june 6 2017
lordy... i used a wrong word and  caused grief and agrivation..  this internet stuff is dangerous... last night bonnie bergin ( of bergin university of canine studies called)-   i was thrilled to talk with her...  we have a great deal in common--  except she  has worked 1000% harder longer and correcter  than i have... and has a huge training facility  where they put out some fantastic dogs ---   i am afraid to make a joke and call them "almost dogs" ( i.e.... but the are not danes :)  ) for fear that will go viral....

couple days ago in the DD.....i was trying to imply  that maybe they (bergin univ.)were unaware of the wierd training PROCESS   we have with starting spoon feeding and i said "they were unaware of our project...."  WRONG    i meant to say PROCESS..  i have long wanted to expirement with our  concept of training on  a litter or two of the "normal" service dog   labs and goldens-- i even suggested it to purina somewhere along the line...
she even invited me to come out to california    and have a discussion  with her bunch-- which i would dearly love... except ... flying across country is not my favorite occupation..  i did tell her one of her masters candidates had contacted me from australia and we are setting up a skype conversation...  she said her two masters candidates from there were  wonderful--- that may be my goldie moment... to  discuss in depth the training via skype.. with her and let her bring it to bergin... ( i will figure out skype...somehow)

since i only knew bonnie's name  i "went out there"  and looked her up-- only to find in her  xxxxx  who is....?  that the idea for service dogs came from the concept of the use of donkeys in  other countries....BINGO--- FULL CIRCLE  ---- she started thinking  service animals with donkeys.... here i am  without the  courage to write to sheila obriens ( our ADI  accreditating inspector)  and give  a long pitch for mini donkeys as service animals.. with or instead of the mini horse concept...

problem there is donkeys are the butt of many jokes-- not unlike great danes--- the general public- could stand to be more educated about both...
donkeys are not  always stubborn  and danes are not  always goofy-- altho  they often look like it.

so the upcome of the episode is ... i will try and get our training  a bit more organized in my head-- and hopefully this person from australia  could cause a conversation among trainers to consider  some of the things...

bonnie said she couldn't consider  adding danes for another 3 years as she is building a building.... i can certainly relate to that--  after my dealings  with the ipswich building inspector deciding my dog house was a commercial building...
*****
gotta hand it to courtney... she does not miss a thing.

anne finally got the interim report out to cummings- they had a problem uploading our budget info.. --anne had read the exact directions  and was confused about  how to do the report... i had not read hth directions  and was determined to be confused  without going the road "when all else fails read the directions"-- i hate calling people and sounding like i can't read..  i certainly can read teh words... understanding them is a whole new problem...
so she got that off...

we have a wandering illness-- donna is out-- and now linda -- both blaming pam..   or megan...  whatever..
which brings me to  ? immunity...  and c5  "puppy shots"...

i must have a discussion with george.....or anyone with some scientifif background.... if the c 5 shots are repeated at 6 weeks 12 weeks and 16 weeks to be sure that they trigger antibodies--- becaise  if teh mother's colostreum  provided the antibodies to prohibit the vaccine from working... then why is there such a panic about letting the general public  be near puppies before "their shots"
i am sure there is a perfectly logical reason...   but it sounds like  it could be one of those things  which could get going.... " if you use your cell phones in the birthing area a puppy will be stillborn"
george?????

judy just brought in a copy of "IF" by rudyard kippling--- to frame and put on the wall   over the coffee pot-- there are places to put things where people are forced to stand and look around-- the kerig coffee maker is one-- men's urinals are another...
****
mindy--- the mantle female  pup i am trying for the house-- and breeding ... along with sizzle..  i took her out with me yesterdy---the mission was to go buy 6 pieces of electrican conduit pipe  to makd teh new puppy bus into a covered wagon sort...i got distracted as i wentby the lima bean store and ended up buying 5 bags of baby limas instead .
as with donkeys and danes--- so many people have bad vibes about lima beans that  they are hard to find...  now they are being  re-thought of...and put next to the edemamy beans  that they are beginning to appear in  stores.
****

i will try for the pipe again today..
