Today is the day I'm going to put my head back together.. that's going to be a challenge--- But I think the pieces are there which just need reassembling—my goal there is Monday morning.. Crazy acres farm now has its own financial set up with it's our own checking account, 501C3 paperwork is done,  board of directors , Personnel and payroll in order, And most important the mission statements for our Various facets are clear and Are ready for all to  carefully consider.

It has been a long haul.

There has been a few highlights in my career—one biggie was bella and George winning the service dog of the year in 2015—and I had another yesterday.

Judy and I were at the brightview adult care center in andover..i had my usual 4  dogs lying at my feet while I answered the questions judy relayed to my faulty ears.... and one of the staff started in telling how she had seen a little girl at her son’s school with a dog like sizzle—and how the girl walked along nicely, then somehow tripped... and the dog stopped .for quite a few seconds while the girl steadied herself and got her feet organized and just walked on.. I was thrilled to tell them that sizzle was the dog’s relative ( which I am sure she is somehow? Great grandmother twice removed??) I spent a few moments thinking how simple the solution was for someone like me to provide the trained dog—and how upsetting it would have been for that little girl to have fallen, and had a bunch of teachers and janitors come running to get her on her feet again.  When the dog simply just handled the problem  with a “ ok..lets get on with it” attitude...

I have often said---and believe me .. I have been criticized big time for saying... “danes are almost born service dogs if you just don’t wreck them”. Because some of these things the dogs do just cannot be taught.....  yet dogs... especially danes often just do them---someone always has a story of a dane some uncle had in 1948 who would predict a seizure or help someone who. Had fallen.. long before a dane as a service dog was even thought of. My conclusion is ... if we did not teach the skill, yet the dogs do them--- Then the dog must have been observant enough to figure it out themselves--- so developing the capability to learn is the critical aspect...

So there !! danm it !!

are you building blocks of learning ... or just building mental blocks to learning.???
