updating------COMPLICATED ROYAL CARRIBEAN
and shannon and zeke being "thrown off" the cruize ship---
I HOPE I HAVE IT RIGHT....WE HAVE HAD ALOT OF INPUT...
APPARENTLY... GOOD OLE BRITAIN HAD AN
INFLUENCE ON BERMUDA-- ( note... ALSO AN ISLAND-O) AND THEY ARE
EXTREMELY PROTECTIVE ABOUT WHO COMES ASHORE... HEALTH WISE... THEY
HAVE A RULE ....
All animals arriving in Bermuda must be
accompanied by an import permit and an original veterinary health document. and later on it says service
dogs are included in that _"import permit"
APPARENTLY
THAT IS THE MISSING DOCUMENT-- WHICH SHANNON WOULD NOT NEED IF SHE JUST
PLANNED ON THE TRIP AS A BOAT RIDE AND DID NOT HAVE / OR WANT TO GO ASHORE IN
BERMUDA.
i believe
she had done the FORM THAT ROYAL CARIBEAN HAD FOR ANY PASSENGER WHO MIGHT NEED
SPECIAL NEEDS-- AND THIS INCLUDED NEED TO PLUG IN WHEEL CHAIRS, REFRIGERATION
OF MEDICATIONS, CPAP USERS AND THE LIKE.. nothing the ada could object to
... just practical information--- i think she had done that...
it might
have been nice of teh boat company to alert her to the need for that
"import permit" , but i am not sure it would be a legal requirement.
just as teh usda only has a generic warning "check with local governments"
.... she had a Veterinary Health
Certificate for Export of Dogs and Cats for the US to Bermuda
but --- gotta love it--- that was not for teh importing of
dogs to bermuda...from the bermuda standpoint.
that is the paperwork end..... now how royal
boat bunch dealt with " i don't want to go ashore in bermuda" is a
whole new ball qame on which i have no opinion - but i do not see ----at the
moment----- that getting "thrown off" the cruize ship had
any service dog related problems.... so until we hear differently
i don't think we (CP's ) need a pink envelope campaign--- we
may still yet.... they certainly have some explaining to do -- at
least to shannon who got dumped in baltimore with no car/ transportation...
shannon said she would keep us informed.. so it
rests there for teh moment.

the huge excitement of yesterday was teh
fork lift--- totally efficient on warehouse flat floors-- not built for
teh outback sand lot. we have all got it stuck once-- and tom drove it
into the g tent friday where a pebble got in the way so it dug itself in by
spinning the flat warehouse tires that have zero tread. tom was not
aware that at crazy acres, that kind of thing is not a
disaster, but a very interesting challange. I.E. LEARNING
EXPERIENCE.... we tried alot of things, then ---thanks to a call
to steve #4 in ohio,---- he explained tipping the lifting mechanizm would
lift it 2" at a time. it weighs an awful lot-- solid lump of iron type
outweighs the tractor- big time
this may not be fascination to all of you...
but ... with the tractor, and it's hydralic systems , it is possible to ask teh
front bucket to push down on the ground- which will lift the ftont of teh
tractor well off teh ground... as a matter of fact- you can lift all 4 wheels
off teh ground with it's own hydralic stuff and take the 4 wheels
off and just leave the tractor standing in mid air....
not so with the fork lift... i tried that
pusHing down-- and it just did not.-- a call to steve explaINED THAT
BY PUTTING A 4X4 UNDER THE FRONT LIFTING ARRAINGEMENT-- AND THEN
ASKING IT TO "TIP" THAT FORK IT WOULD RAISE
IT P ABOUT 2 INCHES A TIME-- SO WITH ALOT OF HEAvy duty chuniks of wood- and
many people sitting around consideering every move.
for logical reasons it had to go
backwards to get out of teh hole-- and then it had to go forward to
get out of the g tent.. which meant it had to go thru where it had got stuck
before.. finally bud kept at it... and his engineering expertise got
it out. while the rest of the crowd took to sticking numbers on the table
for teh sunday shatting.
***
that shatting- with it's dedicated $10
support from all over the country... or world even...
is what keeps crazy acres able to supply life savers for people in need
of mobility.
****
when i see what some people are
challanged to endure, i don't think it appropriate for me to complain about MY
sore thumb which has made me understaND THE TINY DETAILS THAT CAN SCREW
UP DAILY LIFE- LIKE BLUE JEANS AND THEIR ZIPPERS THAT HAVE BEEN DESIGNED
BY A RIGHT HANDED PERSON WITH ABSOLUTELY NO CONSIDERATION FOR THE
PERSON WITH A SORE THUMB ON THEIR RIGHT HAND.
WHICH BRINGS TO MIND A POO PICKER ON MY DESK
SOMEWHERE THAT SAYS " NO MATTER WHAT IS DONE, SOMEWHERE
SOMEONE WILL FIND A WAY TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT."
****
SO WE ARE MOVING ON
IT WILL BE DIFFICULT NOT TO FIND A REASON NOT
TO GO TO _"CHRISTIES" FOR LUNCH WITH ANNE. IT IS A FISH
MARKET WITH A CHEF AND A FEW TABLES.. ANNE AND I FIND IT NECESSARY TO DO
PAPERWORK THERE..
LAST TIME A WOMAN SAT DOWN AT THE NEXT TABLE
And said "i just came from feeding your daughters donkeys at annes."
janine has a whole separate community of donkey people who are an
extension of teh cp's lunatic fringe.

tomorrow- tuesday--- rumor
has it charlie might be coming for a visit... that is charlie of dog bless you
/ explore.org fame... the song "if i knew you was comin' i'da
baked a cake" - doesn't apply. we are what we are- and teh
planned mid day enterteinment is bryan giving all the
donkeys a once over--mostly their feet-- we have a couple that are in
terrible shape-- you can not see the feet in the deep shavings or hay on the
hill... bryan is one of the very few i know who has the super education
and brute stregnth to deal - so if charlie is here, he might be interested in
bryan and the foot detail.
" never stop learning "
is teh motto.
that is also a heads up for the camera
operators mid day... it should be interesting .. if you can keep either
teh puppy hill or donkey camera on wherever teh action is...
***
and th e pack saddle has been found ... i
hope to get it on in show shape on a saw horse today like teh draft
and carriage harness seen on the puppy hill cameras lately.
*** stay tuned.
