nov 30 2013

30 days hath september... and november

we are so lucky to have volunteersw who specialize---- yesterday it was paula--she is a super furnature mover /chopper -upper- i just mentioned getting that huge recliner out of my bedroom and moved to the training room-- 20 minutes later she had assembled a crew-- moved and set it up-- and taken out 2 old chairs which were already being burned  in the t tent.

earlene ws here all day trying to break in new overnight help- as chaos was snapping at strangers hands== not biting.. but snapping  and if you did not heed the warning i am sure teeth would follow.  those ae her pups and she wants no confusion about that.

today is rumored to be shipping day-- i have heard rumors of blue gwen and earlene  tackling what is beginning to be a huge list as people are buying both the calendar  and book for  christmas presents-- actually puppy beath and monkey fists too..

take a normally busy office add 2000  calendars 1000 books... and then envelopes to mail them all.... and the oveflow is considerable.

speaking of overflow--- then there is the icebox....?refrigerator?? you open the door and eat whatever falls out because it must be the most current.  last night david  ( a \s in david and dustin) grace and i  ate pasta-- either red or white  becusse it was big-- and in front..  i know ankle annie brought it with her-- but i could not tell you when--we ate it and are healthy so it must have been current.-- i did note the bread on top of the stove has those tell tail aging green fuzzy spots.  perfect chicken pennicillin.. that is not to be confused with a loaf of current bread around here somewhere...

david landed himself in the trainign room/  he looks great--- with new boots !!!-- and of course dustin looks perfect... i hope he stays around for a bit--- i am selfish-- he is a pretty  good  fixer -upper... and we have alot of uppers that need fixing.

speaking of chicken s  tomorrow is sh#tting sundayi am not on the food committee  but i know we have an entire spinelli's thanksgiving dinner in a fridge somewhere..-- i am on the chicken committee.. and i know the hawk is not afraqid of the streamer any more   and has been seen on the ground near the chickens..  which make it more critical to stay with the pups when they are out on puppy hill-- which they were yesterday...  they are always sooooo happy to be out in the real world

and along those lines.. the puppy names have been chosen and the  birthing book brought up to date---  that date being 11/26  which is a hugely shortsighted date... you have no ideas how many dates we have like that with no year....  which as life goes on,  the year
becomes more and more critical..

the names-- the litter---- buppies
the merlequins  whit's end... tim... chester....hecktor...  the 3 harls  tizzy frenzy and giddy-- teh black-  nutmeg -- and the merle fuschia

buppies ae doing well-- chaos does seem to like the door shut... so along those fixer lines... why the steel bar door does not shut  the last 6 inches, i do not know.--
re:   tht steel door
 there is a story..
my family-- ( old bunch) once farmed all of what is now new rochelle ny-- unfortunately lost nearly  all to taxes  way back when...  but inthe process  at some point i was in on the tearing down of  a small bank  -- and the only souveneer i could carry away was the steel door to th ebank vault-- so i did that -- with difficulty-- and it now protects our valuables--- the puppies.

now to make my quota of monkey fists for the day...

and the cut and paste

HELLO CARLENE,

WANTED TO SHARE SOME AWESOME NEWS WITH YOU REGARDING IVY.  THANKSGIVING MORNING I WOKE UP WITH A SEVERE BACK ACHE.  OK, AILMENT OUT OF THE WAY.

AS I TRIED TO GET OUT OF BED, I LET OUT A MOAN OF PAIN.  IVY WAS THERE INSTANTLY TO LET ME BRACE HER AND GET OUT OF BED.  FROM THAT POINT FORWARD, SHE WAS AT ME SIDE CONSTANTLY.  LITTLE THINGS LIKE GETTING A SAUCEPAN FROM THE BOTTOM CUPBOARD WAS PAINFUL.  IVY WAS RIGHT THERE SO I COULD BRACE AND GET MYSELF BACK UP.  BETWEEN THANKSGIVING DAY AND TODAY, I MUST HAVE USED HER 40 TIMES TO BRACE TO HELP ME UP.  iF SHE EVEN SAW ME TRY TO GET UP OFF OF THE SOFA, SHE WAS RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF ME, AS IF TO SAY, I AM HERE, PLEASE USE ME.  WHICH, OF COURSE, I DID.

MOST NOTABLY,  A FEW TIMES WHEN MY RIGHT LEG TREMOR WOULD START AND I NEEDED HER TO BRACE ON, SHE STEPPED ON MY RIGHT FOOT ALMOST AS IF TO STOP THE SHAKING.  IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE JOY FOR ME TO SEE HER BE ABLE TO DO THIS.

I AM SO THANKFUL FOR HER EVERY DAY.  LIFE AS I KNEW IT IS IN THE PAST.  OUR NEW LIFE TOGETHER IS ABSOLUTELY A MIRACLE AND IT IS ALL THANKS TO YOU, ALL THE SDP STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WHO CARE SO MUCH ABOUT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES LIKE MINE.  DREW AND I ARE BOTH ETERNALLY GRATEFUL.

THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH WORDS TO TELL YOU HOW MY LIFE HAS CHANGED.  BUT, REST ASSURED, IT IS DEFINITELY FOR THE BETTER.  THANK FOR YOU GIVING ME MY LIFE BACK.

BETTY A. TINGLEY
