sept 23 2020

wednesday  WE did  NOT FINISHED THE LEFTOVER  DOGFEST HAMBERGERS !! we must address the extra food around here...

BIGGEST  NEWS IS YOU WILL SEE LYNN WANDERING AROUND ALL OVER TODAY... LEARNING FIRST HAND SOME OF THE WIERD DETAILS OF CRAZY ACRES...LIKE HOW TO STOP THE ELECTRIC GATE MID STREAM... OR   THE LATEST.... HOW EFFECTIVE IS IT TO AHANG ALL THE FLUFFIES ON THE SPIRIT STICK  WRACKS IN THE ALLEYWAY OF THE BARN?? ( APPARENTLY REALLY SWIFT DRYING TIME)  BEFORE WE HAD SUCH A WONDERFUL COMMERCIAL DRYER  I USETA HANG EVERYTHING  ON THE FENCES, BUT JANINE THOUGHT THAT LOOKED "TACKY"   -- ESPECIALLY WHEN I ADDED ROPES ALL OVER WHERE DOGS COULD NOT PULL DOWN THE "LAUNDRY "   .. ALL THOSE FLUFFIES WERE VERY CHEERFUL LOOKING IN THE MINDS OF SOME...I DON'T KNOW WHAT I SAID TO MY CHILDREN TO  HAVE THEM THINK CLEAN LAUNDRY FLOATING ON ROPES  IN THE SUNLIGHT WAS ANYTHING  BUT  LOVELY AND CLEAN...

KNOWN FACT... YOU CAN NOT CHANGE TEH MIND OF SOMEONE WHO HAS A PRECONCIEVED NOTION WHICH WAS FIRMLY PLANTED IN THEIR  FORMATIVE YEARS.   MCDONALDS HAPPY MEALS IS ALWAYS MY PRIME EXAMPLE..

SO DENIS GOT THE 8 FOOT WRACKS INTO THE ALLEYWAY WHICH  IS 8 FOOT 1/4 INCH TALL....  AND I SPENT PROBABLY 24 SECONDS FLIPPING A LOad of laundry over the wracks...
which is less time than it takes to wheelbarrow the load to and from the dryer in gthe laundry building...
and just think of teh exercise...  "bend and stretcch, reach for the skys" like the romper room song goes. ( goed?... went???)

i keep forgetting i  don't have to type this.... as i just daid in s different form... old habbits are hard to replace???? .. like eating big mac's.

2020 9 23 ( the dictated oaprt)

The best way to describe lynns  effect on our operation would be she has picked up on all the systems we have running here or that should be running here that I have not been able to keep up with most notably my beautiful back pack .. vacuum cleaner .

I heard about the vacuum from someone in New England biolabs and then someone else at mass general .. it's hugely efficient battery run not terribly heavy and does a wonderful job in the cracks and crevices of any building especially a kennel with its funny forward placing foot not perpendicular to the wand ..

I have started three different staff members on using that .but I find that unless I'm standing there watching them well quickly brush off the carpets of the sleeping lofts And quickly mopped the floor shoving grock into the corners and ignore the vacuum cleaner . it is one of those it's easier to grab a brush and brush off the carpet by hand and leave all the really horrible dirt down in the Tufts of the carpet.. I don't like that .  But I didn't have time to follow through .. Lynn took one look at that . put it on her own back to try it out which I had done also , and decided she would keep it in her office where it can be recharged and hand it out to someone on the prescribed day like Thursdays and Sundays to do the main barn .. situation hopefully under control.. forget the easy brush off.

  --

And then there's the cars --  she went down and started up the two orange vehicles noted the repair  Notices , made an appointment at the Toyota dealer to have both cars updated and with a bit of luck maybe mine too which is due for an oil change .  Then she thought it would be very interesting if the trainers who drive these orange cars could note the mileage on the bottom of the Pooh picker on which they made their daily dog report .. would take no extra effort whatsoever .. and it might take Donna less than 4 seconds to punch that in  the data file she already keeps and that would show a bunch of amazing things like mileage .. And maybe oil changes ..

