"play music to cats" and it /she does... i own that album on my machine and i can not find it but it/she is doing well---- now with that majic box on my desk ( thanks to a CP ....)--l have to be careful what i wish for... i guess that is true, alexa or not...--as a kid, and the bit of "you get 3 wishes" my first was always to get an unending supply of wishes.... fir a while i thoufght my first should be "i'd like 10 more wishes" but even at the age of 10 i realized i'd never keep track right, get distracted at #9 and be done...
megan and steve get back today... from the conference on PTSD.. i am anxious to see what they learned.. i am a believer in fresh air vs "CIRCLE SITTING" ---- one of the biggest things our dogs do is to change the focus... " stop everything ---you need to wait on me and take me outside or i will mess up your floor" is, in a nutshell a very valid benefit... in my opinion...
i know the joy when after 5 minutes of sniffing,your dog finally finds a spot, makes a deposit, which you bend over , bag and throw away putting your immediate worlld organized and in proper perspective.
my ultimate goal is to have a dog be potty traineed to a pee pee pad so you can spread that in a hotel bathroom.. or airport... with a "here-- now go" suggestion... i honestly don' know how many dogs i would own if i had to walk them all on a leash.... i admire the people up and down boxford road, out in the freeing cold, standing 1/2 in the street while thier dog sniffs a bush..... i have suggested to many recipients and other dog people..that putting up a 10 x 10 square fenced area adjacient to a door-- or better yet.. a doggie door... i have a friend who's doggie door is thru a kitchen cabinet-- so the flap to the outside can be somewhat controlled by leaving the cabinet door open or shut. it can even be insuated to deal with heat losss better...

mo...had a strange bunch of goop drop from her mouth yesterday,, if i had noit had bryan look in her mouth and find her screwed up teethi might have been more worried... horses can not throw up... what goes down has only one way out... so it has to have come from her mouth... remember when she first got here , she had some choking problem-- which i think bryan cured by pumping a gallon of mineral oil down her thrioat.. so i wasn't too worried.. the reaction of our vounteers was interesting..put her in a stall because she looks normal there...and all will return to normal...-- welllllll... the last thing you want to do with a horse who might not survive a choking... is to put them in a stall... it may sound crass but.... it is very like building a boat inthe cellar-- there might be an 1800 pound lump on the floor that would not fit out the door. in my youth we had that rpoblem once-- fortunately it was winter then.. and only 1000 pounds of frozen lump... requiring only one wall to be removed...

as for audrey-- and her hot "faucet" her temp is down 102.3 --- she was ruuning a temp 103.9 and we started antibiotic on geore's advice... and fluid got started --even tho we did not have any idea whether she was drinking or not... she doesn't feel good.... my mind immediately goes to ??? bloat???? but that usually does not have a temp associated with it... -- the possibility of bloat must never be ignored it would be perfectly possibly for her to have bloat and a sore milk gland .. this is where experience comes in... bloat is life threatening immediately... mastitis ain't great either... but don't rush to the more familiar problem first... i have to razz george here... i have gone in to see him with a dog and a broken toenail - he will treat that fine... but then he will run thru all the things in his head that could have made the toenail break and you leave worried that iw might have been cancer of the shoulder tha somehow broke the toenail... his explination is that if you tell an owner all the things that could be wrong, the y willbe relieved to have it be onlly a normal broken toenail.-- somewhere in george;'s youth someone must have been very angry that he didn't tell them and in fact it was a terrible diagnosis. i love george, but there are times i have to say "here it comes" and argue probability with him...
sometimes education is a terrible burden. i don't want to hear it...

now on the topic of electricity-- i am told some of the mbta bunch are reading this and teh guy who repaired the elevator got shocked in the process of repair...and had no problem... i bet he toucned and jumped back instantly... i watched the video of my encounter and with bentley latched onto my wrist it looks like i was getting shocked 3 to 4 seconds til bentley was all the way out. that is a loooonnnggg time .. makes me wonder alot of things like any guy who works on electricity should be wearing rubber boots, not wet sneakers... and at 79 i might be just a bit more fragile. maybe-- i have been around animals too long not to recognize that an animal with an ailment goes directly into someone's food chain..-- when you fall... you get back on your feet as quickly as you can and don't say a word... ( almost) -- so now i really do need the power steering in the tractor... and -- to grace's amusement, i have devised how to lift myself into the back hoe with the hyrolic lift of side stabelizer

and karl is due here to drag around heavy objects,,,like fallentrees and rubber mats into thetenner shed so the hay bags can be hung over the matts...-- and fallen trees.. on fences... across back driveway..
boy do we have next year's firewood in a huge tree in "A" fild-- tipped over by the roots-- probably 24" diameter...-- might necessitate a new chain saw... ( see my tirade about buying equipment for job specific chores)
