MAY 12 2018
$15,000  PROFIT ??? WOW---  IN THE PAST 2 YEARS I HAVE PURCHASED 1700 OF THE LITTLE BRASS SNAPS THAT I USE ON THE MONKEY FISTS THAT I SELL/ GIVE AWAY TO CHICKEN BRICKSTERS   IN A VERY LOOSLY ORGANIZED "BUSINESS"  WHERE IF SOMEONE WANTS ONE THEY SEND ME A PADDED   SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPE- WITH OR WITHOUT MONEY -- MOSTLY WITH--- AS THEY "DONATE" TO THE CHICKEN BRICKSTERS PARTY- PROBABLY AN AVERAGE OF $10 EVEN WITH ALL THE ONES I HAVE GIVEN AWAY-    THE SNAPS (   THE BUCKLE GUYS #45)  COST $1 AND THE STRING PROBABLY 2 CENTS-ONE 1/2 INCH MARBLE 3 CENTS -- AND I AM IN BUSINESS--VERY LITTLE INVESTMENT -- OR OVERHEAD...
I REMEMBER---- MY FATHER---- WHO SOLD HEAVY EQUIPMENT-- TRACTORS - STEAMROLLERS ETC-- SAID WHATEVER YOU DO  DON'T GET IN ANY BUSINESS THAT INVOLVES HAVING TO HAUL THINGS AROUND WITH BIG TRUCKS - HE RECOMENDED FLY SWATTERS... MONKEY FISTS ARE CLOSE.. IN CONCEPT  ANYWAY..
MAKING THOSE THINGS IS REALLY A NERVOUS HABIT-- TAKES ME 6 MINUTES TO MAKE ONE.---- SOME CP CAME UP WITH THE LABEL  "THIS ZIPPER PULL /MONKEY FIST  CONTAINS ONE MARBLE-- SO WHEN YOU THINK YOU'VE LOST YOUR MARBLES, YOU HAVE ONE LEFT"

THE STORIES  ABOUT  OUR DOGS....ASHER AND  CHARLOTTE.... ARE FAR MOR INTERESTING THAN ANYTHING I CAN WRITE-- SO HAVE AT IT.

ASHER AND I ARE FINALLY 2LS!!
IT'S BEEN QUITE THE EXPERIENCE, SURVIVING THROUGH OUR FIRST YEAR OF LAW SCHOOL, AND I'M NOT EXAGGERATING ONE BIT WHEN I SAY THAT I COULDN'T HAVE MADE IT THROUGH THIS YEAR WITHOUT ASHER. NOT ONLY WAS HE THERE TO HELP KEEP ME SAFE WHEN I NEEDED HIM, BUT HE WAS ALSO MY CONSTANT COMPANION - THERE FOR THE HAPPIER DAYS AND THERE FOR THE TEARS. AND NO MATTER WHAT THE DAY BROUGHT, HE ALWAYS GAVE THE BEST HUGS TO EASE THE PAIN OF AN UNSUCCESSFUL COLD CALL OR GET ME THROUGH THAT TOUGHEST CLASS.
WE MADE FRIENDS TOGETHER; MY BEST (TWO-LEGGED) FRIEND AND I LAUGH ALL THE TIME ABOUT HOW WE MET WHEN SHE CAME UP AT ORIENTATION AND THE FIRST WORDS OUT OF HER MOUTH WERE, "HI, CAN I PET YOUR DOG?" AND HOW I THOUGHT THAT WAS THE END OF THAT BECAUSE I SAID NO. BUT I DON'T GET TO KEEP HER ALL TO MYSELF - ASHER LIGHTS UP EVERY TIME HE SEES HER AND PRACTICALLY BEGS TO SAY HI. THERE ARE PLENTY OF FRIENDS WE'VE MADE BECAUSE ASHER WAS THERE TO START THAT FIRST CONVERSATION - SOMETHING THAT USED TO BE SO DIFFICULT BEFORE - AND I'M GRATEFUL THAT HE'S ALLOWED ME TO COME OUT OF MY SHELL AND MEET PEOPLE HERE THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE OTHERWISE.
ASHER HAS BEEN EMBRACED BY THE LAW SCHOOL AND IS ARGUABLY THE MOST POPULAR MEMBER OF OUR CLASS OF 2020 - FROM BRINGING A RI FEDERAL COURT JUDGE TO HIS KNEES IN A GOOD SUIT JUST SO HE COULD SAY HI AND STEAL A KISS AFTER A HEARING TO BEING VOTED INTO 1L BARRISTER'S COURT AT THE LAW SCHOOL PROM, ASHER HAS BECOME A FAVORITE WITH SO MANY STUDENTS AND ALSO OUR PROFESSORS. HE'S NOT ONLY GOOD AT KEEPING ME SMILING THROUGH THOSE LONG DAYS, BUT OTHERS, TOO.
SO WHILE ASHER IS REALLY AWFUL AT TAG-TEAMING CRIMINAL LAW, HELPING ME STUDY, OR GETTING UP IN THE MORNING FOR CLASS (IT'S A WONDER WE ONLY OVERSLEPT ONCE. HE'S INCREDIBLY PERSUASIVE WHEN THE ALARM GOES OFF AND HE JUST WANTS TO CUDDLE!), HE'S BEEN MY PERFECT COMPANION THROUGHOUT THE LAST NINE MONTHS, GUIDING US THROUGH THIS NEW EXPERIENCE AND TRYING HIS DARNDEST TO MAKE IT A FUN ONE. IT'S INDEED BEEN "1L" OF A RIDE, BUT THERE'S NO ONE ELSE I WOULD WANT WALKING THROUGH IT WITH ME DAY IN AND DAY OUT. ONE YEAR DOWN, TWO TO GO!!

Good morning Carlene and crew,

The leadership for this conference I'm at have told me that I might be invited to come back next year if I want to do a seminar on disabilities and the clinical lab. They feel that is an important topic for laboratory leaders that hasn't been discussed here. This has been a more positive experience than I could have hoped for. I was nervous about seeing so many people from my military career and that they may look down upon me. Everyone has, without a doubt, been very considerate and encouraging. I could be mistaken but I think this may be the first service dog at this lab conference. Charlotte is such a great partner, I swear she knows when I need her stability almost every time before I go down. Thanks again SDP for all you do. It has changed my quality of life in ways I hadn't even considered. I'm not cured (duh) but I feel like I have a second wind.

Thank you, thank you so much.

Paul and Charlotte