----

While at the same time dealing with the   “perils of Pauline??????-----Watson , Bentley , Paula  what appears to have been just social life .. who knows-----    Paula is strange ---an inconclusive tpt ( toilet paper test)   is that red.. or is it tan..or salmon color…. ??? … but we've been there before .

Because She started to handle those kind of things I got to work and my 10 little  purple dog houses and the doors to them ..  great strides were made …and I got a nap .and ice cream !!

Now for the would you believe it section---

I have called the Toyota dealer three Times Now trying to buy another used car to match the two orange ones we now have which would be lin an two trainers’s cars..  matching… .

I would think someone would get ahold of me with some success somewhere .. unless they just aren't making orange ones anymore ? at any rate I haven't heard and I started asking three weeks ago ..

Tilly…. Aka myrtle.. with the megasophagus.. is doing beautifully so far in her little” bailey chair “  built to hold her upright while the food slides down into her tummy.

Nae man can tether time nor tide… nor the growth of a dane pup…. So I have contacted the company about at least another chair to take over as she outgrows the one she now has …  outgrowing  could take a week?????

Here is an interesting bit from Courtney…

Interesting because  some people would have observed “she is dragging things around" ….. where Courtney realized it was a  very intellectual thing for lilo to do.

from courtney

You'll like this one.

In quarantine, I stay in my pajamas a lot of the time. The main exception to this is when I get dressed to go to the park with Lilo in the mornings. She's definitely learned the correlation between me putting on "real" pants and when we're going to the park.

This morning I ran a little late and she took matters into her own paws. As I was washing my face, she came into the bathroom carrying a pair of my husband's pants. She passed them to me as if to say, "Here, let me help." I explained to her that those were NOT my pants, but that she'd made her point and I'd hurry it up.

----------
Good Morning Carlene,
Ned and I were12 hours in the eyewall of hurricane Sally last week.  I was amazed at how calm Ned stayed during the long hours of screaming winds and the sideways driving 25" of rain.  His biggest complaint was not wanting to go out to the bathroom.  He doesn't like to get his hair wet even a little bit!   We have power back but are still boiling water.  We'll probably be in clean up mode for another month.  We were much luckier than most of our neighbors and are counting our blessings..
We've hardly been out in public except a grocery run every couple of weeks and we go to the dog park or beach whenever we can while avoiding the crowds.  A couple of weeks ago we went to a smaller ethnic grocery.  Although the proprietor obviously knew the ADA laws and didn't challenge me bringing Ned in he did ask me not to let him touch anything and I could see how unhappy he was.   As we were the only people in the store I would see him peeking from the end of the aisles to keep an eye on Ned the whole time we were there.  Of course Ned was perfect, keeping that nose straight ahead moving only when I did.  When we got ready to leave the proprietor had relaxed and was asking questions and taking pictures of Ned.  Ned's won over yet another business.  He truly is amazing.
I love it when you talk about the theory behind the way you train these amazing dogs please continue to share your thoughts.  It really helps me in my day to day relationship with Ned.  I agree with you 100% about them being thinking dogs.  I've learned that your advice when he doesn't react to something the way I expect I just stop and look around to figure out what he's reacting to.  There is always something.
Through SDP and the loving, caring CP community Ned gives me the ability to live on my own.  No words can adequately thank you for such a precious gift.  ellen and ned.

SEPT 22 2020 ED BIGLEY JACK NICHOLSON

How big a deal is it ffor lynn to come on board as director of operations ? well combine that with I took 3/4 of a pill of that melatonin last night which always produces weird dreams ... and I dreamt that I chose to sleep overnight on the sidewalk it Boston because I was intent on studying the wrought iron fences which people had made into very ornate window decorations . I think that was probably pretty symbolic .. with the help of melatonin

And then the dream got weird as for some peculiar reason I ended up minus my blue jeans ... and had an awful time trying to locate anything that would cover the necessities of life be cause my sister kept finding blue jeans that were too small .. my sister franny hasalways Been--- shall we say---  more fit than I .. but there was a time limit to finding jeans because I had a high school function Of some sort which brought into the dream  a very few of my classmates that I left ..2 MALES AND ONE FEMALE ALL VAGUELY INTERTWINED BUT I WILL LET THAT ONE GO...

