"start small"--- which he did-- selling drinks off the back of his bike--and now he and joyce are right up there with gates and buffett- he discusses in detail some of the things his company does... hire local townspeople-- which as he got bigger became a totally "in house" operation- minus controlling factions like stockholders or bank lenders, they could change thier minds in a building operation without having to get outside archetects to redraw plans constantly-- just one of th e ridiculous problems i had with that building i did - he ocassionally had building inspector problems, planning boards that disagreed-and even a newspaper who was constantly bashing his company--he certainly turned around both woburn and beverly into an economic hub of the boston universe.
i knew united shoe property in beverly- a rusting hulk of a place with thousands of broken windows- i did not realize it was second to the hoover dam in mass of concrete used when it was built - with renovation this Cummings Center is an economic hub of north of boston- from dentists to computer research to mexican restaurants to doggie day care.
there is soooo much about "the shoe"and historic monopoly busniess practices ... ----- way back in the early 1900's the Company's practice of leasing equipment and selling customers only the equipment's proprietary parts.t
i think of that almost daily as hp practically gives away printers and charges huge fees for the ink...or " let us help with your diabetes testing-- here is a new testing device free"..just wait til you see what teh test strips cost !!
they held 9000 patents on unrelated strange things like pop top soda cans-
and then.....comments like -- teh women came to work 10 min after teh men and left 10 min early so they didn;'t have to meet coming and going.----and then......mens golf course, and clubhouse with small rooms for teh women to talk and sew. #me too.

well thankfully teh cummings business model just keeps making so much money that they have to have a whole division to give it away-- like to service dog project-- so far $100,000 in 2 years---- they have paid for entire -- boys clubs- senior living-- health centers-- and the tufts vet school is now cummings vet school at tufts.
we are sitting on our hands hopefully we will hear this month about another Cummings grant..

another facet i found interesting... for all teh great things the cummings have accomplished- there exists an element in the population which will try and attract a following of people just wanting someone to hate. wanna talk about facebook? - facebook has given the world a platform previously restricted to small town officials like zoning boards and building inspectors..
SDP has had a few go rounds- most reciently th e breeding of audrey-- a white dane... SDP was going on the carefully researched color chart ( which i will send to anyone who wants to check) it says a white dog bred to a black dog will produce no white dogs which could be deaf..., only merles and harlequins----- which is exactly what happened.... so now where are all those people who told people to stop supporting SDP because we were greedy money hungry unethical and things like that... we had another a few years ago about breeding terribly inferior dogs who needed thousands of $$ so they could chew food.-- we have not had any of those either...all our dogs chew fine..... where's their correction? or more to the point i think the expression is " put your money where your mouth is." NOW THAT WAS NOT NICE... SHAME ON ME...

while i am annoying people.... did i hear correctly that the AKC has decided to allow merles in the show ring?-- not long ago merles were to be given away or destroyed at birth because people had been trained for some ulterior motive...
got to be careful who is training you to think in any particular manner

time for everyone to start worrying about bella's ears...
WELL I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO HELP WITH THESE EARS. LAST NIGHT BELLA WAS AWAKE AT 10 ASKING FOR MOTRIN BECAUSE HER EARS AND HEAD HURT. I OF COURSE GAVE HER A DOSE. THEN SHE FELL BACK ASLEEP. THEN AT 11:30 IT STARTED. SHE WAS GRUNTING AND GROWNING, WHINING AND CRYING. AT 12:30 SHE COULD TAKE TYLENOL SO I GAVE HER SOME ALONG WITH BENEDRYL. SHE CALMED DOWN FOR A COUPLE MINUTES BUT THE NOT LONG AT ALL. SHE JUST KEPT GRABBING HER EARS AND CRYING. SO THEN AT 2 I PULLED OUT OXY AND REMOVED HER BRACE. FIGURED WE HAVE GIVEN TYLENOL AND MOTRIN TIME AND THEY WEREN’T HELPING. BUT THEN AT 2:30 SHE WAS STILL MISERABLE TO WE DROVE INTO BOSTON TO HAVE HER CHECKED OUT. AT THIS POINT I’M WONDERING IF HER EAR DRUMS BURST. SHE HAS HER EARS LOOKED AT AND STILL HAS AN INFECTION. IT STILL LOOKS HORRIBLE. THEY SAID IT THE LED SHE HAD STARTED ON MONDAY WAS GOING TO CLEAR IT UP IT WOULD HAVE BEEN JUST ABOUT GONE BUT IT WASN’T. SO NOW A THIRD ANTIBIOTIC. THEY GAVE HER NUMBING DROPS WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL JUST BEFORE WE LEFT AT 5:30. BELLA HAD STARTED TO FINALLY DOSE OFF AT 5. WE CARE HOME AND PUT HER IN BED. SHE WOKE CRYING AGAIN AT 7. SO WE TOOK THE VEST OFF AND GAVE ANOTHER DOSE OF MEDS. THEN SHE SLEPT UNTIL ALMOST 10. SHE SAID THIS HURT WORSE THAN BACK SURGERY. THE POOR KIDDO IS SO MISERABLE. HOPEFULLY THESE MEDS KICK IN FAST BECAUSE THEY ARE RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS. SO NOW WITH NO SLEEP LAST NIGHT AND WORK TODAY WE ARE OFF TO BED. THANKS FOR CHECKING IN. LOVE BELLA AND GEORGE
