july 16 2021

the tipi and it's voluminous set of instructions.  has arrived..  and i whipped right thru them all to the last section ?problems you will have -- #1 listening to some self proposed expert who did not read all the exact details.  and has put up one before- (and it had wrinkles.. a horrible sin in indian homesmanship). bingo  on that  one.--------- so i have gone back.. and they do recommend a spray of "mildew stop".  before you put it up-- so we need to pick a nice day and spread it on the grass  between teh guest house and pond.
it has to be orgqinzed to be ready to hoist the lift pole when tehre is a group here to help....  that will weigh about 85 pounds they say...-- object being to lay it out.. spray. let dry then wrap and tie it very specifically to the heaviest pole -  a bunch of people then lift it to the last place in the  array of poles-- and unwrap it... sounds simple...

i am reminded--- by gladys laubin's book on tipi's-- that when you enter a tipi  there is  a central fireplace , you-- politrely---- go to the left.... where tucked under the tipi is teh days firewood-- around back-- there is slightly more headroom because teh tipi is not a cone .... is teh sitting  area. . and aroungd teh circle gets you to the kitchen equipment which is to the right of the door.--- a clever way of cleaning off your feet in one specific area.

i doubt we have a fire in this one.  14' is bare minimun for fire....  -- i did have a 27 foot one which had a fire going most of teh time... this tipi is to provide  a shaded area to enjoy the pups..... not sure. if  stumps will work as seats....otherwise ... floor sitiing....

Dear Carlene,
I am one of those silent CP's that have followed you off and on since you started. Use to be that I would wonder what was going on at Crazy Acres, pop in the odd time to catch up with the goings on. It was May's litter and the overnighters that graduated me to an everyday visitor. The care that Claire and the other young girl took with Mom and Pups was remarkable. But you are all remarkable. What you have managed to put together with your vision is over the top remarkable. Allowing us to come into your home, not only do you care for the animals but you take care of all of us too. Thank you can never be enough.
The doggie daily (what a wonderful way to start one's day) and mail call are so much fun and the reason for sending this email. With the talk of setting up a brush for the animals, a recent fun video shown to me had to make it's way to you. I hope it makes you smile and laugh, love seeing you that way, and love hearing you sing.
Thanks for all you do and Thank you for you❤️

i ain't goin' no where--- but you may have noticed...... i have officially retired to  diddling in general. (please note.i am not dead yet....) --tipi's and welding , and maybe a horse instead of a golf cart????  lynn is doing a fantastic job----and remembers things reallllly well... which i do not. however...... if i notice something......and  i can remember it  long enough to tell her, we ought to blossom  very nicely..... like. volunteers should not fold laundry in teh cellar when they could do it on teh first floor and play with/watch  pups at the same time.....or... a really big mystery..... just where does teh shower water go from that shower  stall. in teh rest room in th e laundry....---- we put in that long ago so that we could wash great danes indoors-- and somehow hooking up the drain got ?forgotten?   so sometimes when you.   wash a dog there-- which we hardly ever do... sometimes... just sometimes there is a splashing noise.. every 7 years we get inspired to look down that hole-- but it is dark down there.   danes hardly ever need washing that can not be done outside.. bless teh waterless shampoo... a wet rag... done !!  now that i think of it. floor drains are not in lynns job descritpton --- those things wil be mine, buds,  or some yet to be determined retired person who knows  how to do "stuff"  until i either forget it or find someone else who could crawl down that hole...

there  are soooooo many details to running crazy acres farm that i can not begin to list. a job description for it.....like how to keep the goats off teh hay???---  or what to do with that neighbor's patio chunks of concrete... wonderful stuff... but no two are teh same size .. or even rectangular....but much more ffun than which pup has green goo in their nose...
