H E LLLLLLLLLLP-- THE CHICKEN BRICK BOARD WAS OUT OF COMMISSION FOR A BIT- SO -- WE ARE BEHIND----  TEH SHATTING IS SUNDAY..AND WE ARE ONLY 62% SOLD.  I KNOW IT IS VACATION TIME--- AND THIS HAPPENS.. BUT IF YOU CAN...........CLICK ON OUR CHICKEN    **** NOW THAT I CAN FIND ALOT OF MY TOOLS AND ODD BITS.... I AM TRYING TO ACHIEVE A FEW OVERDUE CHORES A DAY.. IT IS SOOO EXCITING-- I HUNG 2 LADDERS WHICH WERE BEING hidden in the small trees... .. things that lie flat  are subject to being CONSUMED BY THE FOREST.- ONE OF THE MOST FREQUENTLY  LOST.. IS A 6 FOOT LONG  HEAVY CROW BAR   BECAUSE WHEN  DROPPED BY A FENCE IT IS ONLY ONE INCH HIGH.--- BY THE TIME I BOUGHT AND GOT A METAL DETECTOR WORKING THE FOREST WAS 3 FEET HIGH AND NEARLY IMPENETRABLE.    MAYBE THAT WOULD BE AN INTERESTING JOB FOR THE GE CREW NEXT TIME THEY COME HERE... DETECTING METALS....   CROW BARS AND THAT FENCE MENDING TOOL THAT I THINK I BUY 4 OF EACH YEAR.  *** SPEAKING OF BEING CONSUMED BY THE FOREST---  THAT DOES HAPPEN PRETTY QUICKLY- SMALL TREES DO POP UP.  SOMEONE POINTED OUT THAT THERE WERE 3 YEAR OLD  OAK TREES IN THE GUTTERS OF MY  HOUSE... WHICH BRINGS TO MIND -- I DID HEAR SOME BRAVE SOUL SUGGEST THAT WITH ALL OUR ADORATION OF PERFECT GREEN LAWNS THAT PLANTING  A FEW TREES WAS FAR MORE TO THE POINT.` PROMOTING TREE PLANTING SHOULD , APPARENTLY,  BE ON SOMEONES AGENDA-  THAT HAS VERY SENSIBLE OVERTONES.....WON'T HAPPEN AS LONG AS TEH SCOTTS  LAWN SEED COMPANY HAS A BIG LOBBY GROUP IN DC...  ***  THINGS LIKE   BREATHING  AND OXYGEN   ARE VERY CLOSE TO MY NEED FOR BEING CLOSE TO LAKES AND  WATER... FOR ALL TEH COMPLAINING ABOUT CHINA STEALING ALL OUR MANUFACTURING JOBS... NO ONE MENTIONS THAT MANY  PEOPLE IN CHINA WEAR  FACE MASKS ON A ROUTINE BASIS  JUST TO CUT THE POLUTION......  THAT ALONG WITH THE SPECTACULAR DUMPS  SHOULD MAKE US RETHINK trash and polution..... DID I READ LATELY THAT THERE IS A  "GREAT PACIFIC GARBAGE PATCH" BETWEEN SEATLE AQND HAWAII THAT IS TWICE TEH SIZE OF TEXAS???? I CAN REMEMBER BEING SHOCKED WHEN I HEARD  IT WAS THE SIZE OF MANHATTAN...  BUT TWICE TEXAS???? *** I HAVE A LIST FOR THE DAY- FUN THINGS--  LIKE DOG HOUSE BUILDING-- TO COVER TEH EXITS FROM TEH KENNELS-- WHEN IT RAINS, GREAT DNAES WILL PEE IN THE KENNEL BECAUSE THEY DO NOT LIKE TO BE HIT IN TEH HEAD BY TEH RAIN OFF TEH ROOF. SO THEY NEED EXIT TUNNELS--- AND I DID NOT NOTICE-- WE NEED ONE MORE. --- ELIMINATE THAT PROBLEM AND THEY WILL GO OUTSIDE... *** Hi Carlene, We have been enjoying home on Long Island after a quick visit to New York City early this month so we could see Erica & Asher (before they returned to Rhode Island).  We also enjoy going out in our community and I have been thinking about how wonderful this is...I remember when I applied. You said that going to PT & doctor’s appts, etc wasn’t enough, and I had to go out into the community if I were matched. It was a rather scary thought at the time, because I was trying so hard to get better that it took almost all my energy, so I had little left for fun. As it turns out, I just needed the perfect partner to help me walk better - to regain strength & renew my confidence. Well, here we are, almost 3 years later :) Last week, we went to a musical at our community theater. Here is something that should make you  and the trainers proud (as well as everyone who played a role in raising Seagram): after the show ended, as people shuffled out, two women cane up to us. The first said,  “There is the other star of the show.” (this is my favorite recent quote about Seagram) And her friend added, “She was so good! She was the best behaved dog I have ever seen!” They were interested to hear about how Seagram helps me walk, since they are physical therapists. I explained that I needed a walker or a cane for a few years before we were matched. I gave them one of Seagram’s business cards, and explained about the puppies on the Explore cameras. In addition, I suggested that they consider if they have any patients with mobility issues. One of the women commented about Seagram’s height, and I explained that is one of the reasons we were matched together. Not long after, I stood up with Seagram’s help. As the woman walked away, she said approvingly, “She (Seagram) is right at the greater trochanter.*” *the bony bump at the top of the outside of the leg, just below the hip. (Apparently this landmark is used to determine the proper length of a cane.) I thought you would be happy to hear that we are indeed out in the community regularly - and not only that, but so many people recognize us. The best part about this recognition is that it is not just since Seagram is noteable for her size, but because of her excellent manners and helpfulness.  Thank you so much for Seagram! Amy
