sept 10 2020

Well that certainly created an uproar , With a few interesting details .

firstly I had so many recipients send Me an email then it took me an hour to read them all which was fine I enjoyed it …

Secondly I had an awful lot of emails from Shelly say older people who all admit they hate it they hate Facebook and won't go near it ….so I'm not alone on that one .

Thirdly there were quite a few people who said they support service dog project and very much enjoy hearing about where the dogs have gone and what they're doing ..

so the uproar managed to bring a few things to the surface namely old people don't like Facebook and  these dogs have literally been raised by hundreds of camera people who to some degree have some expectation that recipients will keep them updated .

It's also obvious that some recipients don't read the daily doggy which is not surprising so the easiest way out of that is for me to send out an email to all the recipients explaining about I don't do Facebook and how all  these shatter pons supporters do you like to hear progress reports and I don't think that's an unreasonable request .

moving on

amazingly the bids on the quilt have surpassed the  autographed  Wayne Gretzky LA number 99 shirt …   it is a beautiful quilt far better than anything I could possibly own here .  We have a super high rate automatic demolition .

which brings up the flags decorating the driveway ..they are wonderfully cheerful took a lot of time to be evenly spaced -- Some over the chicken coop roof lining both sides the driveway .

to be totally installed and supported by volunteers … looks wonderful I just hope Gemini shows the proper respect don't hold your breath ..

puppies doing very well getting outside… in prep for the virtual dog fest  run    .  They eat outside now….  We have set up a fence so they   Leave the kitchen and are aimed at the front door they are now waddling carefully down the three steps out until the hot top area where we do set up their individual bowls . then about 6 people try and keep them one to a bowl . I can see we're having trouble with the 10 foot whatever it is during this puppy management process .

when managing the whole group you cannot all call the puppies because the person in the front of the whole thing which was Pam with the food was calling puppy puppy puppy and most of them were going tord her but there were about 5 lagging back so that meant a second person was trying to encourage those five to go forward by calling puppy puppy puppy   at which time pam's group turn around and run the other way doesn't sound like much but yesterday's fiasco had three people calling puppies in three different areas not realizing that they were calling the whole group backwards and forwards .. I have trouble teaching this to the people every time we have puppies .. you can't encourage a lagging puppy by calling it without calling the whole rest of the group is already gone by . if you think that's confusing think of the poor puppy trying to figure it out .

Htat puppy pen by the tea tent    is wonderful except in 90 % of the time it is in fullsun… so the better place to run them is  in the grassy  aarea by the little white tent…by th e driveway   ----seen over the chicken coop  roof ..

How we are going to get people to swap cameras around for the virtual dog fest , I do not know … yet…  but I am thinking…

I have a lot of thinking to do about that dogfest project ---I have a lot of ideas , but stringing them all together taking into consideration available volunteers cameras microphones and other animals .is a challenge   -- it will probably be as organized as Mail call -- would certainly doesn't have a very strict schedule ,  we try.

Lynn should be arriving a few days after dogfest at which time everything should be running very smoothly .. ha !

well at least maybe all construction will be over with ..

on the topic of contracts—particularly about the breeding dogs…  long ago I decided if a person’s mental   handshake was not enough, a piece of paper was not going to help – some people are as good as their word…   verbal or printed..   most people with our breeding dogs are wonderful..    sometimes these people are like “ships That pass in the night “..

I called the person Who has Sir Richard she left him here for an hour while I looked  him over….and came and picked him up after her appointments I didn't see her to tell her that I want to go ahead with him but I probably ought to do that today  . It's another three or four days before We need his services .

I know we tried to breed him Before he was old enough .. and then we gave him one shot As backup dog with may and he worked fine . meaning that if we ever use any dog from that litter for breathing, we will have to do A DNA test to figure out who the father was .

Unless we came up with a study that was not related to either possible father ..this stuff gets complicated..

UPDATE FROM EVE AND SERVICE DOG FINN:
(WRITTEN BY EVE'S MOM)

FIRST DAY OF 7TH GRADE! IT WAS ALSO THE FIRST “BLENDED LEARNING” DAY WHERE EVE & FINN ATTEND IN BUILDING (JUST 1/2 DAY THIS YEAR TO ACCOMMODATE FOR COVID SAFETY) FOR PE, ART, MUSIC & STEM. IT WAS A GREAT DAY.
I HELP OUT IN THE OFFICE ON TUESDAYS AS WELL SO I CAN TELL YOU MY 2 FAVORITE HIGHLIGHTS OF HER DAY.... WHILE SHE WAITED FOR ME SHE TOOK FINN’S VEST OFF SO HE COULD GET A LITTLE EXTRA LOVE.... HER PRINCIPAL NOTICED BUT ASKED TO BE SURE IT WAS OK TO PET & THAT FINN WAS OFF DUTY, WHEN SHE DID SHE SPELLED F.I.N.N. AND WHILE I WAS NOT RIGHT THERE WHEN I RETURNED SHE INFORMED ME FINN COULD SPELL BECAUSE AS SOON AS SHE SPELLED HIS NAME HE JUMPED UP AND CAME RIGHT OVER FOR HIS SCRATCHES!! ** EDITED TO ADD... THE THING IS WE NEVER SPELL FINN’S NAME AT HOME LOL**
NEXT EVE WAS TALKING TO A GROUP WITH A FEW NEW KIDS AND TELLING THEM ALL ABOUT FINN AND ANSWERING THEIR QUESTIONS. WHEN SHE FINISHED FINN TOPPED IT ALL OFF BY GIVING HER 2 GENTLE KISSES AS IF SAYING “THANKS FOR SAYING ALL THOSE NICE THINGS ABOUT ME...I LOVE YOU TOO EVE!”

Last week I took a very bad fall, but thanks to Garnet and her ability to know just how to break my fall, I have lots of colorful bruises but not a broken elbow!  Garnet positioned herself at an angle at my side and gently broke my fall.  She is such an angel and always has my back! She never leaves my side and just seems to know when I’m wobbly and having a particularly challenging day.  These dogs are amazing and the work SDP does keeps so many moving, and living a better quality of life.
When I had to go to the hospital for X-rays, Garnet waited patiently against a far wall, but always keeping a watchful eye on me.
Again thank you to SDP for such a life changing gift.  karen

I have always felt that these dogs belonged to the entire SDP nation and that I have an obligation to let everyone see how they are being taken care of throughout their hopefully long lives.  My husband and I are honored that you allowed these very special dogs to come live with us and trusted we would give them a safe, loving home.  We strive every day to do just that.

Good morning Carlene, Daisy has been doing great! This past Friday night, she woke us up a few times starting at midnight. It was totally out of character but she had a lot to drink before bed so OK. At 3 am, after her third unproductive trip outside to relieve herself, a wet area in the carpet was visible. It wasn’t what you might think... Thank goodness, due to her awareness of her surroundings and persistence, we were able to identify a leaky valve and turn the water off preventing major damage. Way to go Daisy! And thank you SDP!  jen
