WE FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT BUT LOST THE BATTLE. CINCO DID NOT SURVIVE- SHE SLEPT AWAY. ANNIE, AT THE RAINBOW BRIDGE, MUST HAVE FOUND SOME KID WHO NEEDED A NICE PUPPY. ANNIE WAS ONE OF OUR SUPER VOLUNTEERS WHO LEFT US A YEAR AGO TO MANAGE THEI RAINBOW BRIDGE.... HOW DO I KNOW SHE IS STILL THERE? HER CAR IS STILL IN OUR PARKING LOT.
I SEE FROM COMMENTS THAT WCC LOST 2 PUPS LAST NIGHT TOO... IT HAPPENS... YOU HAVE ONLY TO SEE THAT BIFURCATED Y SHAPPED UTERUS TO WONDER HOW ANY GET OUT AT ALL.. WHEN I PICKED HER UP ABOUT 4 IN TEH AFTERNOON, SHE HAD A CERTAIN FEEL ABOUT HER THAT A DEEPER SLEEP WAS NOT FAR AWAY.
I CANNOT IMAGINE TURNING OFF THE CAMERA BECAUSE SOMEONE DOES NOT WANT TO WATCH,??? USE THE OFF BUTTON ON YOUR END. WHATEVER HAPPENS HAPPENS AROUND HERE. SO STOP THE SLANDEROUS COMMENTS.... I AM SO HARD HEADED YOUR REMARKS WON'T MAKE A BIT OF DIFFERENCE. I JUST HATE TO BOTHER COURTNEY FROM EXPLORE WHO HAS TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE JUST LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO SHOOT ON THE INTERNET.
SO NOW.
STILL INFIGHTING MODE.... LET ME THANK TEH DOZENS OF CAMERA PEOPLE WHO TRIED TO STAY REEALISTIC YET POSITIVE AND ANSWER THE KIND OF QUESTIONS THAT ARE BOUND TO COME UP . MOSTLY TEH "IF I's" and " YOU SHOULDA's"
#1. you should have euthanized her at birth. WHY? SO PEOPLE DON'T HAVE TO WATCH WHAT EVER HAPPENS? OR ? FOR OUR CONVENIENCE?? AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN.
I TOTALLY BELIEVE IN EUTHANIZATION FOR BOTH ANIMALS AND HUMANS, WHEN NECESSARY. CINCO DID NOT APPEAR TO BE AT ALL UNCOMFORTABLE.. JUST INCREASINGLY SLEEPY, WITH MINIMAL ABILITY TO SUCKLE. WE HAD TO GIVE HER A CHANCE TO "TURN AROUND" .
#2. you should have taken her to the vet and had them put a tube in her and feed her. that has to have come from TV's Dr. Pol- who tubed a calf with great results. IT WAS MY OPINION THAT THIS LESS THAN 1 POUND PUP, NOT YET 2 DAYS OLD DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH LIFE AND STAMINA TO EVEN MAKE THE TRIP TO THE CAR... LET ALONE SOMEONE TRYING TO SHOVE A TUBE DOWN HER THROAT.
.#3. I NOW KNOW WHERE ALL THE CLEFT PALLET SUGGESTIONS CAME FROM.. IF WWC HAD A PUP WHO DIED WITH CLEFT YESTERDAY... A CLEFT PALLET WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURFED TO ME- BUT I INVESTIGATED HER MOUTH AND SAW NOTHING UNUSUAL THE ENTIRE PUP WAS JUST TOO "FLACID"
THOSE WERE TH MAIN COMPLAINTS... THE BASIC PROBLEM WAS.... . CINCO HAD SOME MASSIVE PROBLEM SOMEWHERE AT BIRTH.. I AM NOT ABOUT TO SPEND TIME ,ENERGY, OR MONEY ON TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT. .... IT HAPPENS . .... WE STILL HAVE 18 SEEM LIKE PERFECT PUPS... BUT I WILL NOT RELAX TIL THEY GO DOWN TEH DRIVEWAY AS SOMEBODY'S SERVICE DOG. MY NERVES DO TAKE A BATTERING. ALL KINDS OF THINGS ARE POSSIBLE...( EVEN SUCCESS !!!)

HERE IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT ANGLE TO ADI WHO... I HAVE TO ADMIT, FIGHT THE BIG BATTLES TOO...(.LIKE CONGRESS)
Dear Carlene,
I hope this email makes the DD..
Dear DD Readers, SDP Supporters, and SDP Critics,
As a young 23 year old, I joined the Navy and served during Desert Storm, expecting to serve my Country as so many in my family have for generations....a member of my family has served during every war since the Revolutionary War. I didn’t really expect anything back from my Country, even when I was medically discharged 8 years later with a broken body and brain damage.
There isn’t much our Country does for veterans (the average disability payment is $18,000 per year...and we wonder why so many homeless vets), but in 2017, the PAWs act was passed, which provided Congressional funding for health insurance for veteran’s service dogs. The caveat though, was that the dog had to have been trained at an ADI facility and must maintain its certification. For a veteran on an income of $18,000 per year, this insurance for their dog is vital, but the wait list to get a dog from an ADI facility averages 4 years, because so many wounded veterans are coming back from Iraq and other current war zones.
I am writing this, because lately, I have observed criticism of Carlene White and the way SDP is run on various public forums. There have even been calls to start a campaign to have SDP’s ADI accreditation revoked. So, let’s say the critics are successful, what happens then? Well, SDP will continue because Carlene had a vision years ago to provide service dogs to those in need and his dedicated her life, resources and home to make that happen. Those who care about the mission will continue to support it. Deserving people who need service dogs will receive them. So who gets hurt with the negativity? The very veterans that are at the core of SDP’s mission...without ADI accreditation, our dogs do not receive health insurance. I have heard many say that ADI accreditation is not necessary under ADA law, so why does SDP need it - to which I have heard Carlene say, “for the veterans!” Carlene and Linda have gone through the hell of the accreditation and associated paperwork drills, simply, so that veterans can receive this one small benefit from our country.
So why does SDP ADI accreditation matter? Well, I can tell you as a veteran teamed with SDP service dog Riz, it matters a lot. Having the peace of mind of knowing I don’t have to make tough financial choices with her health because SDP maintains ADI accreditation, means a lot. So the next time those of you who support SDP sacrifice to buy a brick, know I appreciate it...and the next time those of you who like to criticize stay silent instead, I appreciate it. And a huge thank you to Carlene, Linda, the many volunteers, and supporters who have helped so many of us veterans WALK ON!
Heidi and Riz
