CESAR  SALAD  !  NOW THAT I AM SHOTTED WITH 2 WEEKS BEHIND ME.... I CAN DREAM....

I REMEMBER THE GOOD OLD DAYS WHEN RALPH.... TEH OWNER OF A LOVELY RESTAURANT IN ROWLEY, WOULD APPEAR AT TEH TABLE WITH A HUGE WOODEN BOWL.. DRIBBE;LE   IN A SMALL QUANTITY OF OLIVE OIL ,, THEN MASH A FEW GARLIC CLOVES IN THE BOTTOM BEFORE CRACKING A RAW EGG IN THE MIX , SQUEEZING A FULL LEMON IN....AND WHIPPING AT IT FOR A FEW MINUTES  WHILE MAKING PLEASENT CONVERSATION.. IN WOULD GO A NET  OF WASHED ROUMAINE LETTICE-- ONLY TH E  "LOWER MIDDLE"  PARTS OF THE  STALK. ADD  A HEFTY GLOB OF PARMESAN CHEESE.. AND ALL HE HAD TO SAY WAS "? ANCHOVIES?" FOR THE BEST CAESAR SALAD ANYWHERE..  NO CONTAMINATION OF MUSTARD  OR STEAK SAUCE ...

I USED  COOK... WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT;......AND. MAKE THAT SALAD  32  TIMES A WEEK- WELL IT SEAMED LIKE THAT... WITH A BLENDER-- THAT WAS BEFORE PEOPLE GOT NERVOUS ABOUT TEH RAW EGG.... AND BY THEN I HAD MOVED HERE- AND PUT TEH KITCHEN STOVE DOWN ON TEH CURB AS AN UNNECESSARY COMPLICATION  IN MY KITCHEN/.-- I STILL HAD TEH WOOD STOVE IF THE GOING GOT ROUGH....

But now having been  COV cooped up for such a long time I began to have dreams of Caesar salad---- other people may dream of going on ocean cruises---   not me you won't get me floating around the ocean on a bunch of hardware----  but I wanted to make a Caesar salad so I had to wait until even with a mask I dared go to the store which I did one morning-------- the problem is by the time I get everything else done and go to the store and back again with the makings of a Caesar salad. it  IS nap time and I'm too tired to do anything about it .. so all of that sits on the kitchen counter this morning and as soon as I get the daily doggy finished I intend to go make a Caesar salad for breakfast    why not .

I have these gastronomical fantasies .. I'm already one project behind because I do have the makings of.  NANN. the very simple INDIAN  yeast bread would you then just sort of fry a piece I've never made that before but the concept seems interesting , not complicated and different  THEN  eating leftover Chinese food for breakfast ..

the MAKINGS  of the NANN project ---namely fleischmann's yeast flower oil tiny bit of yogurt and maybe an egg I forgot but those are all refrigerated in preparation for tackling theNANN  project I better do the Caesar salad first

in spite of our chef for seniors who will cook almost anything at his home and deliver it to us .. There are a few things I do miss    one is  boiled onions with velveeta cheese ..  what I'm used to I the one inch size onions boiled bend put in a pan blobs of velveeta ... every time we request that of the chef he does the half inch size onions and somehow it's just not the same  even if he does take the fresh ones and peel them ..

for those of you  who might not know how to peel 1/2 inch size onion you can plunk it in hot water. for ffor just a few seconds and then just squeeze out the onion whereas the one inch size onion you've gotta peel the hard way

This chefs for seniors is some sort of franchise out of maybe Iowa and we are quite happy with it he has a huge menu to choose from or we can ask him to cook anything ...  He charges a set fee to cook these twelve meals and the grocery bills is added to his fee .. so there's never any skimping of anything if we happen to want to as whatever we pick has nothing to do with his fee---  he did a wonderful Saint Patrick's Day boiled dinner which I'd never had before anyway ... continuing on If on Monday and Thursday we pick three items , he will shop for them on Friday and Tuesday at 6:00 AM then prepare them in the mornings and deliver them to us around 1:00 o'clock .. there will be 12 really double meals which landed our refrigerator to be picked out by the volunteers and staff who have refrigerator privileges ..  then on Tuesday and Friday morning dama we'll split those double bills into individual containers and put them down in the T TENT for all to eat for either lunch or supper ..these are all dated unrotated with great care and if there are any left on Tuesday or Friday that goes to the chickens .it's a rare situation that there are any left it's very good food . we are very careful to include one of the three dishes vegetarian style with either fish  or no meat at all . It turns out to be very economical for the 24 meals .. and it's a big help particularly too many of our volunteers as it saves the whole process of shopping and cooking or calling for pizza how much pizza can you live on a lot ..

That concept of one person making a business of shopping and preparing meals is really a very interesting and useful idea although I much prefer to be on the buying end of that one ..The first time we ordered food from him he did appear in our kitchen with a rolling toolbox of all his cooking utensils and incidentals including a white coat which was very impressive will have uh coped with being surrounded with great Danes while he's trying to cook we decided maybe it would be better if he cooked at home and just bought the food but at any minute if anything was happening we could probably request him to appear in the white coat again ..

The reason for my nocturnal fascination with food is certainly caused by all these people trying to sell frying pans or little ovens the last night after the Colorado shooting there was an extraordinary number of interviews of people who were going to do something about it sometime so I thought about it old alternately with the Caesar salad it is very possible for any government to tax the fun out of everything . that's not critical the government does need money to run and I do like to depend on them for things like freshwater but I would certainly redo the tax system ..

that concept started with my concern that all the damage DONE BY CARS  carrying one person IN  individual cars .. I remember that when gasoline was $5 a gallon a few years ago that made 2 3 OR 4 people ridE  in one car so I started wondering if you could change behavior with taxations .. certainly in Massachusetts if you buy a car you cannot get behind the wheel until you have paid a significant sales tax and then an excise tax ....

connected to that thought was the fact that 100 years ago before  personal computers I bought one of the very first RadioShack computers it was a cute little thing with an adding machine type tape and I started keeping my magazine returns on it -----my point here is that I got a tax bill from the town the real estate bills I get two of them because there's two lots here PLUS  a bill for $26 and I called him up said what was the $26 for and that was for. -- personal PROPERTY ---- which they said was  the damn computer .. that was maybe 1980 .. and even to this day I get 2 real estate bills and a bill for $26 ..

since we can't seem to outlaw guns of war why can't we allow THE  guns and tax  THEM big time------ for instance tax them $100 per bullet that the gun would produce in five minutes---   you have a lot of guns which would be one or $200 to register but boy would we make money on these rapid fire things that were bAsically meant for soldiers  WHO really couldn't shoot very well in the first place .and if you didn't pay your tax on THE FOOL THING...It could be removed for lack of paying taxes .

MY other concept there is if we CAN  implant a piece of rice on a turtle the track where it goes then these rapid fire things should also have a similar piece of rICE attached to it somewhere   RFID’S

also connected to that thought was wondering if the voting on what to do about GUNS WAS anonymous how would they all all these  CONGRESS. people vote –  ONE slip of paper each- NO  NAME...-- thrown in a bucket --that is about as far out as my idea of making these Democrats and Republicans all sit at alternate tables so they wouldn't know IF  they were all supposed to stand up or sit down

it will never happen
