I THINK THAT WAS ONE OF MY MOST MEMORABLE EPISODES-TO HAVE SOMEONE BREAK DOWN IN TEARS BECAUSE SHE WAS NO LONGER STUCK IN A PARKING LOT BECAUSE THE DOG WE HAD JUST GIVEN HER HAD PROVIDED A "PORTABLE HANDRAIL".
IT DOESN'T SOUND MONUMENTAL.... BUT IT WAS.
THAT MAKES FOR OVER 100 DOGS "OUT THERE"
IT IS HARD WORK- FOR ALL OF US-- STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS-- SOMETIMES PEOPLE LOOSE TRACK OF WHAT GOES INTO PRODUCING A DOG... THE PILES OF DIRTY LAUNDRY...., THE SNOW TO BE SHOVELED... FLOORS TO BE SCRUBBED.... LAUNDRY TO BE FOLDED...NOT TERRIBLY GLAMEROUS UNTIL YOU SEE ONE OF OUR DOGS WORKING WELL--
THERE ARE OVER 100 GEORGES OUT THERE... BELLA AND GEORGE GET THE NOTICE OF THE PRESS BECAUSE THEY ARE SO CUTE !!!
AND SPEAKING OF OUR 2 SUPERSTARS... RACHAEL CALLED LAST NIGHT TO TELL ME--- BELLA AND GEORGE ARE GOING TO BE FLOWN TO CALIFORNIA TO FILM THE DOCTORS SHOW FOR AIRING IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS?
WHAT A TERRIFFIC EXPERIENCE FOR A KID..-- WELL .LET ME SAY EDUCATION . IT WILL SHOW HER THAT ALL THE GLAMOUR IS NOT REAL---- THAT THERE IS SUCH A THING AS LIFE OFF CAMERA- PERSONALITIES CHANGE IN THE SPOTLIGHT.
I REMEMBER--A MOVIE BEING SHOT IN HARVARD SQUARE-- IN THE SNOW--- IT WAS COLD-- I DON'T DO COLD WELL... AND WE STOOD AROUND FREEZING WHILE THE WHOLE THING GOT HELD UP WHILE THEY BROUGHT IN A SNOW MAKING MACHINE TO COVER UP THE DIRTY PILES OF PLOWED UP STREET SLUSH. -- I WAS A TOTAL OUTSIDER WITH MY CRATE OF CHICKENS....- THESE PEOPLE HAD BEEN LIVING IN CLOSE QUARTERS WITH EACH OTHER FOR A COUPLE MONTHS WORKING ON THE MOVIE...
THE MAIN ACTORS WERE GREAT-- THEY PUT UP WITH IT VERY PROFESSIONALLY- BUT THERE WERE A BUNCH OF UNDERSTUDIES- WHO WERE VERY WELL PAID-- WHO WERE NASTY-- AND ONE OF THE BIG NAMES OBSERVED AND SAID.... "TIME WOUNDS ALL HEELS" ---

We know you don't do Facebook, but here's the update we posted on Team Hunter & Wendy tonight. ~ Kelly & Andy
Hunter had a busy therapy day, so I'm (Kelly, Hunter & Wendy's mom) posting for him tonight. Hunter's dad sent me this picture, "Look Mom, no hands...on a rockerboard!" I guess he did weight shifibg side to side on it as well as holding his balance with it flat. That's pretty insane considering Hunter will be postop week 8 on Thursday!! He is doing amazing! Today during therapy he did a squat and got up from the floor with minimal help from his PT. And he walked 20 minutes on the treadmill with the harness on, but it was not supporting any of his weight. And the biggest thing he did today was another first since the surgery....steps with Wendy!❤ Look for videos of that to come! I love the first one because of Wendy tail! It wagged like crazy, she was so happy! They did great for the first time. Hunter was on the opposite side he normally uses, he had his PT, Pam's hand on the other side for a little extra support and Wendy just wanted to go with Hunter because of all her excitement! Hunter used the "one step, whoa" technique and talked Wendy through it. They made it about 30 ft, including 2 doorways...not bad for the first time! Hunter's got a long way to go, but this is a way for them to start as a team again, and be even better! Sorry for the rambling, but we are so proud of Hunter and his progress in such a short time, and Wendy and her patience and unconditional love for Hunter! She is the reason he is doing so well, getting him stronger before th e surgery and motivation for after the surgery!❤
YOU ARE RIGHT ----I DON'T DO FACEBOOK---IT IS BEYOND ME- I REMEMBER IN DAYS GONE BY.....SITTING AROUND TALKING TO PEOPLE- PASSING IDEAS AND FUNNY STORIES AROUND..LAUGHING AT SUBTLE CONCEPTS. THE BRITISH ARE VERY GOOD AT THAT. IN SCOTLAND WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A TV.. OR LIQUOR... CAN YOU IMAGINE A FUN PARTY WITH ONLY CONVERSATION??
LAUGHING IS GOOD... I DON'T NOTICE ANYONE LOOKNG AT THEIR CELL PHONE LAUGHING. THEY PUT THEIR HEAD DOWN AMD POKE AWAY AT THE SCREEN.. HARDLY EVEN A SMILE-- HOW DO THEY KNOW HOW THE PERSON ON THE OTHER END REACTED?
I HAVE HEARD FACEBOOKING HAS AFFECTED INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS --- WHICH COULD BE A GOOD THING--- MIGHT WIPE OUT TEENAGE PREGNANCY. I HAVE FOUND IT IS VERY LIKE MOST OF THE POLITICAL NEWS... IF YOU DON'T WATCH IT... NOTHING HAPPENS..
I KNOW MY FAVORITE EMAIL TO GET IS ONE WHERE SOMEONE TELLS ME THEY LAUGHED AND SPIT THIER COFFEE ALL OVER THE KEYBOARD BECAUSE OF SOME CONCEPT IN THE DAILY DOGGIE.
