I KNOW WE HAVE 2 SETS OF 8 OF THOSE ( 16 FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE COUNTING) AND I --LONG AGO BOUGHT A FOAL BALNKET FOR THUMPER ( BIG DOG) SINCE THEN WE HAVE HAD GIFTS OF ..MANY---AND A FEW ARE TRULY XXL FOR A DANE----- MOST EVEN IF XXL ARE INTENDED FOR A XXL DOBERMAN - OR SOME SUCH--- WHICH FIT THE YOUNGER DOGS FINE-- BUT NOT BENTLEY-- SO I AM LOOKING FOR ONE OF NO FEWER THAN 20 BLAKETS THAT I AM SURE WE OWN. BECAUSE OF THE EFFORT INVOLVED IN LOCATING ONE OF THE 20 , I END UP NOT GOING OUT AT ALL.

9 POPCORN PACKETS ( FROM STEDMAN KIDS) , A COPPER POT OF WEIGHT STICKERS FROM PURINA BAGS, BACK SCRATCHER, STETHOSCOPE ,A 4 FOOT RULER. AND A FIRE EXTINGUISHER.

THE RACK (THE BUSINESS END OF A BROKEN METAL RAKE) WHICH IS PERFECT TO HOLD THE SIMPLE ROPE LEASHES WE CONSTANTLY USE CAN NOT BE USED FOR THAT PURPOSE BECAUSE IT IS FILLED WITH- ANYTHING ELSE THAT WILL HANG-- A DEVICE FOR ALPHAETICALLY SORTING NAME TAGS- THE MAIL BAG, AN EXTENSION CORD. SOMEBODY'S LEATHER BELT AND A COFFEE MUG.

NOW....IS THE PROBLEM THAT PEOPLE ARE TOO RUSHED TO PUT THINGS WHERE THEY BELONG-- OR THAT NO ONE EXCEPT TRACY SEEMS TO KNOW WHERE ANYTHING IS ANYWAY..?

AND THEH THERE IS MEGAN-- BLESS HER - SHE IS A GODSEND - SHE IS SUPER AT NEARLY EVERYTHING ,,, INCLUDING STRAIGHTEINING THINGS OUT SO IT LOOKS GOOD. SHE HAS A FANTASTIC MEMORY-- SO WHEN SHE SHOVES SOMETHING OUT OF THE WAY TO SOME UNOCCUPIED PLACE-- NOT EVEN HER VERSION OF SAINT ANTHONY CAN FIND IT.

SHE HAD DEVISED "ABSOLUTE" ANSWERS TO HER VARIOUS CHALLANGES.. LIKE COOKING.

SHE HUNG ALL HER POTS AND PANS FROM THE RAFTERS IN HER KITCHEN SO SHE COUDL STAND AND GRAB WHAT SHE WANTED WITHOUT ALOT OF . WONDERING WHERE SHE PUT IT LAST.

SHE WAS MARRIED TO UNCLE WARREN-- HE HAD A ROOM OFF THE GARAGE- WE WERE NEVER TOO SURE WHAT HAPPENED TO UNCLE WARREN...- IT WAS LONG AGO...

watching kaira get a drink this morning- and back off and drool on the towel, i was reminded of my third grade.

my third grade class had to chew on wax and fill a small bottle with saliva as part of th e tooth decay/floridation trials in newburgh new york- 30 little kids- 30 little bottles -aim , accracy and rubber gloves were, i am sure, non existant-

third grade was a tough year for me- for an entirely different reason- it condemned me to 8 years of "she could do better" "should try harder" " if she would only try " on all my report cards..... because it was the year i got a perfect score on an IQ test.-----before you make any rash decisions, there were details.

for this test we were given ye olde number 2 pencil and a booklet sort of thing--- it was a strange thing-- kinda thick.... so on looking it over as i waited... i noticed strips of carbon paper inside it... those strips transferred my answers of A B C D to a master sheet- - so by looking inside i could see where they wanted my X which saved alot of time by not having to read all those silly questions-- i was done --- fast.

