WALTER-- IS TEH BIGEST NEWS- from megan...
his fever is down he’s eating small amounts for me and off IV fluids so they let me take him home tonight !! Tick panel came back negative . Waiting on all the cultures they did that will be a few days
WALTER HAS BEEN VERY SICK WITH A COMBINATION OF AILMENTS THAT TOOK A TURN FOR THE WORSE WHEN MEGAN WAS GONE ON VAcation FOR A WEEK... HE IS SO VERY ATTACHED TO MEGAN-- BUT MISSING HER WOULD NOT MAKE HIS TEMP RISE-- SO HE HAS SOME THINGS GOING ON... AND LANDED AT TEH MASS VET EMERGENCY ON 128 WHERE THEY ARE EQUIPPED TO DO MOST EVERYTHING... SO AFTER A DAY OF MEGAN FRYING STEAK, ROASTING CHICKEN AND BOILING CHICKEN LIVERS, HE IS EATING AGAIN... and at home-- i think she is to take him back again today and just has him overnight.
*****
and then there is the poo picking program-- this started so that people who could not afford to buy chicken bricks coulod stay involved by cutting up their cereal boxes 3" x 6" so they fit in our back pockets-- that morphed into 4 cardboards together with a grocery bag as a perfect poo picker packet -- which worked, but was boring... so people began putting funny sayings on some-- which led to decorating them for cheerful poo picking- which lead to haveing soem of these peopel in aqdult day care centers decoraing them for us-- so we have fancy/cheerful poo pickers...
many camera people have sent us crayons, stamps and stickers which judy uses to entertain some of these day care centers we go to... and we get surproses.... my favorite is teh "this is an origional robert alan design"-- you never know.....
judy does not miss a chance to give it the personal touch... and sent this...
Good morning!
This is Judy Connors from SDP. I certainly hope I am getting to the right person. I so enjoy looking at the hard work that you put into decorating the poo pickers. They are artistic and humorous. While visiting adult day care centers and assisted living, I bring some along to share with the residents before we begin our project with them. The pickers they produce have stickers and stamps and they so enjoy it.
Thank you again, they certainly bring a smile to many faces.
Have a great day,
judy
and got back.....
Dear Judy,
You have just made my day…maybe my week! Thank you!
I do have fun with the poo pickers and I hoped that someone would get a laugh from them, but I never expected anyone to take the time to contact me (or to ever see an email with “poo pickers” in the subject line ๐). You are so kind! I have lots of cardboard waiting to be cut and decorated so I’ll be sending more soon.
What you and Carlene are doing with the day care and assisted living is so wonderful! I am amazed by all you do for the community.
Thank you again,
Beth (Biobc)

Dear Carlene,
I struggle to put in to words just how much Bumble’s partnership means to me so forgive me if I ramble.
He and I came home on February 13. I was a bundle of nerves and hoping I would do right by him. I had no doubt he would be great but knew I needed to work hard to train myself. That first morning home I picked up bumble’s red vest. He stepped right in and off we went. Loading up presented challenges to the point where we even went to car dealerships to see if my car was the issue. I decided to keep my Outback and persevere. Finally he decided that loading up through the back passenger door was a breeze so we ran with it. Now he flawlessly does it no matter how many times a day I ask, which can be a dozen training locations on a day when I’m strong enough.
This boy is miraculous. That is the best word to discribe what he has done for and means to me. He and I train about 4 to 5 hours daily. He walks in step with me and only hesitated if he perceives a threat - like the robot at Stop n Shop, the dreaded Marty. So we worked and walked on. It was like shampoo. Wash, rinse, repeat. We do that with everything he is scared of until he realizes he’s safe due to repetition and reassurance. The trust we have in eachother is unbelievable. He catches and braces me just like the trainers taught him. It still amazes me every time.
Before Bumble I had become trapped in my bed due to both physical and mental pain. He has changed me as a person. No more hiding and wallowing. We are out and about almost every day. I know rest days are allowed but he gets noticeably sad if he’s not working. He has taught me more about myself in 2 months than I had learned in 48 years. Together we are unstoppable.
Thank you all very much for this incredible partner. I can honestly say my life is a beautiful thing now. Two months ago those words never would have come from me. There’s no looking back now. Bumble and I will just walk on.
Sincerely,
Scott Clements

Hello Carlene.
I am so proud of Riz,, I could pop! We went into DC today to practice riding the Metro. She handled the cacophony of city sounds like a pro. We passed jack hammers, honking taxis, flapping banners, hoarders of screaming 8th grade girls on tour, yelling street vendors, and blowing ground vents - she walked on as if this was something she had done everyday....a service dog that is confident in their work has a stride that is truly beautiful to behold and that was Riz today! She also learned to ride the underground metro and was only a little unsure of herself - by the 4th time she had it. Since she has already been riding the train, she took to the metro right away.
When you think of the perspective that she was on Crazy Acres just three short weeks ago, it is really unbelievable how she has progressed in her advanced skills!
As always, thank you for taking a chance on us!
Heidi
