yesterday someon suggested we get goats to trim tjhe weeds etc...
i have been that road... goats jump most any fence available around here...
and they do alot of other things.. like run and play making them targets for danes
our poo pickers wouldnt work for them-- and they are prolific poo producers..
poo machines really-- every time they flick their tails some round pellets are produced.
it would be possiblel to raise the dogs from birth in a pen with goats-- which they do at the local
fox hunt club. it keeps the foxhounds from being fascinated with chasing deer which behave like goats
around here the game would not be worht the candle/
and if we need the trimmingg done ( we are not allowed to cut stuff near wetlands... but we may pasture animals)
so therte is a guy around here with a herd of sheep which we could rent
he comes complete with working dogs...

i am enjoying the kindle again
old habbits are hard to break
i keep licking my finger to turn the pages....
i don't yet know if there is q way to remember/record pieces... as you might highlight in a normal printed book...
this book "walden" is loaded with observations of society... "it is easier to inherit useless worldly posessions than it is to get rid of them"
" if someone in paris puts a muskrat on their head, many americans would rush out to put muskrats on thier heads."
he has alot to say about fashions, house sizes, and the effect of one generation on the next. and i have just started it.
aside from the fact that he writes in very long sentances, i am having a good time with it.
**if you have a house, you have dust.... if you live outside you don't have to dust---

he mentions railroad "boxes" 3x6 feet as being able to keep out the rainas well as a house... which reminded me of the book /broadway show /movie.. "cannery row" "pipe dream" and "sweet thursday" ( all the same) where a gal sets up light housekeeping in an oil tank ( highly recommended)

we are supposed to have some heavy rain/wind today.... there goes another bunch of grass seed getting washed into the creek...
i wonder if i could plant crabgrass to begin with-- at least it would be green.
i hope these dead trees i have suddenly become focused on manage to stay up til the tree guy can cut them down.

donna and i are startting leash training with audry and vivien - (with the firgure 8 around their neck and girth) ..both are doing very well... the process is one of "explainig" to them that the rule of teh rope is an absolute one.... and try and do that with the least possible trauma. it is best done with their rear end aimed against some wall or corner... there has to be some pulling backward into the leash at which point you have to hold your ground. they must not get away and you must not try and ease off by walking toward them because they then figure you are chasing them in their misery... a few tugs ad relax and let them think til they say "what the heck i will try walking forward" and you give them big pattts.. sometimes it takes a while... after the initial "surrender" sometimes it is a questionof one or two 5 minute lessons for a few days and they get it.

yesterdays mailcall -- started with the donkey horn on my golf cart......it is much louder when you are outside...
a fun noise.
and we had a donation from a disney employee with this note...
Any qualified Disney employee (they need to meet some minimal requirements) can now pursue a matching gift for SDP by completing an electronic form - SDP is now in the system and pre-qualified. Donations made and matching gifts requested NOW - and verified by SDP by June 30 - will be matched by Disney on September 30. Donations made and matching gifts requested in time for SDP to verify by September 30 will be matched on December 31. Thinking you may want to mention this news in a DD and/or at Mail Call to help spread the word. Also wondering if Tina or Sheila might be able to get the word to anyone who joined the Orlando gathering a few months ago in case they work for Disney or have friends/neighbors who do. The hard part is done - now that you are in the system its a simple form for anyone who wants to donate and be matched, and/or volunteer and request a grant. THANKS again for all that you - you have inspired me. A few college friends and I are still planning SDP as our 2016 reunion destination for a long weekend of volunteer service. Congratulations Carlene! Thanks Again, Ingrid Sander A lifelong Doberman Pinscher lover

that could be a wonderful discovery !!!
now that we have the donated purina food, our biggest expense is payroll--as it stands now ,
if there are still only 52 weeks in a year - teh payroll and payroll taxes and med ins will be $250,000 a year
- scares me big time... the chicken bricks are about 1/2 of it -- so keep them coming !!
never did i ever think i would be dealing with those kind of numbers. my mind has more of the $10 frame of reference.
but the dogs we have put out and are coming along with do justify the expense.
they are working wonders !!
don't thank me, SDP is certainly a group effort !
