--i think i finally thought of a dog fest theme.... got to run it "by the board"
the meeting got a lot done-- including a town day in june as sort of a pre dogfest
to include the town people who have recently joined our crazy acres .
remember the good old days of having a people van for trips to the fairgrounds???
does anyone happen to have a retired people mover like this one.. we got alot of use out of it...
the adult dogs are bailey.... and i think thumper is. the black... i don't recognise the merle.....and the litter of all blacks?????

i bet you cp's can figure that out. if i can just get it to print....
speaking of retire anything... hoiw about retired people with extra talents and tijme on their hands...
we have all sorts of interesting jobs to help us get 17 pups ready to help someone get "back on their feet"
like drinking coffee on either sides of the room while calling a puppy first one way for a treat and then back the other for a treat....
doesn't sound like much... but 17 pups?????????if we can split the group and give a pair of people a few pups... it would be easier..
that way they learn their name out of the 17... and also to come when called.....
it is the basis for perfect behavior that being a servce dog demands....
as a matter of fact any volunteering is bound to expose you to all sorts of tricks to help you train your own dog...
back before i startyed this... i thought iu had to take lessons in dog training...
. so i looked into a program offered by another service dog trining outfit. $5000 . but....
the first lecture was about how dogs smell with their noses-- and i really thought i was beyoud that
- so i showed some of my "farm dogs". to some sd trainers... and they said mine were perfect as they were
. which i already knew... farm dogs become perfect out of necessitity...
i remember the 34 dogs i had to have to film loose in the main square of newburyport. with heavy traffic not 20 feet away.....
and i chose a group consisting of all "untrained farm dogs" instead of "obedience trained " dogs.
i also used farm dogs in the several ads we did of "the homeless"
there is a casual behavior that is hard to replicate....
how many. dogs... how many leashes?