it's amazing how facts can get so jumbled ..
the  part about being  in Boston minus your pants has to have come from the TV show I did with Ed Begley junior .. when the scene called for him to go up to a door knock on the door someone would answer knock him out he would fall back ONTO the sidewalk with the trash ---A  homeless person would come along and steal his pants at which time I was to have a dog come in and sit next to him and bark at him .. I went to Boston with four dogs who would do that and after the first take the director said I'd rather have the dog lick him in the face .. so I got out my bag of goodies where I had some liver pace an I started to smear some on bigley cheek . he asked what I was doing and I said I was just putting some liver ------  and that's as far as I got when he screamed stood up and ran  3 blocks   through the streets of Boston ( mind you he had no pants on at themoment .) . because he's a vegetarian and didn't want liver touching his skin  .

My weird dream has to have come from that experience because it honestly is the only time I can remember anything to do with being  minus one's pants in Boston .
 moving on

the Only other semi attached experience was maybe the movie witches of eastwick not sure about that but it was the actor who somehow was involved with insane asylums and nurses are something what the hell is his name------- THIS IS  -CONVERSATION  WITH  Donna ----who was in witches of eastwick ??? John which is of East maybe it wasn't John it was the guy it was the guy I had to go around Boston with and I put liver in his shoe yeah that the Wang center right the dog was supposed to follow up through the ranks enter and I couldn't get the dog to do it without putting he was so nice with people I've told the story many times who is the male character no stop so she's gonna ask her computer you're being taped he's big he's a big guy starring Jack Nicholson  !!!!!    Jack Nicholson see I was close ----that's it that's all I need OK so Jack Nicholson had to have a dog follow him through the Wang center in Boston so we had to practice the dog following him so I ended up walking around Boston with him and he said I don't care if you fill my shoe with liver anything to get the shot .. he was so pleasant with all the people we met laundry around with children with liver in his shoe and a dog following him .. we MET  SEVERAL handicap people he would always stop it let people take photographs and give autographs .

SO MUCH FOR THE LIVER AND PANTS  MELETONBIN DREAM..
AND SO IT GOES....

sept 21 2020 venting lies

VENTING WARNING...thou shalt not lie to sdp dogs    IT ISBAD ENOUGH WNHEN people lie in general  but when you lie to a dog... you are rotted to the core.  it happens when  a person figures  figures they are mentally more astute than the dog... which is not necessarioly true in th long run  dogs are more forgiving than people and will put up wioth a FEW LIES...  WITH PEOPLE- LIKE OLD ONES -- DISTRACTION  WORKS UNTIL INSTANT RECALL TAKES OVER...

? SHAKE A DISH OF FOOD TO CALL A PUP AND THEN NOT FEED THEM?????????

LET ME TRY.....

2020 9 21

Let's assume you have had a delivery of bricks and the truck put 10 pileS  of bricks on the RIGHT  side the driveway and you really need them on the LEFT   side ..

so you ask someone to come move PILE #1 of bricks for $50 and they come and they do it and it works well so you invite them back to move the second pile for another $50 and that worked so they come back from the third pile and you forgot to cash a check so they have to wait until you  ARE REMINDED  to pay the $50 .. then you invite them back for the 4th file AND  DON’T  pay them immediately … the question becomes how many more piles is that person going to transfer from right to left before they say to hell with it ----no ticky no shirty .. A REALLY NEEDY PERSON MIGHT HELP  LONGER  AND WORK THRU PILE #7  OR 8   BUT YOU AIN’T NEVER GOING TO GET TO PILE #10.

why would that be any different with dogs????  . getting into a kennel is NOT their favorite thing to do in the world but they happily get in and turn around and expect a cookie so it becomes a bargain "I got in there and where's my cookie"    .. I expect it it's always been that way and it's part of the bargain OF  behaving …  NOW IN AN EMERGENCY It might happen that you asked the dog to get in and have to run back to the barn together a cookie to give them so there is a delay but they do get their cookie for getting in the stall . to not give him a cookie even a delayed cookie makes for the situation I saw on Saturday where two dogs just had no intention of getting in the kennel and they were finally grabbed by the skin on their neck shoved in the kennel and no cookie then either … which described to me personally what they thought of the schover who had him by the neck…   that person is a liar -----why should I behave?

