all of a sudden this impending octoberfest is real-- oct 2-10 apparently will be involved...
i did order portapotties.. what else could we need???

including more plces to hang out and just sit around to play with the dogs.
to that end i will call the tree service today and get smoe more tree stumps-- we have plenty of heavy duty planks...
this will help with the puppy hill sitting and pond walking areas...
i rode around with shelia yesterday figuring out where we needed signs-- these people coming are not necessarily farm oriented people and may not realize when you open a gate shut it. kind of thing.
and that step out of the feed room with the 3"lip is n ankle breaker if ever there was one... we all know it... but all these visiters will not..
... we can try and label some things... but there is no way we can label all the dangerous things around here.
and just to stay orderly- we need a photo release along with a please call 911 if necessary and i will not sue anyone.... from everyone on the property-
i don't know how to keep track except to do what they do in iran... dunk their little finger in purple ink.
several have asked if they need to bring tools--- some are apparently planning to work... which means we should have some chores lined up-- the most obvious would be to paint... not knowing what skills these people have , i can not just bash into carpentry work... there is another ongoing chore of fence repair... like even replacing some rails on the split rail fence.

i understand dealing withthe ones we sign from this office-- but the rest???? and how much??? i know we had some trouble with paypal and had to adjust the price to deal with the fact that paypal seems stuck on charging a penny sales tax and $5 shipping regardless of what you order...
so we slid numbers around to try and deal... don't bother to tell us about it... they don't all match exactly.
reports are coming in that it is a very funny rendition of the foundation of the service dog project.
problem is there is not day goes by that somethgn doesn't happen that could add another chapter to any book.

this 5pm mail call is living a life of it's own..
what started as a simple "bailey go get the mail basket"
has become "you are offering me that as a reward for getting the basket? i'll just dump it"
so i got better ( canned ) treat-- and that worked for a while- until bailey started just leaving with the basket and expecting a sec ond treat t ogo get it again.
and then the whoopie pie caper where 2 nameless volunteers opened a case of whoopie pies before mail call-- and got caught with white fuzz n their upper lips-- only to be judged in court by judge c.white.
and now lars is missing-- feared kidnapped-- lars is a stuffed chew toy that some of the cp's have chosen as a faux puppy
the creative things that these cp's send is delightful "sh#T happens" in 55 different languages and nicely drawn script,
strange comments on the 3 x 6 cardboard sh#t pickers cheers up volunteer pickers...--i ncluding burma shave riddles.
