OUCH ! BOY WERE THEY AN EFFICIENT CLEAN UP CREW....NOW TEH PRESSURE IS REALLY ON GET THOSE PIPES OUT OF THERE.... WE HAD ?20 EMPLOYEES OF CST HERE TO HELP... AND THEY SURE DID...
Hi LINDA/CARLENE
I have just heard about 10 different accounts of how impressed the staff here at CST is with your amazing work at the Service Dog Project - and how much fun they had in the process of helping!
I heard that you guys might be wanting to put together FENCING next week! Is there anything that we can bring with us next week tool wize that would help you? I am sure that we can borrow tools from our facilities shop if that helps. Please keep that in mind!
Thanks again for allowing us to take a peek into what you guys do to help people!
Second question - would you guys be willing to come into CST some lunchtime in the future and give a talk about what you do. I feel that this opportunity has really been an education for those that attended - and that the entire company would love to hear about your great work.
Let me know if you would be interested in that!
Thanks,
Krystyna
LET ME BE PERFECTLY CLEAR............WE WILL BE "REPAIRING" THE ARENA WALLS THAT COLLAPSED (IN 2008? )... THERE IS A STORY...
WHEN I MOVED HERE IN 1979, THERE WAS A TERRIFFIC STEAK HOUSE AT THE CORNER--JACK HACKETT'S LAKESIDE-- ATE THERE MANY TIMES FROM LYNNFIELD.. WISH IT WAS STILL THERE......HOWEVER--
THEY HAD A FIRE AND MUCH OF IT BURNED... EXCEPT FOR ONE CORNER-- WHICH THEY KNOCKED DOWN INTENDING TO REBUILD....
NOW IF HE HAD JUST REBUILT AROUND THAT CORNER AND THEN REPLACED THE CORNER THEY WOULD STILL BE IN BUSINESS..
BUT..... I AM TOLD........ WHEN THEY KNOCKED DOWN TEH CORNER- IT WWAS THEN A CASE OF BUILDING AND NOT REPAIRING... AND THEY LOST THE LIQUIR LICENSE AND THE PERMIT TO BUILD. THEY COUDL HAVE REPAIRED... BLESS THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT....
SO WHEN MY ARENA COLLAPSED IN TEH BLIZZARD-- IT WAS WOODEN--- I HAD THE DEMO COMPANY LEAVE TEH BACK CORNER WITH IT'S POSTS AND GREEN UGLY PAINT... THAT GREEN UGLY PAINTED PLYWOOD IS STILL THERE... AND WE ARE REPLACING WHAT WE HAD IN THE EXACT FOOTPRINT--NO ELECTRICITY OR PLUMBING -- JUST REPLACING THE T-111 PLYWOOD ....A BIT HERE AND THERE.... TO LOOK BETTER, AND PROHIBIT TEH DONKEYS FROM GETTING INTO MY SOMEWHAT EXTENSIVE COLLECTION OF WIRE FENCING AND PIPES...
OH BOY DO I HAVE PIPES....PVC TO IRON -
TO BE SURE TO STAY IN THE EXACT FOOTPRINT, THE FAR CORNER POST AND WALL IS THE ORIGIONAL..I AM SURE A BIG CONTRACTOR WOULD BE ABLE TO SQUARE THE CORNER WITH SOME LASER... HOWEVER...MY LASER ONLY TELLS TEH TEMP LONG DISTANCE... I WILL -- TODAY-- GET OUT THERE WITH MY 3-4-5 TRIANGLE STRING( STRING --THAT DOES NOT STRETCH) AND MAKE RIGHT ANGLES- AND CHECK TO BE SURE THE DIAGIONALS ARE EQUAL...-- THAT SHOULD WORK... IT DID WITH THE 30 X 40 G-TENT. IN MY VAST BUILDING EXPERIENCE, I HAVE FOUND THAT A SIMPLE 1 INCH DIFFERENCE IN TEH DIAGIONALS CAN MYSTERIOUSLY GROW TOA 6 FOOT PROBLEM IN MID AIR--- ROOFLINE PLACE...IF WE EVER PUT ON A ROOF...
SUDDENLY EVERY BIT OF 4 X 8 PLYWOOD DOES NOT FIT ANYWHERE IF YOU ARE WRONG.---- ANYTHING BUT A 90 DEGREE ANGLE IS A BIG PROBLEM IN BUILDING-- ESPECIALLY WHEN I ONLY BUILD IN 48 " LUMPS SO PLYWOOD FITS.
*****
MY PROBLEMS OF TEH DAY IS ALL THOSE PEOPLE ARE COMING BACK NEXT WEEK FOR MORE COMMUNITY TIME AND I NEED TO GET THE CORNERS DONE BY MYSELF FOR THINKING PURPOSES.
I ALSO NEED TO GET TEH POSTS, LUMBER AND PLYWOOD DELIVERED...HERE..... AND TEH HORSE TRAILER IS WITH JANINE SOMEWHERE IN PENNA ---ON IT'S WAY TO PICK UP MORE DONKEYS--
LIFE IS NEVER SIMPLE--- I NEVER GOT THE TRASH TO THE TRANSFER STATION WHILE TANNER WAS HERE... NOW I NEED TO HAVE IT EMPTIED TO GO PICK UP THE POSTS FOR THIS "PEN". ( HENCE TO BE CALLED THE "O-PEN?")
AND...... THE TRASH TRAILER HAS BEEN KNOWN NOT TO DUMP IF TEH LOAD IS TOO HEAVY..- IF IT DOES NOT DUMP IT HAS TO BE UNLOADED BY HAND..... AND I REALLY CAN'T-- OR DON'T WANT TO...
MAYBE SOME YOJNG STRONG HIGH SCHOOLL KID WILL BE ON THE VOLUNTEEER LIST TODAY... IN WHICH CASE WE WILL BE OFF AND RUNNING.... ( I.E. NOT SITTING AROUND STUDYING A CELL PHONE.)
*******
NOW IT IS BACK TO THE MANURE PILE PROBLEM--- I REALLY HAVE TO SUPERVISE TEH POO PICKING OF TEH DONKEY STALL...
WE HAVE THOSE PITCHFORKS WITH TINES ABOUT AN INCH APART-- THOSE ARE FOR PICKING PUCKIES OUT OF THE SHAVINGS, GIVING IT A SHAKE TO LEAVE SHAVING S BEHIND AND JUST PUT THE PUCKIES IN A BASKET.---HAY DROPED OUT OF THE BAGS IS STILL EATABLE LEAVE IT THERE... THEY WILL GET IT. ..AND TEH MANURE PILE WOUL D THEN BE DARK BROWN AND VALUABLE.
CURRENTLY ... WAY OUT BACK WE HAVE A MOUND OF SAVINGS -- I BET 40 FEET WIDE AND 6'DEEP- THAT WILL NEVER BE TOPSOIL REGARDLESS OF THE LIME WE COULD ADD.-- WE MAY USE IT TO COVER THE SECOND PARKING LOT-- THERE IS SO LITTLE MANURE IN IT. AFTER A GOOD RAINSTORM, IT WOULD BE A NICE SMOOTH WOOD SHAVINGS COVERED LOT -- AT $5 A BAG FOR SHAVINGS AND $10 FOR THAT NICE HAY, WE NEED TO RE EVALUATE THE COLOR OF THE PILE-- WHICH I THINK CAN BE SEEN FROM THE DONKEY CAM... NO??
************
SUCH WILL BE THE DAY...