So in our example with the bricks AND DOGS    a dog would forgive it a couple times well I don't think you'd get to pile #5 with a dog .

and I saw this with a different group of dogs and different people yesterday . object being at the 15 puppies into the nuthouse to practice going through the door flap . the person figuring I want those puppies to come to me so I will just shake this dish of dry dog food to get their attention and then shove 'em where I want them .. I watched from the driveway from my heated golf cart AKA Toyota car .. as she used the dry dog food and then never gave them their expected  piece of food .

HOW SHOULD SHE have done it??  ??????   SIT DOWN AND LET THE PUPS COME TO HER AT WHICH TIME .. JUST DIRECT THEM TO THE PERSON IN THE NUTT HOUSE WITH TEH TREATS.  IT MIGHT TAKLE A WHILE, BUT  WHAT IS THE RUSH?????

BUT HAVING LIED BEFORE  TO THE PUPS… SHE CAN SIT TIL THE COWS COME HOME.. AND THE PUPS DON’T THINK  GOING TO SIT ON HER LAP IS ALL THAT MUCH FUN ANYWAY..  they will run to nanny pam  big time...

AS FOT THE BARN DOGS… THE adults playing on  Puppy Hill if the person   had a leash in her back pocket and went out on the Hill with them they should come to her because they like her and she could slip a leash around their neck give them a great big Pat Pat Pat Pat and walk them off to a kennel ----they go in give him a cookie and go get the other dog who would probably be standing there waiting to get in the kennel and have a cookie ..instead of chase dog to grab that one by the neck shove 'em in shut the gate and the damage done by that  may take months to overcome because the flashback of being chased and grab by the neck could be reenacted in a parking lot if a dog gets loose ..

so when I decide I've had enough of this kind of  bulling behavior and let someone on staff  go… ..don't give me a lot of why should I ----  why did I ---do this and why did I do that--    because I can't answer you as I would like to but I have my reasons .   just like the dogs have their reasons .. because in the big turn of the wheel it's the dogs who get to decide a lot of things around here .

and if anyone thinks the dogs don't talk … then you're wasting your time watching them because you never will understand .

now if I am the one hired to move bricks…. at pile #3 of bricks… I might keep going if I had nothing else to do, but in my mind, would definitely be.. “gotta watch this person”    and 6 months later. .. I would have reduced  remembering the necessary details down to “ this guy’s a creep so be on your guard”  even if I can not remember why.

that is true of dogs..too…

i will not get into  political paralells.. too many bricks to pile up....

A little over a year ago, Norah and I received our Master of Social Work Degree from Boston University. She not only went to class with me each weekend and to work with me all week, but she also attended the ceremony with me! She was a little overwhelmed at times by all of my fellow graduates, but she was the consummate professional throughout! Presently, we are a therapy team for adults living with substance abuse disorders-- I provide the therapy, and Norah offers the moral support, supervision, and occasional grunts of approval. Thanks to SDP for bringing Norah into my life and making accessibility a priority! #accessibilityalways

sept 20 2020 dogfest

Well done to everyone with dogfest we made it through ------the highlight of the whole day I think was Judy interviewing the recipients ---it was hysterical talking so sincerely while the turkeys are gobbling around the donkeys are falling through the fence ..  Judy kept her focus on three things at once and it was very enjoyable we had many comments about a good job she did ..

we had many comments I want a great job everybody did---- all the way through to the end with pam's dance in the parking lot .. the puppy run is going to behave better for some reason they ran underneath the camera a lot of the time and weren't as visible as they have been in the past running around the grassy area ... I have a feeling it was the shade that they were looking for ..so next time we do this-- a year from now-- you have to calculate where the shade is it was too late to set up an awning ...

spirit sticks went well ----- i only know for next year is for the  fatter  Home Depot paint stirrers we need to make the channel one  saw blade width +3 poo pickers  wide.

Mark's food was wonderful he's had a lot of experience with hamburgers out of Costco and then the desserts began to arrive along with one of those edibles eating things ... we did not starve .

