AUG 8 2016
THERE IS ANEW WALL STARTED..   BLESS YOU ALL WHO FILLED THAT ONE. !!

DID WE EVER HAVE A CROWD FOR SHATTING !!  LOTSA NEW PEOPLE--
EVERYBODY HELPING WAS VERY NICE--- EVEN THE REMOVING OF STICKERS WAS APPEALING   ( NOW THAT WAS TERRIBLE-- WORSE THAN STEVE'S AWFUL PUNS)
I DON'T THINK I MOVED OR STOPPED TALKING FROM 10 AM TO 3:07PM WHEN THE CHICKEN FINALLY PRODUCED TEH WINNER. AT WHICH POINT I REALIZED MEGAN WAS NOT  HERE AND THE 2 JOBS SHE HAD WERE NOT DONE.. NAMELY SHOOTING THE PUPS WITH THEIR PARVO ETC... (C5 SHOT)  AND GROMMET HAD NOT ASKED MORIAH OUT  TO DINNER YET THAT DAY.

FOR THOSE OF YOU  INTERESTED  IN THE EDUCATIONAL PART..  MORIAH STARTED WITH A RED DRIP OVER A WEEK AGO... THIS RED   IS NOT VERY ATTRACTIVE TO MALES-- BUT  THEN IT TURNS TO SALMON COLORED AND THE BOYS ARE INTERESTED BIG TIME.. PROBLEM YESTERDAY  WAS ... I DON'T EVER REMEMBERING THE DRIP TURNING BACK TO RED... WHICH IT DID...  AND WE REALLY NEEDED TO ASK AN EXPERT WHAT THAT MEANT... THE EXPERT BEING GROMMET--- BUT SINCE AN AWFUL LOT OF PEOPLE HAD BEGUN TO ARRIVE- WE DID NOT GET TO ASK HIM HIS OPINION UNTIL AFTER MOST LEFT AT 4PM.... HE TOUGHT SHE WAS CUTE BUT SHE SAID "GET LOST" IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS.. THAT IS NORMAL- OR WHAT I WOULD EXPECT...  BUT THE RED DRIP????  GEORGE( DVM GEORGE)???
******
THE PUPS HAD TO HAVE THIER C5 SHOT BECAUSE WE ARE GETTING  A NEW PUP TODAY... A RISK... BUT ON E I HAD TO TAKE BECAUSE GOLDIE SAID SO..  I WAS LOOKING OVER THE BLACK PUPS IN EUROPE WHEN BECKY EMAILED TO SAY SHE FOUND A BREEDER IN FLORIDA WHO WANTED TO DONAT A  BLACK MALE PUP TO SSDP WHO'S PARENTS WERE EUROPEAN... IT WAS THAT GOLDIE COINCIDENCE I COULD NOT IGNORE... SO I TOLD HER TO BRING IT UP HERE WHEN SHE CAME-- WHICH IS TODAY-- AND  SANDIAND SHAUNA CAN GO PICK HIM UP  IN MIDDLEBORO...
I DO NOT HAVE A CLUE WHAT IS COMING  BUT GOLDIE SAID TO ... SO I  TOOK A CHANCE... WORST CASE IS WE  REHOME HIM.. WELL THAT IS NOT THE WORST CASE  BUT LETS NOT THINK ABOUT THAT..
WE NEED TO GET A QUICK LINE ON HIS SHOTS AND  YOU KNOW FLORIDA IS THAT PLACE WITH ALL THE CREEPY CRITTERS SO ?ADVANTIX?  I NEED TO KNOW IF HE HAS ANY ON HIM ALREADY..
I WILL SEE WHAT HE HAS FOR PAPERWORK AND CALL THE BREEDER...
********
THEN THE  "SERVICE DOG" EPISODE IN PENNA- WHAT A FIASCO--THE DANE HAS BECOME AGRESSIVE AND HAS BITTEN 2 KIDS- AND THE BREEDER ( ALSO I AM TOLD HAS BECOME AGGRESSIVE) -- SHOULD -- TAKE HER BACK  BUT DIDN'T LEAVING THE WOMAN IN THE WHEELDCHAIR TRYING TO COPE WITH 150 POUND DOG OUT OF CONTROL..  MY ADVICE WAS TO CALL ANIMAL CONTROL AND GET THE DOG AWAY FROM KIDS... AND THEN SHE COULD SIT DOWN AND WRITE TO  GDCA  - GREAT DANE CLUB OF AMERICA-ADI-( ASSISTANCE DOG INTERNATIONAL SHE SAID SHE BELONGED TO...)  BBB-- TEH PICK A PUP  INTERNET  IS A MEMBER OF BBB-  AKC  AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB( THE DOG IS REGISTERED WITH THEM)  FOR STARTERS...
I HOPE SHE DID... I TORE UP THE NOTES I HAD ON THE TOPIC, BUT  I THINK THE KENNEL WAS ACTUALLY IN MICH????
*****
I GO  TO THE TOWN HALL TODAY FOR THE PERMIT...  LET US PRAY...

