I HAD A PHONE CALL----
"HI THIS IS JANET-- REMEMBER ME???" (WRONG WAY TO START A CONVERSATION WITH ME)... WELL I DID FINALLY PUT IT ALL TOGETHER FOR A VERY STRANGE REASON... WAY BACK AFTER I HAD BEEN GOING TO CONFERENCES FOR A FEW YEARS, AND I HAD THUMPER- (THE NEARLY PERFECT DOG) I WANTED TO TAKE HIM TO THE CONFERENCE WITH ME-- AND HAD TO GET PERMISSSION FROM THE ADI ORGANIZERS TO BRING AN ENTACT MALE- I ASSUMED IT WAS JUST A FORMALITY- AND WAS TOLD NO...
WHEN I GOT THERE- A WOMAN INA WHEELCHAIR HAD A LOVELY GOLDEN-- REALLY PERSONABLE( THE DOG) AND THERE AMID ALL THE HAIR/FEATHERS ON HIS RUMP WERE THOSE 2 ROUND THINGS I HAD BEEN FORBIDDEN TO BRING... HE WAS A LOVELY DOG TO BE SURE--- SO WAS THUMPER- BUT ADI WAS UNWILLING TO TAKE A CHANCE ON A BIG DANE.
JANET (ON THE PHONE)- WAS THE PERSON IN THE WHEELCHAIR- AND THIS DOG "SAVVY" IS THE DANE/LAB CROSS WHERE THE MOTHER WAS OUR FEMALE FROM HUNGARY-- BOBBIES SISTER- THAT LU (ECAD) BRED.
WE ENDED UP WITH "HERSHEY" WHO WAS A DISASTER MENTALLY ONLY A YELLOW BALL CHASER THAT WE GAVE AWAY AS A PET .
SO JANET JUST MAYBE -- IS SEEING THAT A DANE WORKS-- AND HAS ASKED FOR A FEMALE TO BREED-- THE REASON I THINK THIS COULD BE A GOOD THING,.... IS THAT IT COULD BE A BREAKTHRU FOR SERVICE DANES- AS MOST OF THE REST OF ADI WON'T EVEN CONSIDER IT.
THE OTHER REASON IS THAT SHE IS FROM FLORIDA--- AND SHEILA COULD KEEP HER EYE ON THE PROJECT.????
AND SCHLEP DOGS/PUPPIES BACK AND FORTH...OR WE COULD GO VISIT....???
SO HERE IS HER LETTER...

My name is Etta Robinson. I am a puppy raiser for Janet Severt with New Horizons Service Dogs in Florida.
Janet was talking to you a little while ago about getting one of your Dane puppies to use as a breeding dog, and as a hearing dog. We prefer a black female if you have one available. The puppies would be used for balance and mobility in the program.
I have been a puppy raiser for the last 11 years. I am a service dog class instructor, and assist with Team Training. My husband and I live on 20 acres, with horses, goats, chickens, and a couple dogs. I have done quite a bit of research on Great Danes since he got his service dog. (Savvy, GD/Lab cross)
I am looking forward to getting a puppy for this project.

I DON'T KNOW IF SHE IS THINKING A DANE X DANE OR IF SHE WANTS TO DO THE DANE X LAB.. I WILL BE LOOKING INTO IT FURTHER... FROM WHAT I REMEMBERR OF JANET , SHE WAS A REGULAR SORT OF PERSON NOT PRONE TO PRECONCIEVED NOTIONS....

It's in the teens here in Virginia. Today I took Arrow to the tack shop and
bought him a foal rug. It fits perfectly! The only adjustment I had to make was
to cut off the strap that would normally go under a foal's tail so It wouldn't
interfere with Arrow doing his business. He's a happy boy!
