panic of the day---- pictures of geroge trying to sit on bella's lap when she has so much 'halo' hardware attached to her head.... i quick wrote a note to rachael- i am sure bella can manage george with a piece of thread around his neck i hoope she takes off all that harness and collar etc.. -- bella hardy ever uses the leash anyway... that is why her leash is so short - so when she drops it, it does not get on the floor --- paint Service dog on the side of george with barium if anyone thinks he needs a label... hospitals have barium... i know that !!!

more than a few problems to deala with today... it is only mid january... and we have a few weather related down hill problems already-- the flu being one of them.... pam has it big time--- we need to meet and redesign some proceedures...
the very best day around here is a shatting sunday---- everybody knows what needs doing- and just does it. without any body overseeing much of anything. perfect ! and enjoyable !!
experience has taught us all to adhere to murphy's law...... so next lesson is parkinson's law
Parkinson's law is the adage that "work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion". It is also sometimes applied to the growth of the bureaucratic apparatus in an organization.
(1) "An official wants to multiply subordinates, not rivals" and
(2) "Officials make work for each other." He notes that the number employed in a bureaucracy rose by 5–7% per year "irrespective of any variation in the amount of work (if any) to be done".
Parkinson also proposed a rule about the efficiency of administrative councils. He defined a "coefficient of inefficiency" with the number of members as the main determining variable. This is a semi-humorous attempt to define the size at which a committee or other decision-making body becomes completely inefficient.
parkinson's law-- the book---teh study--- was taken from the British-- it is a super "read" even if a bit technical... the bullets are priceless
Other topics relate to what time to arrive at a cocktail party, how best to select applicants, what is the best age to retire
it was in london... but now perhaps our congress in washington.... the concept of "injelitance": the disastrous rise to authority of individuals with an unusually high combination of incompetence and jealousy expressed in the chemical formula I3J5.
oh how i wish i knew how to send that on twitter to cnn and fox news
*****
before i do, i would have to learn how ... on this keyboard--- to make subscripts-- that woul d kill the next week... but the thought is there.... I3J5 will have to work for now....
**
in the meantime -- i think all staff here must read up on th e perils of parkinson's law-- we have it here and i plan to try and figure out how to undo the tangled webs.. we are sooooo dependent on everyone-- staff and volunteers -- pulling very hard to put out these fantastic dogs....
**
and on top of it... we have ADI assistance dogs international---
if they had their way we would only have papers in every building and not bother with the dogs...
i find it annoying that none of the rules and reguations they keep handing down have nothing
to do with training -- or producing a better trained dog...
***lately*** if anyone complains about anything i am to type it all out and send it to all the board who must
sign off that they are aware of it.-- does this ADI have any idea the bunch of whacko complaints we have daily?
the only complaint we have- it is not the first nor the last-- when we tell someone we don't have the type dog they need...
they don't like it-- and there is not a darn thing we can do about it. the danes are wonderful when they work...
but they are not good at everything.... so we have to say "no"... ADI has made alot of rules about saying "no"
notifying the world...
