where to start???
along with the red screens on the tv weather channel, some creative clown has a new illustration-- instead of a puffy white cloud with well behaved snowflakes drifting downward, they now have a bunch of white dots blowing madly sideways.
it does not sound promising.
and if bud did hear one of the rafters of the t tent "pop" i would guess we are going to loose that.--- i always wondered if i went back and put enough nails in the thing... we can maybe pull out the golf carts and cover r them with a tarp
but i am not sure we can get out the wonderful oven , refrigerator, or nice table and chairs- all those stainless steel tables might survive...
starting with yesterdays daily doggie, several people seemed to think the entire caboose story was a dream... no.. only the first police part was... the rest about buying one etc was real... it sat where the t tent now is and was our inspiration for puttin up a "wooden" tent.
that started when there were 2 big trees on puppy hill that i worried might come down because we changed the grade ... so i hired ye olde tree cutter ( and his son) .. as the son was cutting the wedge to get the tree to fall correctly into th e parking lot ( and not the barn) i stood with the elderly man and asked him to make a toe mark in the sand where th e top of this 90 foot tree would fall-- he missed by about 4 inches-
minus all the branches and cut into 12' legnths , i realized there was a great quantity of lumber there.. so i found a guy with a portable sawmill- fascinating to watch-- he had a method of handling those heavy pieces of tree- in 2 or 3 days i had a huge pile of lumber-- and- typically-- no specific plans- he had spacers between the rows qand it dried to a valuable pile of useable wood.
by adding things recycled - like george myers old wooden 2x6 white fencing and things like that- i started nailing things together... typically without right angles or level... most noteabley the ridge is aproximately level...--
now as i sit here looking at the snow, i wonder.... all those times i pounded in one nail "to hold it" --- did i ever go back and hammer in more nails? we will find out.
i am resigned-- if it falls, we will have firewood-- and a great opportunity to redesign our "outdoor office".. i have a feeling my insurance does not cover it.
if it falls. i think the beautiful weathervane will be fine-- it being on the top of whatever happens.
i am pretty sure because of the way the roof is constructed, that removing the snow from one side woudl cause it to fall- and getting the snow off the back side could be3 life threatening== so i thinkg we jus see what happens and deal.
2 more significant storms are predicted.. sunday and the following wednesday a warmer rainey mess..heavier...
heck we had a worse mess once before-- with the collapse of the wooden arena.. that cost me $7000 just to dump the wood remains..
hmmmmmm i wonder... that clearspoan building is very nice...... i wonder.....
it would be quick too.... hmmmmm.

Frenzy continues on his path towards excellence.
He went to the Olive Garden for lunch the other day & did very well.
We brought his blanket, to show him where to lay down while we ate, & he settled in nicely.
Naturally, he generated a lot of stares & comments.
Many people mentioned how well behaved he was, in spite of all the confusion going on around him.
Yesterday he went to the local court house in support of our HOA president, who is representing our community vs a nutty neighbor.
Yes, even in "paradise" (Florida, the land of no snow), the nuts abound.
Frenzy is a talker, and although he is quiet most of the time, he chose to give his opinion during the proceedings.
He had many comments & kept the audience awake.
The judge visited him & Jim after the proceedings, & it turned out that she has two Danes, one of whom also "talks".
Hers is a female, & she was interested to find out if Frenzy was also a female.
Hers is a female, & she was interested to find out if Frenzy was also a female.
So, the judge learned that both male & female Danes can talk!
Frenzy is a joy & a delight & we can't thank everyone enough for the wonderful, loving foundation & training he received at SDP.
