in the next house that I build I'm going to put a small washer and dryer 18 inches off the floor so I can reach into it easily…plus … itt will be in the bedroom instead of a Bureau because you get undressed in front of the washer and then dressed in front of the the dryer and really all the rest of furniture is not quite necessary----- specially when you basically wear a uniform every day---- -- for awhile I bought one “sunblock” shirt a year .. and added the dogfest shirt to my wardrobe…
Unfortunately because of my short term memory I keep buying the same color shirts ----I have 4 teal and two yellow .. at least I am consistant !
With blue jeans is basically what I wear…. it's a uniform solves a lot of problems --no decisions .
now about the chickens
The comedy team of Cindy and Linda is very popular at the close of Mail call every day…
along with putting together inflating dog beds their speciality was yesterday chicken chasing.
they really had it down to a science and it was very funny to watch. all went very well until they got two roasters in the coop together… And it got a bit lively and I had to go remove one of those Roosters. I was hoping nobody would get upset about the fact that the way to catch a rooster…… which, mind you , is dangerous with a great long spikes on their feet… you grab one leg and hold it upside down ….. it may squawk a little but it's doesn't get hurt. I put it in a crate for overnight and I will go this morning and do something else with it ---I don't know what . grace was supposed to find him a home … t wo of these great big Roosters is not a good thing to have in the same pen …. Also the baby chickens that we bought as all females---- they missed one … it is grown up to be a small rooster which I imagined it's going to be the same problem as it gets mature
you don't need any Roosters anyway --they'll lay edible eggs without them they'll lay edible eggs with them--- not a lot of difference --- I cannot explain How that process takes place with things like eggshell and how the eggs are formed in the hens to begin with----- all I know is you don't need a rooster and many of them are dangerous
I remember ------when the kids were young ---I'm talking 4-5-6 years old we had a nasty rooster in the barn It would chase kids if he caught them it would have scratched them up a bit-- but the kids learned to stay away from the roaster and to respect his territory---- janine’s book Dogs Donkeys and Circus performers (which is on sale at Amazon) I think she talks about the nasty rooster chasing the kids around . I didn't see anything wrong with that . It never occurred to Me that the kids in this 4 -H club would have parents that would Sue Me if their kids got scratched up … the situation is different now… there are people who would love to have kids involved in learning experioences of all kinds… But the people who can provide those experiences live in fear of the legal problems that could develop … so maybe the children's parents haven't changed, but the legal system has .
I can remember teaching a neighborhood kid to ride my bicycle because she didn't have one . she fell off a couple times but she learned and was thrilled to be able to do that .
now I'm not sure I would be so quick to offer to teach her . it's a pity .