to this day - i remember a great flurry of activity involving the principal-- he scared me so i didn't say anything... i did tell my mother-- but since she was president of the PTA (parent teachers association)

she was not about to admit her kid had to cheat on an IQ test.

there is no way any one can live up to the expectations created by a perfet IQ test --- least of all ...me..

with my distinct lack of ability to spell. the next 8 years of history, social studies, english etc-- all of which required spelling were a colorful aray of reports with red circles and the grade of "D"-- i am sure they would have been "F" except for that PTA bit.-- then i got to algebra and geometry and i was all set... finally --- no spelling required.

you new commers may not be fully aware --- as i have tried lately to work with spell check...

maybe to get the full flavor of the daily doggie we should do a week of no spell check..... different world.

which is why i am so thankful for people like linda k for writing those letters yesterdeay to people who have inquired-- or applied-- giving them an update on their status with SDP.,..

i wish we had millions of dollars to raise/train/ donate many more dogs. the need is there-- the dogs are doing a great job. and the requests we get are tough to turn down.. but there are situations we just can not handle---time and money dictate that we stay pretty close to new england. and we have guidelines on our web-- we give preference to veterans---

what really mixes up the process is-- the dog has to want the job.--- a great example is bella and george...- at least a dozen other dogs on the property were barely polite to bella, but george loves her.

when we are dealing with people and dogs, there are sooooo many variables. there is no one size fits all, and all we can do is try--- i live in fear of the day someone arrives for a dog -- and the dog says NO.

it is unlikely- but-- remember the story of tiffany-- one of my first danes--- hundreds of thousands of people patted her-- literally --at all the chowderfests, harborfests etc in and around boston - one day- at the prudential tower- there was one little girl she hated--- we worked thru it and went back to thousands of friendly encounters-- next year same job at the Pru -- same girl-- same response.- it can happen.

the closer example is--- bailey-- kind sweet loving bailey--- does not apporve of george(dr.vet)- and i don't think it is vet related.-- what worries me a little is i don't think george takes it as serously as he should-- he is inclined to dismiss it with a cookie- but i know my dogs-- she will take his $^&^&^ cookie- but the way she keeps her eyes on him when she is anywheres near him, looks to me like she is ready to do her job as she sees it-- which is to eliminate george. believe me i watch her.. there is THAT look..

deb nelson (neighbor) was here yesterday to donate a toyota highlander to us-- i am not sure what we will do about it yet-- i bet itt would get btter gas milage than our vans--

we could sell it --- 2006 with 190k miles which for a toyota is not bad... needs tires and a few details-- looks perfect...

IT IS NOT EASY...  I HAVE HEARD GOERGE SAY TO ANOTHER VET ABOUT SOME IMMAGE  -- "I DON'T THINK THAT IS A PUP" --  AND I DON'T EVEN TRY FOR A COUNT...  A YES HAS ALWAYS BEEN A YES-- BUT A NO HAS ONLY A 94% ACCURACY

THIS CONCEPT OF REARING A WELL BEHVED DOG- AND THEN HAVING THEM BOND WITHOUT ALOT OF  MICROMANAGEMENT IS SO CRITICAL-- I DO NOT WANT TO JINKS OURSELVES-  BUT  I HAVE ONLY TO WATCH THE VIDEO OF GEORGE MINCING HIS WAY DOWN SOME STAIRS WITH BELLA- DOING FINE- THEN SHE LOOSES HER BALANCE JUST A BIT AND     GRABS  ONE EAR TO STEADY HERSELF--YOU CAN NOT TRAIN FOR THAT..... HE TOTALLY ACCEPTS IT AND DOES HIS JOB OF TAKING CARE OF HER.  BELLA'S USE OF GEORGE IS 100% UP TO THE PARENTS-   FROM WHERE I SIT- SOMETHING HAS "CLICKED" WITH BELLA AND GEORGE- AND I SEE NO REASON- FROM THE DOG'S STANDPOINT TO INTERUPT.. .. GRANTED WE HAVE TO EXPLAIN  SCHOOL CHILDREN TO GEORGE BEFORE SHE CAN TAKE HIM TO HER SCHOOL.   WE DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER DOG ON THE PROPERTY WHO COULD/WOULD DO WHAT      GEORGE IS DOING ..  AND WHAT HE IS DOING IS TOTALLY UP TO THE PARENTS.  I AM A NERVOUS WRECK WATCHING...

