 july 26 2022

Who says the banks don't make mistakes.. we currently have a slightly screwed up deal where.... I wrote checks to benefit service dog project and service dog project usually just repaid me which it did this time... but somehow the check never made it from lynn's desk in a purple envelope to my bank account in TD Bank... could be under the seat of some car or in somebody’s  laundry or heaven knows where the teller  might have put it under her coffee cup.. Doesn't matter that's not the mistake part....  so Lynn very simply wrote me another check for the same amount... I quickly deposited it.. as Lynn was on the phone stopping payment on the first check which we did not know the location there of ----all that made a lot of sense--- until someone at the bank got the stop-payment order and noticed that the check now coming through was for the same amount and they didn't check the check number so they just reversed that whole process and took the money out of my account and put it back in service dog project...   so after all that we're back where we started from.. I think my lesson of the day is---if going to replace a check use the last three digits to vary the amount so that somebody doesn't  confused the coming and going.

Now about using the last three digits... I personally save those for the date... particularly those repetitive payments which can get all screwed up  like. an automatic payment which I really don't approve of.. or to be correct....   of which I really don't approve...:)

like today – paying the trash guy $185.00 monthly... would be. $187.26. and that extra few $$ could be straightened out  later.. in the meantime you may have saved many $$ of time trying to figure out which payment or transfer was done when.

It is kind of like those pennies in an ashtray at the checkout where you buy your cigarettes.. I was soooooo shocked 40 years ago when those ash trays began to appear when I was delivering magazines.... little did I know that 40 years later they're thinking of dispensing with a dollar bill about the same reason

I remember the vending machine which sold cigarettes with 2 pennies wrapped up in the cellophane with the  pack of cigarettes.  and 5 gallons for a dollar.

who would have thought..  well a friend just came back from Sweden or was it Finland at any rate gas there is $12 a gallon... insane ? yeah

almost as insane. as Donna leaving for London this morning... where last I saw a photo of the London airport there was a pile of lost luggage which would fill our arena to about 3 feet..  and the line to the ticket counter was doubled over and about 200 feet long..... one of the people standing there said the expected wait  was 14 hours..  I wasn't sure whether that was the line or the time on the tarmac..   I did see several people lying on the floor..  but Donna wanted to go and see her daughter...   if that doesn't define the strength of motherhood I don't know what does.
