OK... SIZZLE LOVES TO RIDE IN THE CAR. ---- just as many dogs do . they like to go someplace see things... most will jump in the car without any problem and in the case of sizzle very often she'll stay in the car and not jump out when I open the door basically asking me if she can stay there------ at which point I can either insist that she get out and she will or I just leave the door open and she stays in there and gets out when she wants to------ her conversation with me is really quite clear and I always thought she is a dog... dogs like car rides.....
---
Fast forward to all these puppies that we are training to get in the car---- most are by now doing very well but there is 1 of the older pups --- piggy--- who we had placed with the recipient who had the complicated problem with piggy of not coming when he was called ---- so much so that he got returned to us as nearly impossible to deal with----- he lands on our doorstep having acquired the label of 'bad dog" ---he has a terrible recall in other words he just doesn't come when he's called----
he is 1 beautiful dog---- he's also very huge and so we had placed him with a man who had a job which involved driving around in his car all day so we kind of figured all that would be a good idea certainly wouldn't have to leave him home in any way which is a terrible thing to do to a service dog the man even bought a car ,one of those SUV's so we have a little more room and then as life went on with him Piggy wouldn't come when he was called and get in the car so everybody decided he was just misbehaving and we should use electric collar on him teach him his lesson so he would do as he was told ------that's the short way out so he arrives here and people will NOT let him loose to run too much in the big fields because he doesn't come when he's called ----and all of a sudden that dog is on a downward "bad dog" spiral and he is a nice dog nice personality great with kids great in harness is 1 hang up as he does not come when he's called .. so as I sat there thinking about it and watching him in the small turn out which is honeymoon Hill ----which is also very icy right now you know------ he's standing up at the fence talking to everybody who comes down the driveway and wanting somebody to talk to him and the trainers in general are mad at him 'cause he doesn't come when he's called --- danm dog—stupid dog...
and that caused me to think specially since I didn't have anything else to do but sit in my car and think the too cold to be out there----- I realized ---- he has what I don't like tto see in a dog and that's frustration behind a wall ----he just wanted to get outside please let me out of that fence ------so I decided to let him out of the fence and he ran and he ran and he ran into the barn out of the barn up to the house back and forth and he didn't even hesitate when I I said his name he didn't even pause for a second -----I had absolutely no control over the dog as he ran around he eventually got thirsty and began to look at a bucket which was empty and I realized I had a chance here to maybe get his attention----- so I filled the bucket with water – nice fresh water--- I let him listen to that noise and I called him he came right over to the bucket and drank nearly the whole bucket and then I realized he's not refusing to come when he's called becausw he’s being bad , he's not coming because he thinks we're going to put him in somewhere and then he's not going to be able to run and then I realized that that lovely new car the guy had bought was very nice as far as the guy was concerned but as far as piggie was concerned it was a very confining crate that he was supposed to stay in at least eight hours a day... could not even stand up. he is BIG..... .......I I'm 99% sure that that's the problem with this dog ...... because I let him run for a couple hours while just the regular things happened around the yard I was extremely careful when cars went through the gate because if he ever got out we never real problem and he ran and ran and he will not come to me when I called him-------- so eventually I put his dinner inside the gate at honeymoon Hill and shut the gate so now he's on the outside and the foods are the inside and he's hungry ------so after a little bit of that I eventually went to the gate and called him and he came right over to me and I let him in to eat the food . I left the gate open because I didn't want him to think I was trapping him --- not very much later Lynn came along -- she was going into the laundry building through the door and invited him to go in with her and he went---- so he is now loose in the laundry which is where all the sofas are------ hopefully he doesn't eat them overnight -- I would like to just play with him and let it out loose before breakfast is served so that maybe I could call him to eat his breakfast in the T tent without him being trapped which is the way I think he looks at being called ..
I had this happened once before at least once before with that rescue dog that I picked up in Haverhill and carried home in heat with a stud dog ----her name at that point was Katie and if you said Katie come she would take off and run because she'd been kept on a chain in a yard and hadn't had any exercise and life was not very good etc-------so around our place I changed her name to rose -----second hand rose------ and I could say rose come and she would run to me and if I said Katie come. she goes the other way-------- so I got taught that concept early in the game and I think that's what's happening with this dog so his name is no longer piggy it's MAC. and i aand I really don't want anyone calling him for any reason right at the moment because I want to try and tell him but when I say Mac come I mean that he should come to me and he's not going to get locked in anywhere .. he's a wonderful dog and if we can just change change this behavior he'll be perfect for somebody if he remains a problem would be perfect for somebody who likes to run around a lot or or a policeman standing on a corner all day long whatever but he cannot be in a situation always gotta get locked in anywhere. ---which is the way he saw the car..... granted it was a lovely car but not by his standards ----so hopefully we'll get that fixed but it's going to take awhile in the meantime I have to find something for him to do I think he'd be a good nursing home dog and things too is very friendly if you could just catch him
so that's the lesson for the day and io will be out there with a can of food and a spoon to try and change his mind... make that a CASE OF CANNED FOOD.

THE LAST 2 DOGGIE DAILY'S HAVE HAD A SUPPOSE TO HAVE A PICTURE IN
THEM BUT I CANNOT SEE OR OPEN PICTURE. CRAZY COMPUTERS.
I LOVE THE DOGGIE DAILY AND READ IT EVERYDAY.
Good morning Carlene,
Hope all is well with you and that Sizzle is feeling better!
Just a quick note to share that Seagram is doing well and is an amazing partner in so many ways. We continue to enjoy walks as much as we can, though yesterday was so windy that we preferred to stay in the shelter of the yard. Seagram had a great time rolling in the grass after we returned home from an errand, and she enjoyed soaking up the sun.
I went for an MRI last week. Although we do not go out for many appointments right now, she knows the routine so well that she laid down on her fluffy quickly — even before I had the chance to fully smooth it out nicely for her. So much for any concerns that I had about her forgetting some of the wonderful knowledge she acquired before we were matched!
While Seagram absolutely adores zoomies in the snow, she has been thrilled with the brief bit of early warm weather. Some days she is so happy to play with my husband that it seems like she is hopping. I managed to capture her unabashed joy as she ran through her yard a couple days ago. This quick sequence of three shots are my favorite action pictures of her ever! I think that *all four* paws might be off the ground in one picture — thus living up to her nickname of Super Seagram!! And of course her ears are up...it is almost as though she is so happy that she is flying
We wanted to share the smiles. She makes me smile so much and is such an incredible gift. And we want to pass this on so that you know she is doing well and to make you smile, too.
(Maybe now that you can send pictures with the DD, this is worth sharing?)
