I was shocked and amazed last night when Wallace worked with one of the dogs no horses which we had known about maybe six months ago nice great big Gray horse and bought by another family and all of a sudden she stopped standing still so they couldn't get on her so they brought her back here as being relatively useless if they couldn't get on her and Wallace was to fix her.... this is a common problem with horses the horse figures out if you move around they can't get up there and I wondered how Wallace was going to fix it I had visions of tying 1 foot in the air tying a back leg to a nose you know I just had no idea how he's going to do this but he started in with his regular routine of turning the horse loose in the arena and having her circle him and after a few minutes he kind of stepped in front of her a little bit so she stopped and turned around and went the other way and this became a routine which he did for the next 1015 minutes or so and finally he stopped her and he left her standing there and he went and got a step stool and put it down next to her I waited for the explosion and there was absolutely none he could get on off jump sideways whatever and she did not move one inch all four feet planted to the ground I think she is here presumably for a week no maybe a month for him to fix this thing had to have it already fixed or certainly well on its way to being fixed in less than half an hour it's where that bit about actually knowing your animal comes into being somehow when ** *** was circling him he convinced her that she was supposed to do as he said and so she did...

I have seen one other time when Wallace completely corrected a problem horse in less than 5 minutes---it's one of those things about being so familiar with the horse that it doesn't take much... with a horse was that it would not get on the trailer this other problem also another common problem with horses. Often involving brooms and ropes and loud noises the try and get the horse on the trailer he took the lead rope and stepped away from the trailer and turned that horse in circles for not more than 5 minutes and then said now please get out on the trailer and she walked right on unbelievable he knows his horses somehow in the process of riding bulls he learned all about horses.

as with the training of dogs real trainers and people who totally understand dogs are in very short supply.... I'm not sure if in our modern society a horse is all that useful but I am convinced that we have not begun to understand what the dogs can do for us as im larkey with his armpit sniffing for identifying diabetes...

I have one other FYI to remind you of today larkey's brother Carl belongs to Olaf and comes here to visit whenever Olaf has to go somewhere else in the world/Olaf had a terrible problem with Carl drooling massive quantities of drool massive and this went on for a year or so to the point where he considered surgery to kind of close up the gap which was the producing the drool... and then one day when Olaf was leaving the country and I had Carl I noticed no drool at our place well I feed purina pro plan and I have fed that now for probably 50 years and pretty exclusively and I noticed after Olaf had been gone a couple days Carl did not drool//.   So when Olaf came back I Ask him what he was feeding Carl////and he explained in great detail how the woman who managed the dog food at the Co-op had explained to him that he really had to feed his dog something like seaweed and venison or something which was very expensive but they happened to sell it there///I know. dog food is a religion to some people== it is not to me so I suggested ohh off switch to for purina pro plan which he did and the drilling stopped..   then to be sure we had a scientific trial  Olaf put Carl back on what he had been feeding and he began to drool again and this was a massive drooling-so we put him back on pro plan and he's been fine for last year or two.  till he was in the car with Janine and I when we went to the market and I came out of the market and carl's head was out the window and there was a good 6 inches of matching drool from both sides of his mouth yes you couldn't miss it.  so when I came home I asked Olaf what what he was now feeding he said well he had started to feed just a spoonful or two of canned food of some special kind with his dinner.... ohh I suggested maybe he stopped that and by golly our drooling problem it has stopped again..   My feeling with purina is that if there was a better dog food that could be made they would make it and they would charge all outdoors for it.    I have had many Danes be put on other food by well meaning dog food salesman of one kind or another sometimes called veterinarians I have never had a dog be allergic to this purina that I feed purina pro plan chicken and rice and the other comment I have here is that if you pick up the canned purina pro plan chicken and rice which the dogs absolutely adore etcetera etcetera if you check on the content label last I knew it was pretty much the same content as is in the dry food just add 78% water thus endeth my lesson for the day