AND THEN THERE IS  WENDY--

 NO WAY WOULD I EVER THINK WENDY SHOULD WALK HUNTER DOWN THE VERY STEEP FLIGHTS OF STAIRS THAT HE NEEDS TO   NEGOTIATE IN 180 SECONDS TO KEEP THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAPPY -- BUT HIS PARENTS HAVE MUCH MORE FAITH THAN I DO AND

 THEY SEE THEM WORKING TOGETHER EVERY DAY ... I DON'T KNOW WHAT MY SOLUTION WOULD BE IN HUNTER'S CASE--- HE IS ON THE SECOND FLOOR CLASSROOM-    THERE IS AN ELEVATOR- THAT CAN NOT BE USED IN A FIRE--   BUT TO USE WENDY TO GO DOWN THOSE STAIRS MAKES ME NERVOUS-- MIND YOU SHE HAS NOW BEEN DOING IT  SEVERAL TIEMS DAILY FOR MONTHS.... I AM STILL NERVOUS-

I AM NERVOUS ON THOSE STAIRS,  ME PERSONALLY ....NERVOUS-- I FIERCELY HANG ON TO  THE HANDRAIL .

NOW THAT I HAVE ACCREDITATION AT LEAST STARTED IN MY HEAD, I SEE A GREAT NEED FOR REDESIGNING THE REFRIGERATORS--- THEY NEED MORE BIG WIDE /THICK DOORS WITH SHELVES AND SHELVING THAT IS NO MORE THAN 15 " DEEP.  MY CURRENT FRIDGEE IS THE ONE WALTER IS STANDING AGAINST IN THE CALENDAR..... OLD....

WE NEED TO GET RID OF THE "BEHIND" PROBLEM WHICH CAN CAUSE PEOPLE TO NEED TO PUT TH E      YEAR ON THE "DATE OPENED" STICKERS.

SHOPPING AT COSTCO DOES NOT HELP--- THE PRICE OF 1/2 GAL OF TERYAKI SAUCE AT COSTCO IS THE SAME AS THE PRICE OF A PINT IN THE SUPERMARKET.

THIS EXPLAINS WHY WE HAVE 3  1/2 GAL.... WHO KNEW THEY WERE BACK THERE.????

Overheard one morning:  "Frenzy, where have you been all my life?", as Jim doubled over in laughter.
Jim was in the process of sitting on the recliner.
Frenzy was in the process of sitting on Jim's lap.
The hysterical sight was the "in process" part.
Watching a Great Dane sit on your lap always brings a smile.
Having one try to sit on your lap when you're not quite sitting is a "Marmaduke" moment.
Jim & Frenzy go out some where every day to practice their skills & continue their bonding.
Going out each day is huge, when Jim would rather just sit in his chair.
He's always better when he returns from an outing.
It's uplifting to get out, & meeting people with a well trained Great Dane makes every outing an adventure.
The Frenzy/Jim team causes smiles from strangers, cameras to snap, and oohs & ahhs.
Homer & Karma will never be forgotten.
They are held in out hearts forever loved.
We thank all of Santa's elves at SDP for their hard and consistent work.
SDP has changed the quality of our lives.

Hi Carlene,

I wanted to take a few minutes this morning to write and wish you a very Merry 
Christmas!

Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't also take a minute to also thank you 
for the Amazing Willow and the year she and I have shared. This year saw our 
partnership grow stronger. While she also became more independent, she became a 
more confident partner who goes wherever and does whatever is asked of her. She 
became a bit of a "social butterfly" as our speaking and advocacy work has 
grown. She seems to like the attention and it certainly doesn't hurt the cause 
when I allow her to greet people as we're setting up. She's learned the 
difference between when she's working or "you can say hello". I often look at 
her and wonder if she knew that this is what she knew she was destined for that 
day she pinned me in her pen an demanded my attention.

