THE FAMILY THAT HAS MINDY CAME AND PICKED HER UP AND LEFT "PRE-ORGANIED" FROZEN FOOD... WHICH WE LEFT ON THE PORCH --- CHICKEN WRAPPED AROUND CRANBERRY STUFFING ETC... IT IS WONDERFUL... HE ALSO BROUGHT HIS SNOW BLOWER AND WANDERED AROUND WITH THAT--
ALL THE DOGS WERE OUT OF THE BARN LAST NIGHT AS MEGAN ORGANIZED AN EMERGENCY BUNCH OF OVERNIGHTERS
THEY WILL BE GONE FOR THE WEEKEND-- OVERLL PLAN.... PUT A BIG THERMOMETER WHERE EVERYONE CAN SEE IT IN THE KENNEL 10-- THEN IF THE TEMP DROPS BELOW 50 CAMERA PEOPLE COULD CALL-- AND I WOULD HAVE A "EMERGENCY PHONE LIST OF NEARBY PEOPLE WILLING TO COME GET A FEW DOGS-- DIRE EMRGENY TYPE... WHER WE COUDN MOVE 6 OR 7 FRIENDLY DOGS INTO THE GUEST HOUSE WITH A TAINER KIND OF THING..
THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN... SO I AM TOLD... THIS IS NEW ENGLAND... WITH IT'S LOVELY "FALL COLORS" ADN A BlTCH OF A WINTER.
SHORT DOGGIE....THT WENDY CONTINUED TO CALL ME LAST NIGHT LONG AFTER I WAS ASLEEP... I HAD BEEN DIALING THE *57 AND THE Y RECORD THE CALL-- PLUS THEY SAID TO CALL YOUR LOCAL POLICE... SINCE THIS PERSON WAS SUPPOSIDLY NORTH CAROLINA I THOUGHT LOCAL POLICE WOUDL BE USELESS... WRONG....
THEY TOOK WENDY'S NUMBER-- AND TLKED TO ME FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN WENT OFF LINE ... I THINK THEY CHECKED THIS *57 BIT TO BE SURE I WAS FOR REAL... THEN CAME BAK AND SAID THEY WOULD CALL THE NUMBER... AND CALL THE POLICE IN HER TOWN..... AND THE CALLS STOPPED.
WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS DO WHT THE DIRECTIONS TELL YOU TO DO... CALL THE POLICE..-- I WILL SEE THEY GET A BASKET OF LIFE SAVORS AS SOON AS WE THAW OUT.

i am agast at the similarities of george and finn with their tiny partners-- just goes to show you perfect training a ( and picking perfect partners)
she sent a video-- i dunno how to attach it... but i will ask pam to get it on tht web somehow.... it is worth a look -- finn and george are the two happiest service dogs in the world... there is one shot of finn running after eve on a elect chair which lookes exactly kike george running after bella on her bike...

1 year ago TODAY we brought Finn home to Wisconsin from the Service Dog Project in Ipswich MA!
Wow what a journey it’s been! I have to admit the first month or so I was a bit of a nervous nelly! (Which typically isn’t my style). Eve received such an amazing gift of independence, freedom, security, companionship and BIG responsibility! But just as we were told it all came together in the timeline expected and Finn has become just a natural extension of her! He has brought so many new experiences to her life not to mention more mobility, strength and security! Clearly with the way he loves her she too has added much to his life as well. I just LOVE how when he looses track of her after running in the yard for a while or waking up from a nap the first thing he does is locate his girl! I could go on an on but I’ll stop before this ends up to be pages long!
THANK YOU Carlene, the Service Dog project, Megan Kokaras, Steve Girard, all the volunteers & all of their supporters for an amazing 1st year! Looking forward to sharing many more to come!

YOUR COMMENTS IN THE DD ABOUT TALKING TO OUR DANES MADE ME THINK OF A QUICK STORY...
A WEEK OR TWO AGO, I PUT SEAGRAM’S DINNER IN HER RAISED FEEDER AND SHE STARTED EATING AS USUAL. I BEGAN PREPPING OUR DINNER AND TOOK A COUPLE OF STEPS BY THE SINK, WHILE HOLDING ONTO THE COUNTERTOP. SEAGRAM CAME OVER TO ME AND LOOKED UP. I COULD TELL THAT SHE WAS JUST CHECKING ON ME, SO I SAID, “I AM FINE. PLEASE GO BACK TO YOUR DINNER.” AND SHE HAPPILY FINISHED EATING.
MY HUSBAND OBSERVED THIS, AND EVEN THOUGH SEAGRAM HAS BEEN WITH ME FOR WELL OVER A YEAR, HE WAS SOMEHOW SURPRISED BY THE INTERACTION. “IT IS LIKE SHE UNDERSTANDS ENGLISH,” HE SAID...WELL, OF COURSE — AND SHE LISTENS FAR BETTER THAN HE DOES!!
