mentally sidetracked again-
i should be writing to dubai about teh dubaI CAres movement which has contaCTED US--2 things are stopping me... first janine has told me to watch a TED lecture before i write that letter....- and i have forgotten the name of it. secondly linda tellls me teh ipswich town manager wants to come visit yus next thursday- just because he is new...-- i am deligvhted to see him... we are doing a lovlely responsibel job here ( aqccording to me) - we have made a few "adjustments" to try and deal with any neighbor's compalints about noise.... there really is not much... i get up at 4am... and i have heard one "double bark" ( woof woof) in the last 2 hours... i don't think i have heard that frustrated barking most kennels have where the dogs are boreed/ frustrated and need some attention.
for our dogs to bark , they have to have a good reason. linda put it very well--- as she was leaving she could hear kids yelling at each other- and she prefers barking to that noise...
problem is... we are inheriting the reputation of those less responsible.. the only thing we coujld do thaqat might help ... is to feed the dogs about an hour later so they are not so hungry at 7am--it is currently 6:20 and i have not heard a peep -( i have that puppy hill camera sound on... so i listen.. ) doesn't sound like much.. except i have said a trainer should be around for feeding to be sure it is done within the set parameters.. one house one barn then there would have to be someone to wash bowls, clean up , and water off in the barn- someone is in the house due to mail call... so 2 trainers+1 kennel person for an extra hour a day -- would be about $50 per day times 7 days a week $350- or $1400.00 a month. just because someone did not read teh sigh that says" before you buy here, we are a farm-- a noisy , smelly, sexy farm. " we are what we are... and when i moved in 1979 it was a long time ago....
****
so i must away to the dubai cares web ... and read up... and find the ted lecture i am supposed to read about sponsoring....

i wrote this bit yesterday
bone headed stupidity.... from first hand experience, i know all about that...
i have been wearing my eyeglasses on top of my head because i can see better without them.
one day at lunch anne pointed out one big reason may be that they are coated with what is probably dog slobber..
and went on to tell me they have little packets of lens wipers..
well i already own those little packets-- i put one in the area of my pill box
i touch teh pill box at bedtime- and who needs to clean their eye glasss at bedtime?
i did recognize that as an organizational defect- and moved them to my left hand drawer to be available for those "your call is improtant to us" moments.
where the system falls apart there is that i would grab one and rip away- fighting with the tough packet- mostly because i never read teh directions on "how to open this packet"- which insulted me-- why would i read that which any fool should be able to figure out.
so today-- this fool read the directions , and sure enough.... if you gl asses are clean enough so you can see the fine line about "tear here"- then you r glasses don't nead cleaning...
which is very nearly why i signed up for eye surgery.

THE BATHTUB TEST
During a visit to a mental asylum, I asked the director how do you determine whether a person should or should not be institutionalized.
“Well”...said the director, “we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and asked him/her to empty the bathtub...”
“Oh, I understand”..I said. “A normal person would use the bucket because it’s bigger than the spoon or a teacup..”
“No”..said the director. “A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?”