It has been quite a year and all of it has been because of Wil's and therefore, 
SDP. I know I've said it before but it's so very true. My life will never be the 
same as before MS. It can't be and I'm okay with that now. But, because of 
Willow in many ways, it's actually better and for that I'm grateful. 

Thank you again for having that "crazy idea" you had of using Great Danes as 
Service Dogs. And thank you for giving up your home and your life to make it a 
reality. For everyone who is fortunate enough to share their life with one of 
these amazing partners and rely on them everyday. We are grateful.

what is today? isn't this the day before the post christmas sales begin?

i already bought a new tv- because the interior wall of the house was not strong enough to hold up the old monster ..

and before everyone tells me i should have waited for post christmas sales to buy it, i had 2 volunteer guys here to put it up- and that was worth more than any january sales.

interesting night with a new tv,.... that means another remote to add to the collection--- i tried to watch the news- but the mixture of remotes meant the bed kept folding me up as the airconditioner went on and off ---while the car started --- the garage door went up and down..and .the tv in the other room blared forth the news.

but i did see the inner workings of the nutcracker performance from the one channel i could get

my life with technology is starting out well today .....

i only had to redo my verizon password once before i cracked whatever code they live by.

they sent me a teaser - i had a paperbill for $804 and today's email notice was a credit bal of $2.18-- can't help but be curious-- so i tried and along the way i had a new screen i had never seen before-- "your account has been locked"- i don't know how that happened-- but i am not going to argue that one.

kiara got the old "what for" yesterday by mariah who got very tired of the rude pup--- i am not sure there ever was actual contact- there was no blood-- but there certainly was alot of screaming and running---- i was pleased she did not run like an idiot-- which can happen-- she ran for my feet-- which is a sensable reaction

bruce- who is now in the house- needs some serious conversation... he has a "why should i?" attitude which must change.. he had a bad setback yesterday when he was being bad- and i went to grab a leash to get control of the situation- and there were none-- so he got away with being bad--- that is gong to change today big time... but first i have to make anothere 2 dozen ropes with rings...

please do not mail me a bunch of leashes--- we find the ring with the rope the most useful and i make them by the dozen--- and tehy wander off--- i found some in the chicken coop...

this demonstrates the need for the new years resolutions to clean up and organize this ongoing surge of "things not quite in a useful place"

in the real world the problem is demonstrated by keeping the first aid for lacerations in the bathroom. at sdp magnify that concept by 1000%

exzmple-- why would anyone keep the artificial insemination tubes on top of the filing cabinet in the office.-- if there is a logical place for those , it is not in the office.

i don't have to go that far... among the things on my desk are a packet of fabreze car fresheners... next to silver trinkets to label which wine glass belongs to who...and 16 various containers of chocolate.

so much for the 5 pounds i lost by being sick- i have either been re-hydrated- or it is the chocolate-- or those sinful caramels from montana

historically, when i heard the word montana, i would think of billings montana, and the trip i took to buy a horse for rex trailer- which i did, and since i had to hire a truck to bring that one home , i bought 5 more-- which we eventually sold... that billing montana horseauction is a well run auction- and they ave some great useable horses that go thru there-- along with some wild ones... interesting google

i ate the brazil nuts last night and i can not say i slept better... i think there are too many variables to be able to claim the nuts as a sleep aid... but i will keep trying and report..

i think i ate too much roast beef just before going to bed. it was gooooood.

the interesting part ( hopefully) was shopping in costco for the roast... i did not realize 78% of the rest of th e world eats roast beef on christmas-( for me-- just tuesday was a big enough excuse)..i listened to so many people pick up one roast and decide it was too flecked with fat - they wanted no "marbleing" ... which--if my father was right ,-- made it more flavorful and more tender----- i went for the marbled- and it was gooood.

father was the one to say buy the pup who can stick his legs straight back- which seems to have some relationship to dysplasia-- born in 1900 the word dysplasia had not even been invented by then.

man does not live on pizza alone-- so i am trying to have some "normal" food around.... AND IT HAS TO BE THE KIND WHERE THE PREP DOES NOT NEED CONSANT ATTENTION I.E. ROAST OR STEW POT COOKING TYPE.