Bud found the iron fire pit for the burning of this spirit sticks ...

this cement mixer  was a lovely addition   as it churned up 2300 usual shaddap on numbers plus another 1000 between the Wayne Gretzky shirt and Bobby Orr books and that beautiful quilt ..that meant I cut up over 3000 little rectangles but it certainly was well worth it . Sandy was given the chore of reaching into the cement mixer with what  someone said was a hemostat ... an elongated hemostat which apparently was used in my husband's medical practice doing things like d and c’s   ---at least that's what the nurses here told me .   she picked out one little piece of paper at a time till we had one pink one blue one purple maybe a green ..etc.

the possibilities of that cement mixer are endless ..... the netting across the entrance that was made of agricultural netting which one buys to keep the birds off the Apple trees or whatever ...

A good time was had by all ... I came home too many emails  thanking all of us for putting it together ... and it certainly takes a lot of planning and  finally brute strength .
Carrol's thank you was typical ...

MANY MANY THANKS TO YOU, YOUR STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS FOR HOSTING A VERY ENJOYABLE DOG FEST (MY FIRST).  I KNOW IT TOOK A LOT OF PLANNING AND WORK, AND IT SHOWED! I ENJOYED THE PUPPIES PLAYING AROUND, THE SPIRIT FLAGS, BUT MOST OF ALL, THE RECIPIENT INTERVIEWS.  EACH RECIPIENT TOUCHED MY HEART WITH WHAT SHE OR HE SAID ABOUT HOW THEIR SERVICE DOG CHANGED THEIR LIFE. THE DOGS THEMSELVES WERE, NO SURPRISE, INCREDIBLY WELL-BEHAVED AND SHOWED HOW THEY PROVIDED MOBILITY ASSISTANCE TO THEIR OWNERS. JUDY DIDN'T MISS A BIT AND STAYED FOCUSED DESPITE A POSSESSIVE TURKEY, BRAYING DONKEYS, A DONKEY CRASHING THE FENCE, AND PROBABLY MORE I DIDN'T SEE OR HEAR! YOU HAVE MUCH TO BE PROUD OF AND I HOPE I CAN BE PRESENT IN PERSON SOME YEAR.  IN THE MEAN TIME, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING MY DAY AFTER BEING DEVESTATED BY THE DEATH OF RUTH BADER GINSBURG, MY HERO.  carol.

The calendars have landed in the cellar ... what and leftover envelopes have even been located ..
Donna tells me that this is her favorite calendar done by mark because it's actual farm photographs
without artistic staging .... personally I like the humor of some of the other calendars .  .. But then again I enjoy almost any kind of humor .  wherever you can find it .

as yesterday morning I announced that I would go to the shop and look for 3 inch screws which we needed for something ..  and someone said  go to the shop and look for 2 inch screws because then you'll find the three inch ..

that was my major chuckle of the day ,
--

My immediate problem of today is to go get some Turkey crumbles becausw these Guinea hands don't seem to be eating Turkey pellets and sure enough somewhere on the Internet it said Guinea hens don't like pelleted food .. they will eat crack corn .. which I have been giving them for the last 48 hours
so that's the best FYI lesson I can give for the day
i put up a n abreviated 1000 brick  shatting board... just to get us thru to the proper start of a usual 2100 brick month...
---
now i will go watch the replays of judy's interviews....

good watching
 on we go ..

sept 19 2020 dogfest

virtual dogfest 2020     is going to be a 2 cupppa coffee day..

couple things... i  was not aware of  our jewish  staff needing the day off...    which they should take.. we will manage....
it looks like it rained overnight. a few cleanups there  but a nice day is forecast....
i am not aware of any cp's arrival ....  if they do show today, they can be in charge of spirit sticks.. racks are up and ready..
since we are not expecting any unexpected guests, i did not get a portapotty, so  for the rest room , use one in the laundry building .

mommy nature's cov is still running the show  and 10 foot  distance is mandated....  and except for our weekly staff/volunteers on some errand.....   no one in the buildings ..no one in the main house   which includes the condo and deck which are "in the house."

a few recipients will be around and talking on teh donkey camera starting about noon...   ,,, right behind teh turkey's egg project...
the other camera to watch is the puppy hill one which will hopefllly be turned to the swing set when we bring pups down.... when they decide time is ready....?noon???  sitting on the ground with pups is recommended...  holding or picking any up pups  is for trainers only... otherwise not allowed...

