lotsa cut and paste... to remind us why we go thru all this.... after all... alot of the volungteers here are people who are retired and could easily be basking in the sun of some nursing home eating gruel.
the interdependency of people and objects is once again demonstrated by the roof on the donkey shed we are working on.. i had hoped to hold up the roof with a bunch of "A" shaped wood, but that just is not happening... the reason we are in pause mode... is that i can not carry 20 foot lumber on the roof of my car... the horse trailer is among the missing (?janine?) and the dump trailer is full.
took me the week to figure out the roof on the shed was not happening because i was hesitant to go to the dump without help in case the trailer didn't dump-- it has an electric lift which usually works... but if it does not i would have to unload the thing by hand... something i really no longer want to do... plus my friend at the dump would not like me to hold up his routien of getting cars and trucks in and out as fast as possible..-- ( the guy who told me he wanted me to stick around and show people how to back up a trailer)
I.E. TO BACK A TRAILER......
PUT YOUR HAND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STEERING WHEEL-- THAT IS THE DIRECTION THE TRAILER WILL GO... SO YOU START IT TURNING.... THEN YOU REVERSE AND CHASE IT.--- TRY IT... YOU WILL LIKE IT... IT IS EASY THAT WAY.
I HAVE ALOT OF TRAILER STORIES FOR ANOTHER DAY. LIKE HOW DO YOU DENT 2 TRAILERS AT ONCE? YOU RUN INTO ONE WITH THE OTHER. ( IN THE DRIVEWAY)...

update on Dash and scott's adventures . Our speaches will be kicking off next month as we will be traveling all over New York State telling our story as well as bringing awareness to PTSD and suicide prevention for Law Enforcement, corrections , first responders and Veterans alike. All this wouldn't be possible without Dash at my side at all times . We have become quite the team and Dash has become very popular all around New York State. In every speech I give I talk about how Dash chose me and what a great organization the Service Dog Project is . I know of a few people who have visited the farm after meeting Dash and I .
Lastly but very importantly I'd like to share something with you that has made me very proud of the work Dash and I have done as a team. US Congressman Brian Higgins of New York State recently flew a flag over the Nations Capital Building in Honor of what Dash and I do. This has made me speechless and again this wouldnt have been possible without Dash being at my side.
Thank you for all that you do and keep up the great work. We will be seeing you very soon. Take care and Dog bless .
Scott and Dash.
P.S. I am enclosing a picture of the certificate that was presented to me along with the flag that was flown. Feel free to share this email to all.

DAYS ONE AND TWO OF ROGER WILLIAMS UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW ORIENTATION ARE BEHIND US AND ASHER WANTS TO KNOW, "ARE WE LAW STUDENTS YET?!"
WE'VE MET OUR CLASS OF 2020, WE'VE BEEN INTRODUCED TO THE DIFFERENT ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES, WE'VE MET OUR PROFESSORS (THE TWO I MET TODAY SHOOK MY HAND AND SAID, "SO I KNOW THIS IS ASHER, BUT WHAT'S YOUR NAME?"), WE'VE RESERVED OUR SEATING IN CLASS, SO WE'RE JUST SO READY TO BE DONE WITH THESE LONG DAYS AND START CLASS FOR REAL!
ASHER'S BEEN EXTREMELY PATIENT AS HE LAYS NEXT TO ME FOR HOURS WHILE I TRY AND ABSORB ALL THIS INFORMATION BEING THROWN AT US. WE DRESSED UP FOR THE OATH OF PROFESSIONALISM AND RECEPTION LAST NIGHT---
HE'S STARTED A ROUTINE OF RUNNING IN SMALL CIRCLES AROUND ME WHEN I TELL HIM TO GO PLAY. HIS FAVORITE THING THOUGH IS WRESTLING WITH ME IN THE GRASS - I'M SURE I GET A FEW FUNNY LOOKS FROM PEOPLE WALKING BY WHEN I'M ON ALL FOURS IN THE GRASS PLAYING WITH ASHER AFTER A LONG SESSION, BUT I PREFER TO THINK THESE PEOPLE ARE JUST JEALOUS THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THEIR OWN PUP TO PLAY WITH ON CAMPUS. :) AFTER FEELING SO MENTALLY DRAINED, A LITTLE PLAYING IS THE PERFECT WAY TO RE-ENERGIZE!
TOMORROW WE'LL HAVE TO SKIP THE PLAY TIME FOR OUR THIRD AND FINAL DAY OF ORIENTATION - WE'LL DON THE BUSINESS ATTIRE (INCLUDING THE TIE, OF COURSE) ONE MORE TIME AS WE SPEND THE MORNING BACK IN THE APPELLATE COURTROOM AND THE AFTERNOON IN PROVIDENCE BEING INTRODUCED TO THE PUBLIC INTEREST LEGAL COMMUNITY UP THERE. FOR NOW, ASHER GETS TO CHILL FOR THE REST OF THE DAY WHILE I WORK ON FIRST ASSIGNMENTS FOR NEXT WEEK'S CLASSES. COME MONDAY, WE'LL BE LAW STUDENTS!