VENTING.....THE VERIZON ...SET-UP - 5 STEPS

DEAR ATTORNEY GENERAL---

WOULD YOU PLEASE FIGURE OUT HOW MANY PEOPLE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO AND WHAT WAS THE TOTAL PROFIT MADE BY VERIZON ON THIS INNOCENT ERROR.??

1. VERIZON IS ALLOWED TO INCLUDE ANOTHER "COMPANY'S" BILL ON THEIRS UNDER THE TITLE OF "OTHER PROVIDERS"

2. THEORETICALLY, OUR LONG DISTANCE CARRIER WAS "PHISHED" ( SWITCHED WITHOUT MY PERMISSION) AND THIS OTHER COMPANY BEGAN TO CHARGE 10 CENTS PER CALL AMOUNTING TO ABOUT $25 PER MONTH- IN A LONG LIST OF VERIZON $12.99 CHARGES FOR CALL WAITING ETC, NOT SOMETHING THAT WOULD STAND OUT.

3. WHEN I CALLED TO ASK "WHAT THE &*&)(*( " VERIZON WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL SAYING THEY WERE THRILLED TO HAVE ME BACK AS A CUSTOMER. AND GET ME THE $25 CHARGES REFUNDED...

4. I JUST HAPPENED TO NOTICE THAT IN THE 3 MONTHS INVOLVED, VERIZON CHARGES FOR VARIOUS SERVICES HAD CREPT UP ABOUT $100...

INTERNET SERVICE WENT FROM $48 TO $129 AND TV WENT FROM $107 TO $123. I CALLED AGAIN AND WAS TOLD I DID NOT HAVE THE "BUNDLE " I PREVIOUSLY HAD BECAUSE CHANGED THE LONG DISTANCE ( REMEMBER I DID NOT... SOMEONE DID ) BUT I COULD SIMPLY GO ONLINE AND CHANGE IT.

5. ONLINE???? WAS LIKE BLOWING SMOKE IN THE WIND. I GOT NOWHERE

SEVERAL PEE FACTS I DO KNOW.... BENTLEY HAS A RESIVOIR OF OVER A GALLON- WHICH WHEN ALLOWED TO EMPTY AGAINST A TREE WILL TAKE 2 HOURS 47 MINUTES- OFTEN INVOLVING HIS FRONT FOOT. AND IT IS YELLOW.

THE OTHER PEE FACT- VERIFIED BY BOTH MEGAN AND ME, ONCE THE LITTLE FAUCET HAS STARTED TO DRIAN YOU CAN NOT CUT OFF THE STREAM BY GRABBING THE END-- IT WILL CONTINUE TO SQUIRT OUT BETWEEN YOUR FINGERS. WITH MEGAN IT WAS IN COSTCO--- WTH ME IT WAS WHEN I WAS TRAINING WITHA WHEELCHAIR IN SAMS-. APPARENTLY WE ARE DUE FOR 3 DAYS OF A "GULLY WASHER "STORM... I DO LIKE THE HEAVY RAIN-- CLEANS TEH PLACE UP- I USED TO HANG RUGS ON FENCES AND DOUSE IN SOAP KNOWING EVENTUALLY THEY WOULD GET RINSED.

AND THEY I GOT TO WONDERING WHY I COLD NOT PUT A WIRE DOG CRATE ON TOP OF MY CAR AND DRIVE UP AND DOWN RT 95 TO RINSE AND DRY THINGS.

THAT WAS WHEN I HAD ONLY 3 OR 4 DOGS.

NOW IT IS A MAJOR UNDERTAKING.... INVOLVING DRY WELLS AND GROUND WATER LEVELS...

