our interns learned a few things... i wish we all had more time- but some thingsw got done-- and we still have a couple weeks to go... it seems school/ colleges start mid august-- what happened to after labor day??? this whole "summer off " schedule started so the kids could help with the harvest---how many kids does anyone know who have to help with harvesting-- or even know what "harvest" means.??? i would hate to think my food supply was dependent on kids picking beans..
i think-- the farmer up the street--- with all the corn... flys in a planeload OF MEN from guatamala at the start of plaNTING. AND SENDS THEM BACK AFTER HARVEST..-- I AM TOLD HE HAS A DORM FOR THEM TO LIVE IN... AND THEY DO A WONDERFUL JOB PRODUCING ALL THE THINGS THAT FARM STAND SELLS...
LAURA, BELLA, HALEY JADE TANNER AND DEVIN ALL KNOW HOW TO WORK WITHIN A SYSTEM- i mean really work.... and think at the same time... we had a cp drayton here for a few days-- slid right in step with crazy acres- working hard--- the only time i saw her was at a refrigerator getting fluids or food... the rest of teh time she was busy.
how different from the kids who want to volunteer- as long as they can define what they will and will not do. ----and of all things drayton was alergic to dog slobber-- but that never slowed her up- she just got red and itched wherever it hit.

we have elvis here--- fiona was admitted to the hospital for some proceedure which they did not want to have elvis with her... so all of a sudden we have elvis on the couch in the laundry,,, a heck of a come down-- but all we could offer with lanie here in the house getting ready to burst.

fires---- not nice---- i emailed tina and told her we could put her up here if she got told to evacuate...
SDP is right on the edge of significant forest - aT LEAST FOR THIS REGION-- but this forest gets rained on regularly... i often wonder where i could stash all these dogs if we had to evacuate-- i can see all the dogs in the horse trailer chewing on eacdh other while i dash to the open area of teh fairgrounds... then coming back to a bunch of chain link fence-- buildings gone..

pam has added another 7 minute video to our web page,,,,it is the "egg" behind teh chicken--- to explain our #1 fundraiser.. chicken bricks.. it is a great generic video-- however... i do think maybe we should not use it at nursing homes. with too many alltzeimer patients, we are better off with teh 30 second bunch of pictures...

kristen is hoping to fit the stroller in her car and bring hi htere in a few weeks... it has to collapse-- they all do... don't they??/
it will be perfect to take a couple pups to the senior homnes-- it will work for about 2 weeks before the pups get too old and could tip the thingg over,... but in the meantime it is a super cute demonstration... we needs to find some cheap/ small lace tablecloths to dress it up/-- and if i remember correctly i had a rig so a roll of papertowels hung off the handle.

this should be national unblock the vacuum cleaner hose day... judy and i tried to use the big shop vac on the a/c filters and it was totally blocked.-- it has to have been used partially blocked before total... and at what point should some one check and fix it???
it is that kind of job arougd here that can be a problem...
someone has suggested a wheel-- as in spin teh wheel for jobs that need doing monthly.. like checking fire extinquishers and vacuum hoses...
keep thinking...