cars... please none  ... i panic over hot mufflers---- puppies like to crawl; under.....    handicapped parking by guest house.  and pick up by golf cart if necessary... ...others in the pit--

i will keep the "boards" open til 10:30 am   which will give me time to get the late  purchases in linda.s  hands for making the little paper "tickets"
amy and jacky's  fluffy project will apparently be on or web at 11 am -  i don't know  what linda will do with  that today  but  have at it,...
i am not supposed to tell you the calendars arrived.. -------and they look really nice... with all of mark's photos...

i hear rumor mark is cooking ...

gathering place will be teh tea tent  by the flag.  ---  10 foot.....   please remind each other.

enjoy !!

sept 18 2020 shatting

CARLENE YOU OWE HALEY $24 AND $20 TO JUDY.  RIGHT !!!

TALK ABOUT TAKING A COMMUNITY  TO KEEP THIS OUTFIT RUNNING RIGHT.....

With running four different raffle boards tomorrow there were details … every time you change anything around here there are things you never thought of .. simply with 2000 numbers for just the chicken chating … we usually put 2000 stickers on the table cloth it's time consuming but people enjoy standing around talking to each other while putting them on and scraping them off but this time because we have 4  I decided that we could use little slips of paper in the Cement mixer .. we just happen to have a nearly new very clean cement mixer which should work fine tossing around all these bits of paper for the four different baffles--- it sounded like such a good idea and it is    I had not totally considered how these thousands a little bits of paper got to be little bits of paper ..

So yesterday the end of Mail call 5:30 I sat on my bed with linda's lovely paper cutter and sliced up over 2000 little rectangles with people's name and a number on them .. That took me from 5:30 to 8:30 of doing nothing except cutting little rectangles with a paper cutter .I got the all packed away in the garbage bag there's an awful lot of 'em when I noticed but in the process I lost  that extremely sharp tiny razor thing off the paper cutter ..  with luck it's in the bag with the little rectangles otherwise it's losted in my sheets and blankets .

Who could possibly guess let the process of training service dogs required spending Time searching for a  razor in a bed .

This Best illustrates the problem I have with ADI who insists I have very detailed job descriptions .. it may be simple in other outfits to do this but around here you couldn't possibly describe all the things staff will be required to do …

there's another small detail  For you all to think about -----   we did have a barking episode two nights ago which involved the animal control officer giving me a citation .. her proof was listening to the explore camera web ..  last night I left the donkey Hill camera an overnight unnoticed because of the location of the microphone the loudest thing on it was the turkeys and .. that is not saying the dogs didn't bark because they certainly can and do sometimes but last night the loudest thing in the barn were the turkeys .

This may throw us back into the study of physics where sound get quieter the further away you get …buy an actual formula double the distance reduces the Loudness by 6 decibels .

That is demonstrated most often by someone saying "speak up we can't hear you in the back of the room .".   that is a known physical phenomenon like gravity .. if you stop and listen very carefully you can hear a barking dog at 200 feet but only if your refrigerator is not running to muffle the sound .  It certainly would never wake any sleeping baby I ever knew . but if you or annoyed with dogs in the first place that noise will grate on your nerves which makes me wonder why you would buy a house next to a kennel 50 plus great Danes .

A very old story with a very old problem .

We are as ready as we're going to be for our virtual dogfest and I hope everybody will stay 10 feet away from each other .. we will put up the spirit sticks sometimes Saturday morning because I'm worried if they're up overnight some of the paper ones would wilt .. so that activity should start sometime Saturday morning with ongoing interviews with staff and volunteers starting about noon on the donkey camera .  I can't tell you when we will bring the puppies down to the puppy Hill camera because it Has to be their schedule not ours .   If I had to guess I would say somewhere between 11:30 and 12:30 .  but who knows .