WE ARE USING THE BARN LAUNDRY MORE THAN THE LAUNDRY ONE... THE LAUNDRY DRY WELL AIN'T REALLY DRY-- AND COMPLAINS.... WE MAY NEED THE TANK PUMPED AGAIN-- THE LEACH FIELD IS (40K)HUGE AND UNDER THE PARKING LOT-- AND I CERTAINL Y HOPE THAT IS NOT A PROBLEM

IF I EVER READ THE TOYOTA SEQUOITA MANUAL ON HOW TO START THE CAR, I NEVER WOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE. I AM ON PAGE 27 - PUSH THIS, TURN THAT AND BE SURE TO LIFT THE OTHER----THERE IS NO WAY I COULD PASS ANY TEST ON HOW TO START THE ENGINE RELIABLY..

TRY THIS ----- A SIMPLE FLIP OF THE RING ON THE KEY COULD CAUSE THE ENGING TO STOP ONCE IT WAS RUNNING.

OH GOODY !!!

When starting the engine, do not

use the key with a key ring resting

on the key grip and do not press

the key ring against the key grip.

Otherwise the engine may not start,

or may stop soon after it starts.

CAN'T YOU JUST HEAR ME SCREAMING AT THE CAR BECAUSE IT KEEPS STOPPING--- THEN I CALL AAA AND THE MAN COMES AND FLIPS THE RING OFF THE TOP OF THE KEY AND IT RUNS...

SOMEHOW.

kiara needs a mommy's discipline-- she gets hyper at chains these 2 males-- and after a few minutes she winds up instead of winding down... if i repramand her in th e slightest she stops-- at least for 5 seconds-- but i think that proves enough that we need to do the skin of the neck down to the ground maneuver like we do with the very smaller pups..

I HAVE SEVERAL EXTREMELY LONG PRINT OUTS FROM THE POST OFFICE-- I THINK THE QUICKEST WAY WOULD BE TO TYPE ZIP CODES INTO A SPREAD SHEET AND THEN SORT THEM .. SHEILA TELLS ME "PEOPLE" ARE MENTIONING IT ON FACEBOOK-- AND I DON'T DO BOOK FACINGS SO LET ME KNOW-- THOSE PRINTOUTS ARE SOME 20 TO 30 FEET LONG BUT I CAN DO JUST ZIPS.. MAYBE SOMEONE CAN READ THEM TO ME.

I AM PRETTY GOOD AT NUMBER TYPING- AT LEAST I USED TO BE WHEN I DID THE MAGAZINE BILLING.

THE ONLY POSSIBEL GLITCH I CAN SEE - ASIDE FROM THE RANDOM PLAIN OLD ERROR, IS WHEN A CALENDAR, AND A BOOK AND A MONKEY FIST ARE ON THE SAME PIECE OF PAPER, THAT MIGHT BE THE ONES TO GO ASTRAY... WE WILL FIGURE IT OUT

KAREN TOOK PICTURES OF ALL THE DOGS ON THE CHAIRS AND THE PEOPLE STANDING OR SITTIN G ON THE FLOOR.. EVEN KIARA HAS LEARNED TO STAND AND STARE TO GET SOMEONE OUT OF A CHAIR.

GRACE DID YOEMAN'S SERVICE..BY 6PM SHE HAD THE BLIND STAGGERS.... I HOPE SHE IS ALIVE TODAY.

WE WILL BE HERE CHRISTMAS-- IT IS A DAY LIKE THE REST--- AND DOGS WILL NEED COOKIES AND CLEANING PER USUAL SO IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER PLANS.. COME HERE-- I BET WE HAVE FOOD --I AM TOLD THERE WAS AN OMAHA STEAK DELIVERY THAT WENT STRAIGHT TO THE WALKIN FREEZER ... SO WE SHOULD NOT STARVE...

