i was under attack for the past few days... on facebook... ... and i--- in error--- tried to teach the woman the genetics of audrey-- she knew a few words.. but didn't know their meanings.... i am no expert by a long shot... but this chart i have passed around of colors of danes... with which our actual litters do agree pretty well.... if audrey was this double merle pure white... then bred to a black she would have had only merles-- however the fact that she had the one harlequin proves she is a whiteH-- this angry person was not even listening to that fact.
she is having so much fun blasting me for breeding "double merles" ---- the article she is quoting from some great dane study and what they mean is the breeding to cause the pure white "double merle" is wrong-- what she does not know is-- breeding to a black dog does not produce this pure white deaf dog. mind you breeding bentley to scarlott is the breeding she should be compalining abotu... that merle/harl cross does produce a few white deaf... like ariot.. another thing she does not understand... is... being deaf is not a problem to someone who can deal with a deaf dog.. the one thing deaf dogs get a bad rap for is... being startled they might turn and bite at an unexpected touch... so when they are little puppies you must get them used to being snatched at-- so we grab and when they turn you shove a nice cookie in their face... . pretty soon thy love being snatched/touched unexpectedly...
that picture of me feeding the group of 12...6 week old pups is interesting... 11 of the 12 are looking at me for the next spoonful... the one looking sideways is... ariot---
the part where this briget person went off the deep end .. is ... i said since bentley and scarlott produced such great pups-- like george, i considered the production of 3 deaf pups at the same time as 19 certified service dogs to be no problem... the 3 deaf were beautifully cared for....
she declared that to be unethical-- and i unfortunately told her to argue that with bella's mother.
i considered puttin her email address and phone number in this DD... but ... i know it would be better to just let it die...

i was reminded of......... per the internet so it must be true.... to concentrate the conversation in one direction.... the dead cat theory of human behavior ( the senator on cnn was referring to politics) the statement was " if you sit down to dinner, and someone throws a dead cat onto the table, the conversation will turn to the dead cat" --- that's pretty descriptive of some people's approach to discussions... or control of the news...

20 years ago , the merle pups were declared to be bad---by the "authorities" -- and were often destroyed at birth... fortunately when i started raising danes, i never knew how bad they were ... and my first 3 service dogs were "the merle girls" all three had lovely lives as service dogs finally dying after 10 years -- of fairly normal causes.. cancer, kidney failing and just worn out. annie was with a person melissa .. who is deaf
maude went thru the panama canal twice on cruise ships, and bella had 2 owners due to the first having too many strokes. wonderful dogs .. each one. so i am looking forward to the litter of merles....
(please anything besides more black puppies that i can not tell apart...!!)

moving on... i am needing some brawny help today... currently i have both dump trailers overflowing with trash which i must get to the dump today because i have at least one more trailerfull to get out of there before wednesday at 8am... when i hope a bulldozer or equivelent is due here to straighten out the drainage off teh arena...

1/2 the water is going nicely down behind the new building... but the other 1/2 is stuck in the area of teh huge manure pile and back driveway...if there is anything we are good at , it is making top soil... for the donkeys ( or horses ) dance around/ walk thru.. in any puddle with puckies the material produced will resemble nice dark top soil in 6 months...
so we need to push some of the parking lot behind the arena and get the water running down the "alley" to the "low spot" which is also our "tree dump"-- maybe .. just maybe.. we can get the best of the manure production problem....

when yo see the truck arrive with 3 tons of hay which is carefully stored in the hay loft... how many of you realize that will be at least 3 tons of manure with which i must deal....
the 8 pallets of dog food eventually goes out bagged... in the dumpster for $150 a month... biggest bargain on the planet....

Megan took us into town for some "tweaking". It was helpful.
