never did i think 50 years ago as i stood aT THE BACK END OF SOME 1000 POUND HORSE.. FACED WITH TEH PROBL;EM OF DISPENSING A SMALL QUANTITY OF FLUID IN A VERY NARROW ORIFICE IN THE HORSE, THAT I HELD IN MY HAND TEH PERFECT SOLUTION TO STARTING A FIRE OR ENERGE\ATING ONE.

Once I HAD rememberED the name of it ----a dose syringe it was easy to find at the big DEE horse equipment supply place..--- Stainless steel with three finger holes it was exactly as I had remembered .. now there's no way back 50 years ago I would think I must remember this tool if I ever have to dispense some kerosene at the back of a fireplace .. however now faced with trying to dispense a small quantity of fluids in a pretty inaccessible place ...my mind did wander back to that instrument ... buD and I tried it last night --he's pretty observant I can spot problems great frequency .. and he agreed it was a pretty perfect solution ..
This horse enema device did cost $40 ... well I'm told that women often pay $40 for a haircut .. and since I had already caused my hair to be shortened with a pair of surgical scissors ---I figured I'd have more fun with the doe syringe then a fancy haircut ...
The concept of diesel versus kerosene got Bud worrying again about why we don't put keroscene in the tractors when we probably have between the four buildings 1000 gallons oF kerosene ....Somewhere he read that characene needs to have some sort of oil additive to make it more slippery if you're going to use it in a diesel engine ... becausw there is some slight friction component the characene that there is not in diesel ..
I have a problem with this slight friction element wearing down anything at the age of 83 .. I know that there are many of you out there in daily doggy land who know all sorts of things ... so if anybody has any real feelings about diesel versus characene please let me know because that 1000 gallons the kerosene that was sitting there for years .. But did say he used it for the bullet heater but he's afraid to use it in the tractors .. certainly if anyway it would make the tractor less reliable that would be a problem ..we are hugely dependent on those two tractors one way or another .
Moving on with the off label use of practically everything I own .... I saw on television someone handing one piece of paper two and an unending line of people ... and they just whipped paper things off the pile without any problem ...which was remarkable becausw the person was wearing a mask .. and how do you get one piece of paper reliablity off a pile of papers without spitting on your finger .. this mask wearing episode certainly prohibits spitting on your finger .. this is another problem that I have at times and dealing with paperwork ... but that person on TV had on rubber gloves and I was all set to get the brilliant idea of using rubber gloves whenever you have to handle it abundance of paperwork ...then I realized somebody's already invented that with the funny little rubber finger things .. but that guy was doing fine with rubber gloves ..
now with regard to rat traps and rubber gloves ...I think there's a learning experience there at least for some of our volunteers ..my process for setting rat traps .. is to be exceedingly careful with the Cup full of peanut butter that stays in my rattrap collection box because in my opinion you don't want to get the smell a peanut butter anywhere on the rat trap aside from the little trigger thing .. which I do care very carefully with a nail .as I explained this 2 A teenager .. the teenager immediately said well just use rubber gloves ... thus illustrating why teenagers need more experience in the real world because that kid never realized that you just get the peanut butter on the rubber glove and then put it on the rat trap .. they their thought process had only got as far as rubber gloves keep your hands clean and they missed the part about whether it's on your hands or the rubber gloves you didn't want to smear THE SMELL OF the peanut butter anywhere besides on the trigger ...clean hands had nothing to do with the entire process...
Judy hadn't realized that she had to place an order with me for the already set rat traps ..for the barn and I'm told there's a virtual community down there .. so I will do five traps this morning .. we've done very well here in the house and I'm told we even got 2 rats with one trap which has to be some kind of record ..
I am also told that next week we will have a 60 degree weather . so hopefully some of these critters will go back in the Woods and we should be all set till next fall ...
That rumor of 60 degree weather next week seems to be a generic prediction of the weather ----- but mark has predicted there's going to be a huge storm on March 17th----- seeing as he is and ex Coast Guard person he may be Privy to some kind of information about a storm off the coast of Africa at this moment which will hit New England on the 17th of March --hopefully it'll be rain..and not a Blizzard .
Speaking of blizzards reminds me that I have a kindred soul somewhere in Salem MA who with the last Blizzard started bottling snow and offering it for sale and he sold quite a bit of it .. very akin to our puppy breath project ..I can remember kidding him about the fact but I got $5 from someone who needed a refill on the vial of puppy breath .. and since we have hopefully have a litter coming we must once again set up our sign which says "the puppy breath manufacturing company .".. I still have a lot of HUNDREDS OF vials all carefully stripped CLEANED. and boiled by Annie may she rest in peace up there at the Rainbow Bridge .
With all this concern about vaccinations I thought it would be fun to send two vials to a television celebrity for them to have some fun with on air and it wouldn't hurt our publicity either but I don't know how to send them
It is such a ridiculous concept that it just might be a huge success
so to gamble on a huge success while risking a minor failure leaves me little choice but to try .
