sept 6 2019

lets start with-- all teh dogs here would very safe if we kept them all in cages---miserable but safe-i try a balancing act and yesterday we won one and lost one.  the puppy  LILO that was so sick and  was left at teh woburn  special hospital  was deemed fine-- with maybe a stomach bug- and sent home-   which was confusing to  enter her back in the pack... at which time one of sizzles pups got hurt and bled uncontrolably- we lost her in spite of a quick run to DAH  with her mother as possible blood donor.

IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE WHO THINKS ACCIDENTS WILL NEVER HAPPEN, PLEASE GO WATCH THE FISH.
ALL OF OUR PEOPLE DO A WONDERFUL JOB WALKING THE TIGHTROPE OF RAISING ANIMALS.. IT IS A SCAREY THING AT BEST. I AM TERRIFIED  AT THE SITUATIONS I SEE AROUND HERE DAILY- FROM TRUCKS IN TEH DRIVEWAY  TO AN ODD NAIL STICKING OUT OF A FENCEPOST.
THERE IS A VERY SIMPLE ANSWER TO EACH - EXCEPT THEY DO PILE  TOGETHER-- I CAN NOT POUND TEH NAIL WHEN TEH TRASH MAN IS COMING IN THE DRIVEWAY AND I NEED TO CHECK IF DOGS ARE LOOSE...- AND BY THE TIME HE GOES I WILL HAVE NOTICED   A GATE LEFT OPEN THAT SHOULD N'T BE.  THERE IS NO END....

FUGEN DID THE RIGHT THING--- SHE IS SENDING US  SOMETHING TO HANG TO WARD OFF EVILS--  THAT IS AS GOOD AS ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE.
THERE WERE 2 PEOPLE  WHO  DID NOT LIKE MY EXPLINATION..... AND  TOOK THE  WHY DIDN'T YOU  JUST XXXXXXXX-  WELL I COULD TELL  YOU WHY-- BUT FRANKLY IT IS TOO COMPLICATED.  AND IF MY EXPLINATIONS GET ROUNDED AT THE CORNERS... SO BE IT.

I THINK WE HAVE ROUNDED ONE CORNER WITH THE THROWING..... ONE PUP LAST NIGHT  SPIT UP 14 TIMES- PEOPLE  ON LINE GOT  UPSET WITH THE  14 TIMES.... SOMEONE DECIDED SHE SHOULD GET FLUIDS-- SOMEONE ELSE DECIDED I WAS BAD NOT  GIVE HER FLUIDS-  AND SOME OF TTHE CP'S WERE OFF AND RUNNING.
LET ME RUN THRU THIS ONE THING AND GIVE YOU SOME OF THE FACTORS.-- i was up--- and did check on her....  my big concern would be bloat-- an immediate surgical problem       this did not seem to be that..... so i went back to bed.   fluids could wait in this case...
VOMITING CAN LEAD TO  DEHYDRATION- ESPECIALLY IF COMBINED WITH DIARRHEA -AND TEHY HAD SOME LOOSE STOOL... THOSE 2 THINGS LEAD  THE  SENSATIONILISTS TO DECIDE WE WERE HARBOURING PARVO- A POTENTIAOLLY FATAL  DISEASE FOR DOGS---

WELLLLLL... WE ARE 4 DAYS AWAY FROM BEING ABLE TO VACCINATE FOR PARVO-- WHICH THEY GET AT 6 WEEKS..   REGARDLESS OF WHAT  TEHY WERE VOMITING...  TAKING THEM TO A PLACE THAT HAS SICK DOGS IS ALWAYS A RISK  -- LIKE A VET HOSPITAL .
THEY JUST--- THE DAY BEFORE-- HAD MOMMY GO HOME- SO THEY DID NOT HAVE THAT MILK SUPPLY... PLUS  THEY ARE DUE TO BE WORMED ( WHICH EVERY PUP NEEDS LIKE EVERY 2 WEEKS)
teh rest of teh place had  been coughing with the darn kennel cough... whch sometiems is an attractive  gagging   maneuver.--- so----  faced with a puppy in pain and vomiting  i decided to tiake her to dah-
however---- on teh way she passed an incredable amt of gas and produced a small quantity of  not quite loose poop... then fell asleep- so i felt better about her -----but with all the medical people telling me all the horrible things it could be-- i opted to go to woburn teh big referreable hospital.-  sort of teh ultimate in vet hospitals..-  to be tested for everything. $1100 later the  report said -

probably a stomach ache...
She can be returned to her usual puppy diet and exercise as she chooses.

so even with teh 7th  pup vomiting 14 times and then falling asleep, it bolsters my belief that danes have a "reject" button in their tummies -- and throw up  many times-- from  bile to socks--
not every vomiting is parvo...  even if parvo is out there.
***
does this mean we do  not have parvo?  yes
does it mean we will not have  parvo tomorrow?  no

moving on...
