i will leave all the poetic jan 1 things for others to say-- today is the day to remind everyone to check/replace batteries on ---smoke..... co2 detectors-- i sound sooo organized... but what we should have done is request those square 9volt batteries as teh perfect christmas gift...
winners of the big brass rings yesterday were bud-- and pam.... bud--- our #1 "NOTICER"----noticed teh hatch to the loft in the icu building got left open and all the heat went up there making table tops 55 degrees... bud does not miss much... thankfully... he immediately went to read the directions ( who else does that??) and tried to raise the temp-- still a questionable chore... and not the night to have it not work correctly.... there aRe only kurranda beds in there- no " sleeping lofts" ---so teh temp six inches off teh concrete floor is no wheres near 55 degrees...I WAS HAVING TROUBLE BIG TIME- i live in fear of alot of things... being cold is high on that list-- and to have 4 dogs l locked in somewhere that is not the most comfortable i can make it... would have kept me up all night-- and possibly going down--- coughing and choking away--- to let the dogs into the 'people " area with the sofa... i would have had to stay there to be sure they didn't all get in a fight- it woujd have been a cold trip.
PAM to the rescue-- and that system where a note is left on the med area of what dog is where every night... we had 2 open kennels in teh main barn-- one being walter's kennel which could easily hold scarlott and mischa high off the floor-plus the one next to it...and then the open kennel up here in the nutt house. all of which have sleeping "lofts" 4 feet off teh floor.
****
this also reminds me-- we never put on the door to the people area of teh icu building....to try and isolate the 2 heat areas... TANNERRRRRRRRRRR... get yourself down here with all your new christmas presents of tools and learn how to install a 4 foot sliding stall door-- we have the hardware... somewhere.----it would be an inside job !! examples of the hardware in use is obviously in the barn... but also it is the same thing that slides that vault door across teh door to th e"sun room/lindas officee area...aren't we nice to offer you all these learning opportunities??? i know bud has an impact wrench- which i think i saw you got from a cp???

nothing like a good arguement to start the new year..... one of our veterans -- with his new dog ?thor? -- was given a terrible time by someone somewhere named kristen-- and i do have her phone number-- i will be calling her tomorrow.... if you leave your windows open about 10:30 tomorrow morning you should be able to hear me without the benefits of a microphone. i feed the need to contribute what i can to her education.
i do not have the addreess of the workplace yet....... but it just might be worth a pink envelope episode.. the word bully comes to mind... and bullying was teh cause of the last pink envelope situation....i.e. how to change the mind of a school principal??.. her quote afterwards still rings in my head "i had no idea"-- well she does now... and maybe another "workplace" bully could learn... i am looking into it.

taking my own advice-- i am spending time noticing more about these pups and what i can do to move everything along better... that involves mostly encouraging grace and laura... who are our super spooners-- they know the dogs-- they "read" the dogs really well at this spoon feeding-- it is such a founcdation ot our whole training process... that to skip any part will just drive megan , steve and oliv nuts in abotu 6 months as they try andturn a bunch of crazy teenage dogs into thoughtful service dogs...---- without moving beyone the warm air of the heater over my head..... i did finaly get all six to sit in front of me for cookies.. even so-- ther was evidence of more personalities than i like to see--- i need to work on their names....they have only begun to figure out "i get a cookie when i stop jumping and get my butt on the floor--- if i just wait, it will happen." this one thing has massive implicatons as they approach adulthood.
to put that in people terms... i think obama was the one who said "the people who overturn police cruisers don't pass laws"

whoopie-- another bunch of new years resoulutions to break ! woowowowooo