I THOUGHT OF YOU WHEN I HEARD THIS ON THE NEWS LAST NIGHT.  OUR ST. LOUIS STATION WAS REPORTING ABOUT A YOUNG BOY WITH AUTISM AND THAT HIS MOTHER PLACED JARS OUT IN STORES IN MANY, MANY PLACES TO COLLECT ENOUGH MONEY FOR A SERVICE DOG - YES, I SAID COLLECT/DONATIONS AND ONE YEAR LATER SHE HAD ENOUGH TO MAKE THE PURCHASE OF A TRAINED DOG FOR $25,000.00.

I’M TELLING YOU THIS, AS I AND ALL THE OTHER CP’S KNOW HOW VALUABLE YOU ARE - GIVING TO PEOPLE IN NEED OF A BALANCE DOG AT NO COST.
NEED I SAY MORE, I DON’T THINK SO, OTHER THEN TO SAY
GOD BLESS THOSE THAT HAVE RECEIVED ONE OF YOUR TRAINED DOGS.

I TOOK OUT THE NAMES BECAUSSE THIS PERSON IS NOT AWARE OF ALL YOU CAMERA PEOPLE  AND TEH COMMUNITY WE HAVE...

Hi,
My son, XXX, just lost his Therapy dog, Molly, a black Great Dane on July 17, 2016 from bladder cancer...So, I'm on a search to find him a Great Dane that can become a great companion for him...

XXX was born with a rare form of dwarfism and many other issues...I thought a Great Dane would help him through his struggles. So, I adopted Molly from a rescue group and
had Her trained and she became a great companion ofXXX helping him become less anxious, more confident and more active...

XXXand I decided to share the Joy Molly brought him with others...We took Molly and Buddy, my daughters Great Dane, on weekly trips to the nursing home to cheer up residents..

If you feel any of your Great Danes would be a good fit for US , please let me know.

I DID READ A  NYTIMES ARTICLA ABOUT  HIM... SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD PLACE FOR  ONE OF OUR DOGS
CHICAGO AREA-  GOT TO PUT SOME WEIGHT ON DELTA AIRLINES-- MEGAN'S MOM WAS DELTA FOR 46 YEARS AND WE HAVE A DELTA PILOT JOINING OUR HAPPY GROUP ( WELL HIS WIFE IS...) NEXT SEPT.  WE NEED   TO BE ABLE TO SHIP TRAINERS AROUND...- AND MEGAN LIKES TO FLY...

Arrow
July 28, 2007- August 6, 2016

In October of 2008 I got the call to come to SDP to see if I was a match for a 15 month old 150 pound mantle named Arrow. My first night in the guesthouse with him sleeping by my bed was memorable because I was awakened by the puffs of air on my face. I opened my eyes to see a huge head four inches from mine. He was smelling me, trying to figure out who I was. I patted his head and told him what a sweet boy he was, after which he went back to his bed.

That was the start of of a beautiful eight year relationship that lasted until yesterday when we put Arrow to rest due to several incurable medical issues. My heart aches with emptiness, but is also filled with gratitude for the life we had together. He gave me the opportunity to trade my cane for a Dane, allowing me negotiate my balance issues due to MS with confidence and pride rather than fear and embarrassment.

He was my constant companion. Together we went shopping, to doctors appointments, to restaurants, for long daily walks, to meetings, and dog parks. He accompanied me to Capitol Hill every year for MS Advocacy Day where he caught the attention of senators and congressmen and helped promote the MS cause. He was with me on stage when I gave speeches at MS fundraising luncheons and dinners. He was always a “huge” hit, needless to say.

Mostly I will miss his devotion to me. I am blessed to have had the honor of being the focus of his attention and service all these years. Thank you, Carlene, and all those at SDP for the invaluable gift of my dear Arrow.
