hopefully life is quieting down--- but it is only 6am-- and i have not had the early morn report fromt he barn/icu...
as of last night teh 2 who had temps ON THURS had a lower temp - nearly normal-but i told megan not to go too far away today-- devlin does have all teh instructions... but by now most of all this is in megans head-- aND ON HER CELL PHONE..
I ASSUME---- THERE IS THAT WORD AGAIN--- THAT SHE BACKS UP HER INFORMAQTION SOMEHOW... I DO NOT- FOR A MOMENT HAVE ANY FAITH IN INTANGEABLE BACK UPS--WHEN I THINK ALL TEH SUCCESS OF SDP IS CONTINGENT ON MEGAN NOT DROPPING HER PHONE IN A BUCKET OF WATER, I GET NERVOUS... EVEN IF SHE HAS AN ALARMING AMOUNT OF IT IN HER HEAD.
WE CAN START TO DISCUSS PLANS FOR A DOG- SHE CAN RECAL EVERY TRAINING TRIP, WHO THE PARENTS and siblings are- what they did with whom- who has applied for a dog like that and they can come for a visit next friday--...
and i am still on..." lets see... if today is tuesday...."-- and without my "day clocks " i am never too sure of that----
i may get there... but the whole process is entirely different.

12 pups is alot to have running around t his house at this age--- we need to get them outside as soon as they get their shots-- which shoudl happen sunday??? (ask megan's phone) -- i used to take them all to the fairgraounds in our "van" --way back (2000) i took litters all by myself-- no way can i do that now... maybe 2 volunteers-- and alot of poo pickers...
for me to take 2 volunteers to the fairgrounds means we would need 2 to stay at home and manage the mayhem here. which means more volunteers on a routine basis.. the younger ones with younger joints can go with me and chase pups... which does not let off you who think you can not volunteer because you could stay here and answer teh phone and fold laundry !! i am fully aware of this pain in the joints thing-- i went to the dentist yesterday and she suggested i tak some painkiller for 24 hours after teh proceedure-- i told her i alreADY TOOK TYLENOL TO GREASE THE REST OF MY COMPLAINING JOINTS.

AS FOR THE KENNEL COUGH-- I CAN REPORT ON SIZZLE WHO WAS GAGGING 2 DAYS AGO..- YESTERDAY I HEARD HER DO A VERY MINOR COUGH JUST once - WHICH could not be distinguished from just a normal single cough...last week it was pretty noisy around here--- it is not now. so i am looking to be over it. keep in mind-- that does not mean we don't have another of the 4037 problems a bunch of dogs can have... but i think the cough is on it's way out. i don't remember her coughing at all during mail call last night-- and if she did ... you would have heard it.
the various vets have said-- barring any other disaster--- we can go ahead and vaccinate the pups with that c5 shot on sunday-- they will be 6 weeks old... it is the vacine for parvo-- distemper --- etc that is so critical as their immunity from mom's chlosterum wears off???? ( vacines are a hotly debated item for humans and animals- frankly--- experience has made me believe in them -- look at polio)

steve- who lives on cape cog--- just came in and said across the street from him they have tested 5 mosquitos for EEE and the pond down the street has been closed for that blue algae bit
we have an appmt with bryan to come vaccinate all our donkeys for EEE this ?tuesday?

the whole antibody discussion goes on and on.... is too much hand sanitizer detrimental to our building up antibodies ourselves?? - i do know my husband never had any "flu shots" - he spent 50 years of everyone coughing and sneeziung in his face... and he never got the flu. he did wash his hands probably more than any other living human-- every time he went in to or exited a room-- with a patient- he would wash up. he said so that people coud see him do it was the reason... whatever... he washed and scrubbed his hands so much that his fingenails had to be cut daily.
--- a doctor washing his hands is teh equilivant of a great dane drinking water-- they wash hands and wrists.... with such enthusiasm that the walls and floor get wet too.
