MARCH 3 2016
NEXT PROBLEM-- JUST HOW PREGNANT IS PREGNANT-  GOT TO GET OUT AND GET UNDER( LIKE THE OLD FORDS??) BECAUSE OUR ONLY WARNING WILL BE MILK DEVELOPEMENT.... AND WHEN THAT STARTS-- IT COULD BE QUICK...THERE IS AN OLD FARMER BIT ABOUT NOT CONCERNED UNTIL YOU SEE MILK DRIPPING ON THE MARE'S BACK ANKLES...  I DON'T WANT TO WAIT THAT LONG...

CURRENT CONCEPT..... IN AN EFFORT TO GET MAUDE ON CAMERA...... WE HAVE A BUNCH  OF LUMBER- ALREADY PAID FOR AND NOT DELIVERD- FOR THE RUN IN SHED BEHIND THE ARENA..  WE COULD MAKE A BIG FOALING STALL  IN THE CORNER OF THE ARENA ENCOMPASING THE DOOR TO THE  HILL.. AND USE THE PLYWOOD AND T-111 TO BLOCK THE DOGS FROM TEH FOALING STALL...  HAVING HER ON CAMERA WOULD BE HELPFUL SO WE COULD MONITOR HER FROM THE HOUSE...

ANOTHER OPTION WOULD BE TO MOVE THE CAMERA FROM KENNEL 10 ACROSS TEH ALLEY TO THE STALL THEY ARE NOW IN...

THEN FIND A FEW BALES OF SRAW-- NOT ALL PLACES CARRY IT ANYMORE... BUT IT IS THE PREFERRED BEDDING FOR FOALING...- FOR YOU NEWCOMMERS.. HAY IS GREY/GREEN AND ROUGH--  FOR EATING..  STRAW IS YELLOW AND SLIPERY  FOR LYING AROUND IN-- BEFORE WOOD SHAVINGS BECAME SO PLENTIFUL, WE USED STRAW. WOOD SHAVINGS ARE BETTER FOR FLUID MANAGEMENT---AND LETS FACE IT... FOALING WILL INVOLVE FLUID MANAGEMENT... BUT WHERE IT IS A ONE TIME DEAL, WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE STRAW.  SHAVINGS STICK TO EVERYTHING.... AS IN EVERYTHING.....

AND THEN THERE IS LITTLE BUDDY---  GOING TO HAVE TO GET HIM NEUTERED PRETTY SOON  - PREFERABLY BEFORE FLY SEASON...

I HAD A SECOND  DONKEY STUD HERE ONCE-- AND HE WAS NOT HAPPY A A JENNY THAT HAD HER BABY IN HIS PASTURE, MY OLD STUD "DON-KEY" WAS ALWAYS VERY WELCOMING TO ALL NEW BABIES.... BUT THIS GUY HAD AN ATTITUDE WE HAD TO FIX QUICKLY  I ALWAYS WONDERED IF HE KNEW BY THE SMELL, THAT IT WAS NOT  SIRED BY HIM...

AT ANY RATE-- THEY ARE ANIMALS THAT SURVIVE VERY NICELY IN THE WILD- SO I EXPECT NO PROBLEMS- IT WOULD BE NICE TO BE ABLE TO CHECK ON HER.
COUPLE FACTS ABOUT DONKEYS--- THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE FASTEST ANIMAL OVER A 30 MILE COURSE--   IT IS THE 30 MILES THAT STOP THE REST OF THE  RACERS...
THEY AE ALSO NOT STUBBORN.. BUT VERY CAREFUL WHERE  THEY PUT THEIR FEET.  WHEN FRIGHTENED.. THEY STAND STILL  AS OPPOSED TO A HORSE WHO RUNS.
THEY ARE GREAT PETS- MORE LIKE DOGS THAN  HORSES...
******
FRENZY IS ON A LOW DOSE OF DURAMAX-- HE DOES YELP ONCE INA WHILE-- WHICH I CAN NOT FIGURE OUT...  HE RUNS LIKE A MAD DOG OUT IN THE FIELD-- AND PLAYS NORMALLY--  BUT EVERY ONCE IN A WHLE HE PADS AROUNDS SLOWLY WITH HIS HEAD LOWERED...  WHATEVER IT IS   I
HOPE IT GOES AWY.  WHATEVER  DURAMAX IS.. IT SEEMS TO WORK..( IT IS LIVER FLAVORED SO IT IS NOTA  HUMAN MED)
*****
OTHER THAN AN ODD CASE OF LOOSE STOOL, ALL IS NORMAL..
WE ARE STARTING TO LET THE DOGS INTO  "A" FIELD-- WHICH DOES HAVE A COMPOSTING  PILE OF MANURE.. WHICH THEY DOOOOO LIKE.

IS IT SPRING???  WAS THAT WINTER???

FINALLY ...  I RETURNED THE RED WAGON.. "BENNINGTON VEHICLE" TO WENDY WOODS FROM WHOM I BORROWED IT 3 YEARS AGO FOR THE CALENDAR SHOT WITH  THE  SANTA AND TEH  DOGS.  WE WENT WITHOUT THE POLE... SO NOW I HAVE TO GO BACK TODAY...  NOT A BIG DEAL--   THEY LIVE ABOUT 6 MILES AWAY.

Good afternoon Carlene
we were driving and noticed all the campaign signs that have been left on the side of the roads.  I got an idea to gather them and cut them up, they could be used for your pooper scoopers.  What size do you need and would you want them?

I COULD NOT THINK OF A BETTER USE FOR THEM...
