the portable shatupon society- will go down the driveway about 10 today for a shatting to benefit altzheimers ( and sdp) this morning... i am a bit set back because i could not locate john geibel yesterday--- he is a neighbor who's son worked with the early bunch of pups....he is usualluy "up" fpr wierd projects--- tackled putting an agri tarp on the 75 x 40 foot barn when no one else would-- it held for 3 years til i could afford a proper roof... he is extremely capable ex law enforcement and has a great sense of humor-- i figured he would get dressed in the chicken outfit for this job.... as he ocassionaly drives teh bus for the "retirement home". since i am already the judge in black robe and white mop wig... i need a chicken-- preferably about 6' tall.
**
speaking of needing a 6' tall guy --- i was pleased to hear that these newscasting men will be going to the huricane-- there are several who are spectacular in their wet tee shirts.
which reminds me of some woman in scotland who was patting some guy on the shoulder and said " it is not all padding you know--- there is a coat hanger there as well. "
****
as for teh noise report-- last night the nutt house bunch let me know the neighbors got home at 11:20 and tehn a car came 1/2 way upo the driveway- and backed out at 12:10- and teh rest of teh time it was silent.
**
we have moved dogs around to try and accommodate the neighbors--but we can not-- and don't have to-- change any of our safety or training plans--- i did talk with our lawyer who tried to make it simple for me... we are a farm-- with dogs excluded because of puppy mills- and we are a commercial kennel protected by what was the greyhound and sled dog racing industry laws. we are also protected by the camera people-- and LYNNE... teh camera person who-- daily-- did teh wonderful "noise log" for 3 months which i printed out just to have. it would correspond to the video-- how accurate was she???? she notes " it started raining at 1:42am.. " -- that is accurate..
Good morning Carlene,
I found out yesterday that the date for my schedule change has been moved up, so today will be the last noise report. It was my pleasure to do this for you and I have to say that for the number of dogs there at SDP the lack of noise from the dogs is beyond remarkable.
Take care,
Lynne
**
we would love any ideas on how to do a better job for the dogs and the neighbors... if anyone has any ideas come up with them-- there is a sign on the porch-- before you complain , volunteer...
it will upset me if people can come up with ideas we have not already thought of... i think we have put a great deal of thoguth into this project...
like???? music in the barn to muffle sounds outside teh barn... but it has to be classical because of copyright infringements of broadcasting with teh cameras..
life gets complicated.
but our dogs are darn near perfect "life savers"

speaking of that-- scott and dash-- will be here for dogfest. he has a wonderful video " turning a mess into a message " --- he is a speaker to first responders and veterans in ny state.
i don't know how you get the title of speaker-- i can speak on a wide variety of topics .. like severing the umbilical cord in puppies.
there is not a lot of call for that topic tho...
