i was impressed with the physical therapist i went to see yesterday- i mention this only to discuss the computerization of the "medical industry.
" basic problem is--i am in the lahey system-- as patient #123445566778-2a-second problem is... my usual primary care physician left lahey...and per the computer .. i must have one.... not knowing one from the next... i was assigned to the "next available" phsycian who was taking new patients. now...my affair with the elevator's wild electrical problem.... because George ( bentley's veterinarian) had said to watch him for xxxxxxx.. i figured maybe i should see a doctor who could do/order similar tests /whatever for me.
when you go into a lahey dr cubicle.... a person- with probably no medical training hooks you up to a blood pressure /oxygen saturation machine and pushes one button- while asking you from 1 to 10 - how much pain you are in. that is entered and in comes the board certified doctor.. who looks at the computer screen while asking "why you are here"--- so help me... i said "i was having trouble sleeping because of....." i didn't get to say because of the electrical accident-- he pushed a button which sent a sleeping pill Rx to costco pharmacy - and left.
really???...must have been abnormal occurance-- so i made another appt a week later- with a second doctor who "was taking new patients". this time i got to why i was there, and started "i was worried that....." and his head went back toward the computer screen and bingo i had a Rx for a tranquiliser waiting for me at costco pharmacy. i picked up both Rx and did not take any of either-
finally i met another doctor from lahey who got me past the appointment- making person and i did see a doctor who let me get to the words electracal accident and hurt arm.( here comes the interesting part) the only reason she got interested in the case was --- her sister is also a doctor - at childrens hospital in boston had a really cute boy with a black dog who did wonders for his walking.. HUNTER AND WENDY !!! AND THEN SHE SAID I COULD BE HER PATIENT--THANK YOU HUNTER AND WENDY !!! she pushed a button on the computer and i was lined up for some physical therapy place.
she also explained patients are only allowed one complaint per visit- and-- i know historically why-- on the insurance forms ( medicare) there is a code for an office visit- each of which must have an "approved "diagnosis- and then the matching Rx would be approved
there was no code for "electrical accident with an elevator".. i wasn't allowed to have that - there was no code for that- there was no "OTHER"
WHICH EXPLAINS A BIG PROBLEM FOR ME-- I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN IN SOME "OTHER" CATAGORY- THE ONLY ITEM ON A FORM FOR WHICH I AM POSITIVE.. IS THE M/F -- AFTER THAT I GET CONFUSED.

maybe it won't take me a year to learn how to tell if an emailed grant report has been delivered....or maybe it will......:) i don't like to think i am incapable of learning this new stuff, ... i prefer to think i have no room because my head is full.

From Bella's Mom:
Today at school Bella and George had MCAS testing. Today and tomorrow are science. I think George was happy because it gave him time to recover from the game last night. I do have to say I was very impressed with him last night. With the amount of people just attempting to reach out and let him
without asking or the ones that would grab him from behind and he never lost a beat. (Besides his pooping incident but no one was touching him then!) but anyway back to today. George had a good day. I guess after the fire drill yesterday at school he was a little nervous and confused. Bella and George
are supposed to go to the safe room on the second floor. This is the first place the firemen check. This wasn't a planned alarm, the alarms went off and they didn't know why.
So this seemed like the real deal and I know Bella was scared because they couldn't get into their room and they didn't know if this
was a real fire or not. So I guess George was a bit shaky after the fire drill and going back inside. But today was a better day. The things I learn the day after.
Tonight Bella had a part in our meetin gong at the Kingdom Hall. Her and George walked right up on stage and did a great job with their 2 friends. Proud of my girl. Tomorrow is school and then infusion. But that's all for tonight. Love Bella and George 👧🐶💕