----------

bud got the camera moved tothe condo area... which is much more interestingthat=n the sunroom....    tome, the interesting poart was..... bud said it was not working and there must be something wrong with the cable between the sunroom and condo...  i do not know why.... or why i would remember... but for the past?2 years? another cable has been hanging on the clean fluffy rack in the corner of the kitchen...   bud changed that out nd it works perfectly...

now walk that back to..."why is that loop oif wire hanging in the kitchen.... put it away"  and if that had happened 2 years aga...., i never would have been able to find it t the moment it was needed....  why was it there iht he first place????  remember i went thru a phase of learning to put new ends on cables-- and it was my practice loop...   put that in my job description ..., right next to cutting thousands of paper rectangles...

sept 17 2020

yes !! When my son was in Afghanistan as civilian support, he lived in a shipping container. They are being used as affordable housing in several areas of the country. Cut a window, put in some a/c, you have a lovely condo that holds up better than some buildings. 😁

     Leanne
------

Maybe ---  just maybe--  I've found my latest wacko idea .. making a home out of a shipping container ..those things are well built .. The standard ones our 20 foot and 40 foot long about 8 foot high .  I can hear the building inspector now ..It certainly could be an overflow guest house .. we already have the training room The ICU building now add  a shipping container ????

 ---

We hopefully have new help arriving  at the end of the month .. which would give Me  More time to be creative..

--

The puppy bus is working well AND taking  All 15 pups Down to the the grassy area   About noon time for run around and lunch has been Great fund .. The only limiting factor is the puppies are getting very heavy to lift into the puppy bus ..  This is a marvelous group of puppies and will hopefully become nice service dogs ..

---

I have several notices about Bella and George beings sponsored whatever on the Cesar Milan web page actually I don't know the details but it is a very nice video about Bella and George .

At 10 foot apart……..THE Schedule for   Saturdays  dogfest is about the same 11 AM to noon is run around frantic hour .. followed by interviews of all the staff several recipients and many volunteers which will be set up in the donkey stall ..  the spirit sticks will hopefully be visible on the puppy Hill camera and between interviews people can hielp getting them on the racks….   ….then ….the putting on of the  shatting numbers starting 2:00…… the chicken shatting and the hockey Memorabilia will happen Starting at 3:00 o'clock  Followed by the spirit stick march … dog feeding and burning of the spirit sticks and ???mail call????

And if I get organized enougn… ice cream after that….  Why not. ?

The planned happening of today is to  get the guinnea chicks on to the area close to the pond….   We need a bit of fence adjustment  and they shoulc be out catching bugs from there.

Dear Carlene,
Start to finish today, Bumble took greater care of Scott than I ever could have, for six solid hours.  He remained laser focused on Scott’s physical position and truly held him up, despite Scott’s exhaustion.  Additionally, he was fully in-tune with where Scott was emotionally, because simply being at the VA can spiral Scott to a sad place.
Each day, I am more and more amazed at this remarkable team.  I watch with pride as Scott hands out business cards to direct people who are interested to SDP’s website, typically mentioning that they, “....have to watch the Chicken Brick video and get some for yourself!”

Thank you so much for this incredible, finely-tuned “machine” of a dog.  Bumble, through the incredible training and love from all folks SDP, is a miracle worker, and because of him, my husband can live a real life again.
I hope to be able to come to the farm as soon as I’m allowed so I can volunteer in the barn for a few days again.  My best to all.  Please give sweet Sizzle a red cookie for me.

Tito is doing GREAT! He is such a sweet boy. He is so easy going and very friendly with everyone we've introduced him to. I think he likes it here, too. He and our other dog get along really well and he's very playful with our cat, who loves danes.

We haven't had any issues at all! I'm trying to continue to work on his training, some commands are easier than others. Maybe someday we could come to the farm and practice some of them, if you'd be interested and available.

We have a vet appointment next week. We had had to reschedule his appointment, otherwise he would have been already. But he seems to be doing just fine.
I will get some pictures together to send to you so you can see him in his new home!
Thanks!

Allie

Dear Carlene,
Where are you find one you find the other. Connected at the hip! I always say Pixie is the best Service Dog. She is always by my side each and every day day and night. Never takes her eyes off of me. We don’t do anything separate always together. She has forever changed my life giving me the independence to be able to enjoy so many wonderful things. If it’s from doing house chores in the house to taking walks to enjoying an outing the little simple things in life.
