I THINK SEVERAL OF US FEEL THAT THE DISNEY BUNCH ARE AN AWFULLY GOOD BUNCH-- THAT IS WATSON X GABBY?? so maybe watson is-- at teh moment --- teh preferred stud??

WHICH IS MAKING ME VERY NERVOUS...-- WE HAVE THE SERVICE DOG TRAINING DOWN PAT--- NOW WE HAVE A FEW ADJUSTMENTS TO MAKE FOR A PR DOG FOR TEH POLICE...-- SOME THINGS HAVE TO BE DRILLED IN TO XXXX ( HER HANDLER)- SHE WAS HORRIFIED TO THINK I WOULD WANT TO ADDRESS THE WAY SHE DRIVES BECAUSE SHE WENT THRU EXTENSIVE POLICE DRIVER TRAINING... WELL WAIT TIL SHE SEES ME COMING WITH MY WINEGLASS FILLED TO TEH BRIM WITH WATER... I DON'T THINK-- OR WANT THESE DOGS TO BE AT ALL FRAGILE,, BUT SPILLING FROM THE WINEGLASS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN MORE THAN ONCE- OR MAYBE TWICE A DAY... I WILL BET NOT MANY OF YOU HAVE RIDDEN IN THE VERY BACK OF A CAR-- OR A HORSE TRAILER.. IT CAN GET PRETTY ROUGH BACK THERE... ANOTEHR RULE IS DO ONE THING AT A time--- eithere steer,, or accellerate,,, or brake... but if yuo do two of those things at once the ?moment of force? can have an upsetting whip action/.
every once in a while a service dog decides not to get in the owners car....- and every time it has been related to an accident, or abrupt stop causing the dog to hit the back of tehfront seats -- or fall in that hole.... so we try to get ahead of that-- once they have been driving around for 2 years-- they can put up with more... but the instinct is tehre.. if i don't get in' i won't get slammed around."
ten there is the treat giving-- we really don't give treats for working.. we give treats for no apparentl reason.. once you start w tih the treats, that is all the dog thinks about and teh lesson is lost.
along with not using our muscles to control teh dog unless in an emergency.... no tight leash-- no stuffing them in a crate or car becasue we are in a hurry... and all along teh way, if a dog does not do what you expect, we stop and say why before we blame the dog... as in car driving...:)
because we don't use our muscles to control the dog... many ( most) of our dogs do no t understand hugging at all-- well if this pup is to be used in police pr-- then it will have to accept hugging and grabbing to some extent .
Judi doesnt sound like much--- but even after all these jobs with sizzle, if someone hugs her,, she stiffens and rolls her eyes in my direction... she paid her way last week when , asleep, that 2 year old kid tripped and fell right on her-- but she only got up and moved and kept her opinion to herself.
it is a different bunch of situations we will have to try and think out ahead of time;.

also from ingrid -- teh 3 styles of coats-- and we have a great selection os sizes too... they are organized on teh training room rafters- and all the volunteers and staff are welcome to help them selves-- THERE ARE CLOSE TO 200 COATS OF 3 STYLES. there aRe more of teh black and white ones we have had before- and those aRE REPORTED TO BE WONDERFULLY WARM''' TEHN THERE ARE GREY "P" COATS AND BROWN "SIERRA" JACKETS.. A SAMPLE OF TEH 3 STYLES IS BEHIND MY HEAD AS I TYPE
THEY HAVE BEEN DONATED TO SDP FOR OUR VOLUNTEERS AND RECIPIENTS ETC... I AM NOT TO DONATE THEM TO LOCAL SHELTERS... HEAVEN KNOWS WE CAN USE WARM COATS !!

i loved this email on teh training of children for disasters....
Because of the precarious nature of the modern conveniences, my parents and grandparents would hold "Disaster Drill Day" at the cottage. They would pose a list of deprivations and we kids would have to figure out how to get what we needed for daily life for 24 hours. It was great preparation for all kinds of future challenges, taught us to think ahead, organize and stockpile, be creative, cooperate with each other and determine what really is a necessity. Many times in my adult life I have utilized those lessons/skills learned from disaster drills and updated from actual occurrences.
