BALD ELBOWS?? LONG STORY....
ONE OF THE BEST $5000 I EVER SPENT WAS ON THIS FLOOR IN THE HOUSE/OFFICE..... CAN YOU IMAGINE I ONCE HAD WALL TO WALL CARPET?? HOW FILTHY WAS THAT??
LET ME TELL YOU HOW FILTHY--- THE CARPET CLEANING COMPANY SAID THEY WOULD NEVER CLEAN ANOTHER CARPET FOR ME.... THAT IS HOW DIRTY....
I WENT THRU EVERY CARPET SHAMPOOER KNOWN TO MANKIND-- FROM TEH EXPENSIVE ORECK WHICH WAS GOOD, BUT OUT CLASSED... THOSE DR CARPET RENTALS FROM THE HARDWARE STORE WERE PRETTY GOOD..... BUT IT TOOK ME TOO LONG TO REALIZE CARPET IN GENERAL ---IS FOR APARTMENT DWELLERS WHO TRACK IN STUFF AND LEAVE IT ON THE STAIRS AN D ELEVATORS BEFORE COMING IN THE APARTMENT.
EVEN WITHOUT DOGS AND OTHER ANIMALS, THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF CARPET IS MEARLY A PLACE TO STORE ALLERGENS AND TEH SCENT OF PAST GARLEICKY DINNER PARTIES----- EVEN IF YOU TRY TO VACUUM UNDER... IT IS NOT 100%
I GRADUATED TO VERY CHEAP ORIENTALS FROM ONE OF THOSE CRAZY DICOUNT STORES... A 9 X 12 FOR $79 KIND OF STORE.. THAT ORIENTAL PATTERN IS CAPABLE OF DEALING WITH RED WINE NOT IN TEH GLASS, - BUT BECAUSE THAT ORIENTAL PATTERN IS SO FORGIVING, GETS REALLLLLY DIRTY..
IT TOOK MANY YEARS AND MANY VACUUN CLEANERS LATER THAT I FINALLY BIT THE BULLET AND PUT DOWN THIS $5000 VINYL... OR WHATEVER IT IS...
THE REASON I MENTION THIS IS........ TWOFOLD.... TEH KENNELS NEED NEW CARPETING IN THE SLEEPING AREA-- WHICH I CAREFULLY PLANNED --- AS THE DOGS WALK AROUND THIER "STALLS" BEFORE CLIMBING TO THEIR SLEEPING LOFTS... THEY REMOVE A GREAT DEAL OF THE MUD...-AND WE DO VACUUM THEM ONCE IN A WHILE... BUT THEY ARE WORN OUT...
WE HAE A GREAT HUNK OF THICK CARPET IN THE "TRAINING ROOM" WHICH SHOULD NOT BE THERE.... IT WOULD BE SOOOOO MUCH MORE USEFUL TO HAVE VINYL LIKE THE HOUSE AND USE THAT CARPET TO COVER THE SLEEPING LOFTS.
ONE MORE SMALL WHY?? LOOK AT THE ELBOWS OF THE PUPS FORM GERMANY... THEY ARE DEVOID OF HAIR... ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL PUPS, BUT THEY DID NOT GROW UP ON FLUFFY CARPETS IN THEIR SLEEPING QUARTERS...
I DON'T THINK WE HAVE ONE BALD ELBOW ON TEH PLACE...( BUT YOU KNOW... I AM SAYING THAT BLIND--- I HAVE NOT LOOKED )

AS FOR THE INTERNET COMMENTS ABOUT MY QUESTIONING WHO BRINGS WHAT DOG TO CRAZY ACRES... I DON'T CARE IF IT IS A GOLD PLATED SEEING EYE DOG, THERE IS A HUGE SAFTEY ISSUE WHICH MUST BE ADDRESSED BEFORE ANYONE EVEN THINKS OF COMING THU THAT GATE WITH ANY DOG. MINE MAY BE PERFECTLY BEHAVED SERVICE DOGS IN HARNESS, BUT THEY ARE NOT IN HARNESS HERE- AND THEY ARE REGUALR DOGS- THEY JUST LOVE TEH CHASE AND CHEW...
AND.... THEY ARE BIG....
BY THE WAY, I DO THINK SEEING EYE DOGS ARE GOLD PLATED---

THE TV IS BOASTING SOME SHOW ABOUT WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE APPROACHED BY A SHARK... YOU BANG THEM IN THE NOSE WITH YOUR FIST. I HAVE AN EVEN BETTER IDEA--- STAY OUT OF THE WATER WHERE THERE MIGHT BE SHARKS.

Good morning, Carlene.
Thank you for sharing the program that offers eye exams for service animals in May (ACVO/StokesRx National Service Animal Eye Screening program). I wanted to send you a quick note that the specialist said Bellow’s eyes look great; he has the best eyes he’s seen in a Great Dane. A tribute to careful breeding no doubt! Initially, Bellow wasn’t too keen on having 2 strangers peering so closely into his eyes; he tried to make himself a my lap dog on the sofa that was in the exam room. But we worked through it. Below is a picture of Bellow wearing a striped handkerchief from the National screening. He is such a handsome boy.
Other fun adventures in May:
We attended our 1st concert together, walked on the beach and gone for short hikes without the help of a 2-legged friend. I have really missed the relaxing quiet hikes. There is a picture below that shows Bellow standing by a concrete bench the says “New Beginnings”. I haven’t been able to walk this trail alone in years and has been a personal goal of mine to make it to the bench before I was matched with Bellow. Carlene, thank you for your vision for SDP and helping me reach that goal. There are not words to describe what being able to reach that bench with only Bellow’s help meant so much to me. Thank you for all you do.
