NO DAILY DOGGIE TODAY... I HAVE TO GO HAVE ROUTINE BLOOD TEST ND IT IS NPO... NOT EVEN   C  O  F  F E  E
GLAD I ASKED ( THREATENED PEOPLE ) TO WRITE REPORTS... SO HERE IS SOME AMUSEMENT....

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF BELLA AND GEORGE. WE HAD TO BE UP AND OUT TODAY BY 7:30. BELLA HAD PT. SHE IS DOING SOOO GOOD. HER THERAPIST WAS SO PROUD OF HOW FAR SHE HAS GOTTEN EVEN SINCE MONDAY. HER WALKING WITHOUT ANY HELP HAS IMPROVED A TON. SHE WORKS HARD AND MAKES SURE TO DO HER EXERCISES. SHE IS DOING AMAZING. I AM SO PROUD OF HER. I THINK GEORGE IS ALSO. YOU CAN TELL BY HOW HE WAS WATCHING HER AT PT TODAY. BEFORE YOU KNOW IT SHE WILL BE RUNNING AND PLAYING AGAIN! MAYBE EVEN SLEDDING LIKE SHE SO LOVES TO DO. AS LONG AS THE BOOT COMES OFF AND SHE CAN WEAR REGULAR BOOTS WE SHOULD BE SET. I DID HEAR POSSIBLY SNOW MONDAY. SO WE SHALL SEE. HOPEFULLY IT DOESN'T MESS WITH HER APPOINTMENT TO LOOK AT GETTING A NEW LIFT MADE. BUT IT IS GOING TO BE VERY COLD THIS WEEKEND. IN THE 20'S. SO NOT READY FOR THAT. BELLA STILL PLANS TO WALK UP TO DR KARLIN WITH NO HELP. I THINK SHE CAN DO IT. SHE WAS IN BED A LITTLE EARLY AND EVEN RESTED IN BED THIS AFTERNOON. PT IS HARD WORK AND THEN ADD SCHOOL ON TOP AND THAT EQUALS ONE VERY TIRED LADY. SO SHE IS SNUGGLED WITH GEORGE IN BED AND OFF TO DREAM LAND. LOVE BELLA AND GEORGE

HELLO CARLENE AND ALL AT CRAZY ACRES. AS YOU KNOW I AM NOT A 'RECIPIENT' OF EITHER A PP NOR A SERVICE DOG. I DO NOT EVEN OWN A DOG. I AM HOWEVER A RECIPIENT OF ALL ELSE YOU PERPETUATE.
SINCE I STARTED AS A CP AND THEN BEGAN VOLUNTEERING, THE LEVEL OF LOVE, SUPPORT, AND COMMUNITY YOUR ORGANIZATION FOSTERS IS AWE INSPIRING. INCLUDING YOUR CP ARMY WHO EXCEL AT BEING A COMMUNITY AND SUPPORTING EACH OTHER, ESPECIALLY THE NEWCOMERS MANY OF WHO COMMENT ON IT.  I HAVE TRAVELED FOR HOURS AT A TIME (13 TO GET HOME ONE WEEKEND) JUST TO BE ABLE TO HELP 'TOW YOUR LINE'. I GO HOME DRAINED TO MY CORE YET SOMEHOW REINVIGORATED FOR THE CHALLENGES YET TO BE MET. I HOPE YOU CONTINUE TO GET THE CONFIRMATIONS FROM THOSE YOU HAVE SERVICED OVER THE YEARS, YOU DESERVE AT VERY LEAST THAT RECOGNITION.
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, YOU WILL NEVER TRUELY GRASP THE LEVEL OF BLESSINGS YOU CREATE. MAY THEY RETURN TO YOU THREEFOLD ! !!
Thank you AJAY-NY

I know service dogs are trained to be well behaved out in public but I have to tell you of how proud I was with Emmett today. While shopping we encountered some one's pet riding in a shopping cart. When the other dog saw Emmett, he went berserk. Emmett just stood there. The manager came running over to see what was going on, he was amazed at how well he was behaving. I said he is a service dog and that's  what happens when a pet is allowed in

HELLO CARLENE,

I APOLOGIZE, I AM ONE THAT FORGETS TO GIVE UPDATES.

IVY IS DOING GREAT AND I MUST SAY THAT SHE IS BECOMING A MASTER AND STICKING HER HEAD IN THE SHOWER WHEN I AM IN THERE.  HER DEDICATION TO ME IS SURREAL.  SHE IS NEVER MORE THAN 6 INCHES AWAY FROM ME AT ALL TIMES.

SHE IS AND CONTINUES TO BE MY LIFELINE.  I CHERISH HER EVERY DAY.  SHE IS ONE CONSTANT IN MY LIFE AND I THANK YOU AND THE SDP STAFF/TRAINERS EVERY DAY FOR HER.  WITHOUT HER, I WOULD BE IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM ALL THE TIME FROM FALLING AND NOT BEING ABLE TO GET UP BY MYSELF.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.

BETTY & IVY

P.S.  ENJOY THE WHOOPIE PIES

I have now been together with my Mom for three months and it is amazing how quickly time passes!! I am busy teaching Mom my routine, and in turn, Mom has also worked to integrate me into her life and continue my training. It has been an especially good week, which is saying a lot, because we are only part way through the week!!

I begin our mornings by gently waking Mom up. At first, I stand over her and sometimes this is all that it takes. On other occasions, she sleeps more deeply (which is understandable if she had not slept well earlier in the night), so I have to resort to additional measures to get her up. First, I gently nudge her with my nose, and sometimes she awakens giggling because my cold nose surprises her. If that doesn't work, I move around on the bed, then find a toy and made it squeak a few times. That really does the trick!!

Mom first gives me a cookie -- lately, a REALLY BIG cookie -- to settle my stomach, since it takes a little while to do breakfast. See, one morning I "urped" (that is what Mom calls it, when I brought up some greenish fluid because my tummy was too empty; it's not exactly vomiting up, but just sort of bringing a little liquid up). After listening to Miss Carlene's plan to have Shannon address a similar issue at the farm with cookie rounds first-thing, Mom instituted morning cookie(s) for me, too. It's like an appetizer for breakfast -- yummy!!

In the morning, I want cuddles first, and also to play. At first, I tried to play bitey face with Mom, just as I had with my siblings and friends at the farm, but for some reason, Mom did not approve. Hmmm...instead, Mom gives me a toy to bite, like Froggie (and Trainer Meg had told Mom that was a good idea). Sometimes I am so bitey that I go after my own tail, and that really makes Mom laugh. I also love to have my tummy rubbed, so that I turn over to allow Mom access. Some mornings, we do "turkey time," as Mom calls it, because I lay on my back, looking like a turkey, so she can rub my chest and tummy. Maybe I look ridiculous, but I really don't care -- I love the cuddles and rubs!!
AMY
