I HAVE NOT OPENED THE NEW CHICKEN   BOARD 

YES-- I AM BEHIND SCHEDULE---- BUT I HAVE STARTED PLANNING FOR THE NEW WASHER... 

WHIHC I WILL BUY(ABOUT 7000).. AND THE DRYER MAY HAVE TO COME OUT OF THE FUN FUND.....( ABOUT 3000)

I WAS ALL SET FOR ...VENTING  TODAY... BECAUSE YESTERDAY I WAS VERY UPSET ON SEVERAL SCORES...

BUT FRANKLY I DON'T HAVE TIME-- AND I KNOW BY THE TIME I HAVE TIME I WILL HAVE FORGOTTEN  WHATEVER IT WAS.

IT BASICALLY HAD TO DO WITH 2 PEOPLE MAKING DECISION WELL BEYOND  THEIR "JOB DESCRIPTIONS".

THIS  SDP    IS A HUGE PUZZLE-- LIKE THE PUZZLE OF BAILEY IN THE TREE... AND IF YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN PIECES OF THE WHITE CAT, YOU CAN NOT BE MESSING ABOUT TRYING TO ARRAINGE THEM IN THE TOP OF THE  TREE.

I QUICKLY NEED TO ADDRESS THE E-COLLAR TOPIC I MENTIONED IN AN DD   ....-- I GOT THIS EMAIL FROM A CONCERNED CP.

IF "E-COLLAR" MEANS "ELECTRONIC COLLAR," PLEASE DON'T GET ONE FOR ANDREW OR ANYONE ELSE.  THEY ARE HORRIBLE THINGS AND VERY CRUEL.  WOULD YOU LIKE PRONGS POKING IN YOUR THROAT?  TRY WEARING ONE AND SEE HOW YOU FEEL.

I DEFER TO YOUR JUDGEMENT IN MOST THINGS RELATING TO ANIMALS, BUT NOT THIS.  THERE HAS TO BE ANOTHER SOLUTION TO DOGS AND HENS.

 THEY CERTAINLY COULD BE HORRIBLE THINGS... AND YES,, I HAVE TRIED IT ON ME- SO I KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE- IT IS NOT NICE.-- ( REMEMBER I LET MY DAUGHTER TOUCH AN ELECTREC FENCE AFTER I HAD TOLD HER NOT TO--IT IS IN HER BOOK DOGS AND DONKEYS)

 BUT INTHE HANDS OF A RESPONSIBLE TRAINER... WHICH I THINK I AM... THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE.  PERSONALLY- ALTHO I HAVE 3 OR 4 ACQUIRED OVER THE AGES... I HAVE USED IT ONLY  ONCE-- ON A DOBERMAN BELONGING TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO WAS KILLING ALL THE NEIGHBORHOOD CATS...  I HAD HIM HERE FOR A FEW DAYS - WEARING A "DUMMY COLLAR" TO GET USED TO IT.. THEN I PUT ON THE REAL ONE--TURNED IT UP TO MEDIUM HIGH- AND LET THE CAT OUT... HE  WENT FOR THE CAT.. AND JUST AS HE OPENED HIS MOUTH OVER TH CAT, I PUSHED THE BUTTON... HE FLIPPED OVER BACKWARDS WITH THE ONE JOLT. THEN STOOD UP AND WONDERED WHY THAT HAPPENED---LEAVING HIM WITH THE CONCLUSION THT THE CAT DID  IT... AND NEVER WENT NEAR A CAT AGAIN.. HIS OWNER SAID HE WOULD NOT EVEN STAY IN THE ROOM WITH A CAT.

THE OTHER TIME I HAVE SEEN IT USED- WAS CESAR-- FACED WITH A DOG WHO CHASED CARS AND HAD THE ANNOYING HABIT OF PUTTING HIMSELF SLIGHTLY IN FRONT OF THE CAR...AND WAS GOING TO GET KILLED-   HE WAS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT TO USE IT... AND HE MUST HAVE DONE IT RIGHT BECASUE THEY THEN SHOWED  THE DOG QUIETLY SITTING WATCHING CARS GO BY.

THE ONE I HAVE CAN BE TURNED UP OR DOWN AND TURNED DOWN IT IS MORE OF A VIBRATION-- WHICH I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT I WOULD USE WITHA DEAF DOG.. BUT NEVER GOT ROUND TO TEACHING THE DOG WHAT THE VIBRATION MEANT.  LIKE LOOKK FOR ME....  AND I HAVE ONE SPECIFICALLY VIBRATION ONLY... I THINK IT IS STILL IN THE WRAPER..  BUT I SHOULD TEACH ARIOT WHAT IT MEANS... 

 FOR THE DOBERMAN AND THE CAT... AND THE CAR CHASING DOG-- THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE. I CAN NOT IMAGING EVER PUSHING THE BUTTON TWICE....IF YOU DID-- THAT WOULD BE  CRUEL-- BUT ONE SMACK IS EDUCATIONAL  . IF THERE IS A BETTER TRAINING DEVICE  ... YOU BETTER INVENT IT.

I AM ONE THAT BELIEVES "TIME OUT" FOR KIDS  IS FAR MORE INJURIOUS THAN ONE QUICK SHORT PUNISNMENT.-- OH I CAN NOT WAIT TO BE TOLD ABOUT THAT ONE...

BUT I WATCH MOMMY ANIMALS..  THIER CORRECTIOS ARE QUICK AND SHORT...  AND EFFECTIVE.

lauren needs a hand as a freshman at college-- and we have a volunteer with a best friend at that school !!!

hopefully a good start...  ..

SINCE I WROTE THAT WE HAVE HAD  AN MD AND FAMILY  IN BURLINGTON PLUS SOME MORE KIDS IN THAT SCHOOL... SO I THINK WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO HELPING HER...  KIDS HER OWN AGE ARE A GENERIC SUGGESTION--- ANYONE ELSE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE SOME SERIOUS CREDENTIALS...

We wanted to send a quick message to keep you updated on Harry's world. He is as sweet as can be(of course). We have been working on basics that we got a bit to comfortable with and I am  so thankful for not only the gift you have given me but also for the help that Megan gives and how wonderful it is that she is such a great trainer but also resource and support after you leave. Like Renee and Lynne said there is always training going on and we are so thankful for the community and family that comes along with Sdp. We learn from each other and every day we grow together as a team. Every day I wake up with my Harry means it is a day we will get through. He met a woman with MS who could not believe how well behaved and trained he is and she is hopefully going to start following the cams too. I am proud if he brings more support and fans to sdp because it really is such an amazing program. I am sending a picture of Harry doing what he does best!

Hey Carlene!

Just wanted to give you an update on Bing and today's leg of our trip to Georgia. We anticipated Bing to crash when we got in the car after his puddle romp and bath, but he was not having it. He was quite vocal and upset about being in the soft kennel. It took about 45 minutes or so before his boisterous disgust subsided. Then it was like and switch and he was out! We forgot to grab dog food, so we made a pit stop to get some. I figured Bing would wake up, so he, Tony, and Brutus all got a busy bone...a hit for all. The next couple hours were better, and he was great at a potty pit stop, although he didn't go. But, he was awesome with the figure 8 rope and walked well. He slept most of the way thereafter...9 hours total, and pooped and peed upon arrival to the hotel. I'm praying no one barks and everyone sleeps. We have the remaining 10 hours to go tomorrow...

PS my boy Tony was absolutely perfect as always :)
