SARGE WAS NEUTERED YESTERDAY--THE VET SAID IT WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT NEUTER  JOB SHE HAD EVER DONE  ---4 HOURS---  HE HAD AN UNDESCENDED TESTICLE AND SHE HAD TO GO FIND IT... OK-- NOW THE INTERESTING PART... MAYBE...   

SARGE IS  A BIG DOG---  PAM SAID HE WAS THE RUNT of  his litter- UNDERWEIGHT-- 

THEN pam SAID   HER WHITE DOG "WHIT"--- WAS THE RUNT OF HIS LITTER TOO- AND HE HAD A 2 HOUR NEUTERING BECAUSE OF AN UNDESCENDED TESTICLE-- DO WE HAVE ANY OTHERS undescended????  YES-- PERRY--  who was born at "horse tracy's "so we don't know for  absolute sure except  we made note that he was one of the smaller pups when we got him.  could be....

keeping in  mind i have  ZERO medical knowledge on which to build.....  but a bit of curiosity led me to wonder--- if the sperm lives for another 48-72 hours ( i know that---- we have done the warm pocket bit under our microscope)--- if one of those sperm is just a slow swimmer and was 3 days late in finding an egg to fertilize  -   could that explain the difference in size  within one litter?  2 or 3 days is a long time in a 63 day gestation period...

could that explain a runt- and is there some relationship between runt and undescended??

could we get a government grant to study this???

my fishing vest is working well-- now when the phone rings, it still takes me a while to find it. but at least it saves walking around because i know it is on me somewhere in one of those pockets.

dinner last night with gwen and janine- always fun-- they both have an abiity to analyze the impossible-- like how to get on a commuter subway with a rolling briefcase.... or when to have coffee relating to the time it takes  the train to arrive at the next ladies room..

gwen and husband are leaving for north carolina--  she is going to continue her job here  which has something to do with boston hospitals and computers-- but since she never has to sit eyeball to eyeball with anyone,  she can do it from north carolina.  it is a new world.

colby ( grandson ) was with us also-- he wondered why teachers make him write long papers which they then have  to read.  gwen chimed in saying she gets reports from well paid individuals and then as to correct the spelling and grammer.

  with my spelling abilities, that hit a bit close to home.. she also said she passes this dd on to a judge friend who actually reads the thing.

Your problem with brandy and Benadryl is that Nyquil actually has a different antihistamine: doxylamine. According to Wikipedia, it's not as strong an anti-allergy medication as diphenhydramine (Benadryl), but it's an even more powerful sedative than phenobarbital. In other words, there's really no (non-prescription) substitute for Nyquil for that "so you can rest" knock-out!

A GOOD VENTING ----FROM LYNNE --

Would I part with Wilamena M. Pants? Never! She is my lifeline. But, all of the BELOW  is true. Having a Service Dog is a tremendous commitment. However, the return is beyond words for someone like myself who relies on their dog. That's why Service Dog Fraud is such a thorn in my side and the reason for the post.

To anyone who wants to slap a Service Dog vest on your dog to fly for free or in the cabin versus in a crate or to take your dog somewhere with you for "fun" I have couple things to say to you:

1: You want my access? Do you also want my disability?

2: Do not just take "Fluffy" on that flight or to that hospital or that fun excursion. No! Take Fluffy EVERYWHERE! 24x7, 365 days a year. Rain or shine. Snow, Nor'easter, hurricane. Load and unload Fluffy in your car during a blizzard. Take fluffy out during that nor'easter. Stand with Fluffy in the pouring rain while Fluffy decides she really doesn't want to pee just there. Oh, that's right, you're also doing this during dinner that you're dressed rather nicely for. 

Take the car that used to be yours and devote it to her because you'll need to carry enough supplies to care for Fluffy in an emergency. Remember, Fluffy is with you 24x7, 365. Food, water, first aid, bedding, extra vest, harness, leashes, etc. Oh, do you have a date tonight? Better get Fluffy brushed! Because Fluffy doesn't stay home. She'll be joining you. Oh, and you'll need to bring something for her to lay on during your date. Hope it goes with your outfit.

 Long day? Better figure out food and bathroom breaks. Oh, and Fluffy doesn't stay in the car either. She is by your side. So the next time you think you're going to be clever and slap a service dog vest on your dog to skirt some rule, think about all of this. Those of us who actually rely on our dogs don't get to,pick and choose when we take our dogs with us. When its convenient and when it's not. If your Dog is NOT a Service Dog and you are NOT disabled, Please don't be part of the problem. Please don't put a service dog vest on your dog. Please don't commit fraud. Please think of all of the above and if you would want to do it including having my disability.

Good morning!

I just wanted to thank you for sending the Daily Doggie out to us via email!! I visit "my pups" every day but didn't always take the time to go to the Daily Doggie.  I always enjoyed it when I read it, just no consistency on my part. I work in an operating room and some of my coworkers now follow on explore, one has her own Great Dane so she appreciates my stories. Others have absolutely no idea WHY I would be so interested and converse about the pups like they are mine.....your dogs are so amazing with the people they are paired with giving them their lives back...but they also serve to lower my blood pressure just watching them, make me laugh at their antics and I am filled with awe at how you all interact with them!! The Service Dog Project creates peace in my head and heart when there is soo much evil and heartache becoming the norm in our world. THANK YOU!!!