Fact #2-- the brazill nut was like knawing away at a piece of plywood for about 20 minutes--- they are large and of a "sturdy" consistancy... but i did that.

i am nearly back to fighting stregnth. 5 pounds lighter...

i am not sure it was worth it-- but 5 pounds is 5 pounds

now if i can just stay away from the chocolate...

but i am hungry - already thinking of the lamb chops they did not eat for breakfast yesterday...

people send amazing things... as you all know... however yesterday i got 2 items to help with insomnia--- and for some reason i slept 7 hours---unheard of... could be 1/2 sick still, or 5 pounds lighter-- or maybe it was the brazil nuts or the new brand of melatonin-- i have tried meolatonin before-- so maybe it was the brazil nuts.

somehow i think the concept came from britain... whatever--- i am now on the nuts... ( research results to be reported at a later date)

it would be logical to turn to the medical report re nuts.....---

i.e. bruce's problem seems to be slightly smaller as of last night. because arron was here overnight- and he is unfamiliaar with dogs in general, we brought bentley and mariah in the house so that the 2 recovering dogs could have access to the back deck and not have to be walked... the rest of this bunch could then be let out the front door- and eventually they would be back.

sarge with his very invasive surgery to find the undescended one...is to be hand walked only- i was shocked to see his scar-- about 6 inches all the way along his plumbing device.

it does not seem to bother him as he plays wiht kiara.

bruce is an odd dog--- extremely sensitive to noises-- it is better if each dog spends some time in th e house so we can discover the strangeness of eachh one. bruce was terrified of the noise of the crackling fireplace-- and also the noise the food made as it tumbled into the yuppy puppy- it took me hours for him to get near the yuppy-- and even now he is not sure-- but hungry...

sarge has the nose pushing down pat--- and kiara is close-- bruce has a ways to go...

but bruce loves steve-- in a santa's outfit or not... sarge won't go near him and just barks at him from a distance.

barking--- last night's mail call-- steve played that "jingle bells" christmas music with dogs barking in rhythm-- and chaos joined-- many times 3 barks in time... it was spectacular....

Good morning Carlene (as good as it can be with tummy problems),
Just an update with Hey Dawg and me.
Since having a small stroke in August, I have been fearful about being away from home. On Friday, I had a doctor's appointment with my cardiologist and ventured out with Hey Dawg at my side. We have done other outings and he is really a prince. Jerry was with us and stayed in the waiting room with Hey while I had an EKG.My doctor was running late, so I went back to the waiting room. Hey thought we were done and was confused when I left him again to meet with my doctor. Jerry said he maintained a close watch on the door where I had left. Many people approached and had a nice meet and greet and a lesson in service dogs and their protocol. After a two hour wait, we were on our way home. Thanks to Hey I am feeling more confident in my ability to leave home.

"Lydia and I had a little run in this morning with a "therapy dog" at the grocery store..Apparently we were ahead of this person with the dog, I never seen it..All of a sudden I hear all this barking..(NOT from My Girl of course) from this "therapy dog"..

All I seen was the tail end of the dog..going down another isle..I never seen the person..When I went to the check out (They know me well) The manager said, "OMG I thought something had happened to you when I heard the barking"..She said I don't know what she's trained to do for you and I thought something happened..but then I seen the women with the other service dog run out of the store with her dog"..
I said THAT is what you call service dog fraud..She said what..she said it had a vest on..I said the vests can be bought on line..she said it said "Therapy dog" on the vest..I explained to her they do not have the same access as a "service dog"..She said, "I didn't KNOW THAT"..
I said, SHE obviously DID because she exited the store in a hurry didn't she..she said Yes, she left with the dog..I said that was probably a case of buying a vest for "fluffy" just so you can bring them in the stores..a "service dog" would not bark while their working...
I said Lydia just looked at the dog, and turned back around as though nothing happened..
I had a customer ask me right after that happened if "we were working together" I said NO, that is what you call service dog fraud..and we had a conversation about that as well..But it was nice that she got to see the difference between the two for herself..
She just makes me so proud.. 　 She is doing so well in the stores ,appts.., her walks..
This morning I was "trying" to teach her to give me a high 5...She "high fived me" 3 times in a row..I told her what a good girl she is..I turned my head away from her to look at something and as I was turning my head back she gave me a high 5 to the face 　 LOL..
Stupid is as stupid does..LOL..I need to trim those nails again..
